Bill got as good as he gave. This is a roadside cafe in rural Creston, WA. Do not expect or demand Michelin-Star quality food. Cowboy art, country music, local community notices. I cannot speak for the expresso. I like Farmer Brothers. Expect rural Cafe food serving road trip main dishes. Breakfast served all day. One of us got breakfast. A favorite comment from me is, "Pancakes big as your face." or, "Pancakes big as a Baby Moon." However, nobody knows what is a Baby Moon any more. Light, fluffy, delicious with butter. Three of us finished the pancake. A Reuben with fries arrived. Bill ate it all gone, sharing his fries. The fries did not disappoint. Hot, brown, crispy, self- salted. Club Sandwich and fries landed, plus a giant small salad with our chosen ranch dressing. Joni mentioned Jami has a Food Complex. Nothing she creates satisfies her. She feels unworthy to command the grill. Not True! If you stop here. If you eat here, do as I did. Tell Jami you'd travel 1200 miles to eat her meals, just like Tom. Really good food. This has become a regular go-to spot for a good breakfast when out riding the cycles. Good food and friendly service that makes you feel like one of the locals. When you come here you can almost always strike up a conversation with others from the area. They're just that kind of friendly sort. We've also never been disappointed in the food or service. Water and coffee always being refilled without you even realizing it. From the outside it looks a bit dated, and inside is about the same. That just means they meet the qualifications for a classic diner. A worthwhile stop. read more

We had our first big snow in Creston over night and the regular cook at the Corner Cafe had gotten sick. So the waitress Joni, was filling in scared to death. It was 6 am when i popped in and the sidewalks were already shoveled! Dawn and Joni were quick to offer a hot cup of coffee and a little girl talk. I ordered the SheepHearder. It was fabulous! Perfectly cooked portion of hashbrowns, onions and ham. I then had to have a cinnamon roll. Also, a warm tasty treat!. The restaurant was clean, the gals were fun and spunky and it was just a nice spot to enjoy a quiet , snowfilled morning. Joni rocked the cook position while singing a couple tunes. My family fell in love with this place. Right off the bat a woman names Joani greeted us and got us settled in. The place was comfortable on a hot day and super clean. We all ordered different things. I ordered hands down the BEST chicken fried steak I've have that was not my grandmas. The breading was great and the graveyard was to die for, this did not come out of a can. I also ordered the biscuits and grave for my daughter and I to split (and we fought over viscously). My husband had a scramble he was not willing to share. And the kids had French toast, hash browns, and eggs. All were beautifully cooked. We were on a family day out to go to ghost towns and don't live anywhere near here but, now this is the destination point. I wish I could post some awesome pictures of the food but it was to good to stop eating to take one, and we ate everything. read more

This is our local breakfast place and we love it. My favorite is the crab quiche and the wife loves their large pancakes. The locals frequent this place as it is definitely a small town go-to which we love. It can get a bit busy as it is a smaller place, particularly for breakfast. Even if you see a lot of cars there, at least go in to see if there is an available seat as there often is. People drive separate as this is a meeting spot. We were on a motorcycle trip through the Pacific Northwest and stopped in here for breakfast. Now I'm an educated professional, but when I'm on a bike I dress very practical for the occasion, which means I look the part. You know that song Turn the Page by Bob Seger? That's what it felt like walking into this place as all the eyes were on you. Very unnerving feeling like my butthole wouldn't be safe if one of the locals found out I didn't do my part for 'Merica at the Capital insurrection on Jan 6th. Heard a lot of racist talk at neighboring tables and was bracing myself for a shoutout of "that goes for you too, hippy boy". But, on the good side, the waitress was very, very nice and the food was surprisingly very good. Nice tasty, hearty breakfast to keep us riding all day. read more

This place is just amazing!! The food, the staff, the food!! It is like home cooked meal. We have had the 2-2-2 a couple times. French toast is my favorite instead of pancakes. This is a hopping place so finding a seat can be a challenge. We have been there several times when we are in town. Breakfast and lunch is what they serve so get there early!! Really great place for a stop for a break or a meal. We stopped for breakfast. Very friendly staff with an actual sense of humor. My fiancé had the 2+2+2 with eggs, bacon and French toast. I had a large biscuits with sausage gravy and a side of hash browns. Both were perfect. The waitress even offered to video us singing happy birthday to my grandson. Best Joint in Creston. Well....because at the time of this posting, it's the only joint in Creston. But that doesn't mean they aren't great. American hearty breakfasts, with things that I like to see on the table from breakfast professionals. Big glass of ice water. Bowl of half & half cups. Basket of jams/jellies. Bottle of Tabasco Verde. Heinz 57 on demand. All good stuff. I had their BTA Omelet (bacon/tomato/avocado). The fresh T & A went well with the savory B. It was a nice combo, and one I don't see often on menus. And fans of hash browns will love how they prepare theirs. The best breakfast we've ever had! The service is EXCELLENT, and the food is delicious. It's just a little place with a mom & pop sort of feel, but nicer that you might expect for being in such a small town. We stop here every time we pass through now, either for an apple turnover and a quick rest stop or for their full-on breakfast. We're treated the same either way, even though we're spending way less when we just buy a turnover. The last time I went in, the sweetest girl was working there and gave me a frozen turnover because we chatted just enough for her to know I was traveling. Such quality customer care! I messed up the change and she didn't make a thing out of it (some cashiers make comments and it makes me feel like an idiot...). We love Corner Cafe. read more

Great service. Stopped in on our way to Lake Chelan. Highly recommend to stop in if your headed through town. We were hangry and I needed coffee. You could tell they were a little nervous with making a latte, and yes they have an espresso machine with a ton of flavor options and sugar free options and it was wonderful. Why are there no reviews for this fabulous slice of real Americana. There are many reasons to travel across Washington State on US 2 instead of I-90, but the Country Cafe is one of the main ones. This is a real mom and pop cafe that serves great food made right on the premises. REAL hashbrowns, just like we make them at home when we spend the time to do it. The food was EXCELLENT! We ate breakfast at this place, man it was great! My wife and I are from Alaska, last summer we were riding our bicycles from Bellingham Washington to Virginia Beach. We stopped here and brought our appetites. WOW! The waitress belongs there, she is simply a people person.
