I ordered chicken fried steak and eggs and hashbrown potatoes. No microwave required. When I mentioned that I don't see why a broken microwave is holding up my breakfast she said they use it to thaw the meat before cooking it! I am obviously quite annoyed at the whole thing. Just as I was walking up to cancel my order she throws the food up and says here you go! I get my food home 3 blocks away and my over easy eggs were cold and hard no runny yolk. I assumed this was because they sat waiting forever for the chicken fried steak fiasco. I tried the chicken fried steak. It was extremely tough and hard to chew and covered in some weird white sauce that definitely was not country gravy. Almost tasted like dill. I assumed it was a leftover sauce from a dinner special or something. My English muffin had plenty of butter which is good but it had sat so long it was rubber. The hashbrown potatoes were decent so those are what I ate. The rest was split between my two dogs. Very unfortunate. I've tried twice to like this place but it's a let down. Bill got as good as he gave. This is a roadside cafe in rural Creston, WA. Do not expect or demand Michelin-Star quality food. Cowboy art, country music, local community notices. I cannot speak for the expresso. I like Farmer Brothers. Expect rural Cafe food serving road trip main dishes. Breakfast served all day. One of us got breakfast. A favorite comment from me is, "Pancakes big as your face." or, "Pancakes big as a Baby Moon." However, nobody knows what is a Baby Moon any more. Light, fluffy, delicious with butter. Their coffee is also great! I had an iced latte one morning and a hot latte the next morning. Both were great. The workers inside were super friendly and welcoming. It's clearly popular with locals, as there were lines inside and at the drive thru. But service was very fast! The vibes inside were nice and cozy. The ambiance of the café felt a little scattered--it didn't seem like there was a consistent theme--but the space definitely has good bones and the potential to be something special.
