Food was really good we ordered a cheese burger with fries and chicken tenders with mashed potatoes and gravy. The chicken tenders were the flat ones so this made my wife extra happy. Staff was really friendly helpful and the place was clean. My only down concern was the charge of $9.25 for my fries. Didn't have time to take the ticket back to ask about because they close at 2. We r here for a couple of days for business and really want to try their breakfast but not sure we'll have time before leaving town. Update. Was able to go back for breakfast and they fixed the situation very apologetically two thumbs up for this place.

What a hidden gem! Lots of charm on the inside and food was plenty and at a great price. This is the last sizable town before you get to the Missouri border. We noticed they even had a bread and breakfast next door in case you want to make a weekend out of it to go shopping for antiques and enjoy a nearby River.

This place was really good! The ham and cheese omelette was homemade with real eggs. The hashbrowns were nice and crispy. My family of 5 all ate for $35! Prices were amazing coming from Colorado prices.

Hadn't been in it for years. Needed to grab some lunch. Excellent Reuben! Service is okay. Parking is in a lot behind and across the street.

Delicious breakfasts. We have been going here for years, so it's reliable. Tacky decor, but good food.

There is not only nothing wrong with that, it is sometimes exactly what you need. Exotic flavor combinations and ingredients that aren't in your regular shopping cart is not what you want. A simple sandwich, BLT for her, Club for me, with crinkle cut fries gets the job done sometimes. It satisfies that 5th grader that lurks inside of all of us no matter how old we are. I also think the older we get, the more satisfied we are with safe, neutral flavors. A pinch of salt, the indication of a whisper of pepper, a patina of mayo. We were in town for my wife to visit a quilting cornerstone spot for her. We are retired now, and closer than we had been over in MD, so we hopped in the car and made a 3 day odessy, good time had by all. Our visit got off to a little of a rough start, [at the time an unexplained delay after tea delivery - the other staff could have taken the initiative of coming to take our order, but I don't know the internal dynamics here] however the young lady bounced back well, and there are no complaints on actual service or the food. I suspect it is quite popular with the locals, I see a lot of lofty praise in the reviews, and our hotel clerk recommended we try it.

The beef was tasty and the au Ju was wonderful. My wife got the senior Hot Dog. It was only 5 bucks so I didn't think much ... what came out was a grilled 1/4 lb dog and it was cooked to perfection. The entire meal was 25.00 with a tip and we were very happy!! Great food will be back 100% anytime we are near here!!

However, the wise and folks that love to explore, will insist on experiencing what's most important--the food, service and atmosphere. Hands down, this place prepared one of the best tasting and presentable steaks I've ever had! It was seared with perfection, tender and melted in my mouth with flavorful juices. The service was amazing! Services was amazing because they were being themselves and moving with a sense of urgency. They weren't trying to put on "a show of perfection". Constant communication amongst themselves and with customers. That feeling you find in a happy, warm and family oriented place usually called home. No fancy name needed to the restaurant, or corporate owned image that chain restaurants have. Just a restaurant conjoined to a convenience store/gas station, that can easily put to shame big name restaurants. Whomever may read this review of mine, do yourself a beautiful gesture...come indulge and enjoy an epic steak, or even something else off the menu. Oh yeah, and their apple cobbler and strawberry cake are super!
