We opted for a strawberry smoothie and a peach smoothie. Service was fast and friendly. I loved the peach smoothie which was very flavorful. Bookguy was not as happy with his strawberry as he thought it a bit weak. Both came with a whipped topping if desired. Scones and muffins were available, but we settled for liquid refreshment. Such was the case on our stop at Gathering Grounds in Osceola, Nebraska. This little gem, located off Hawkeye Street was serving up a variety of caffeinated and flavored coffees but I opted for a Blackberry Honey Lemonade recommended by Katie Jo and it was heavenly on a warm Nebraska day. The raspberry crumble cookie, neatly wrapped in plastic was the icing on the cake.....errr cookie. The historic building that houses Gathering Grounds has exposed brick and a variety of old yearbooks, letter jackets and local items of interest including yard sticks from local businesses. The owner was on hand to share some of the history and it was obvious that he took a lot of pride in the community and business. Requested eggs over easy and got eggs over hard. The sourdough was perfectly toasted and buttered. Not much Hash browns and not very crisp. Did get an order of pancakes and they were very good.
