This is the ultimate, down-home, small town, casual cafe. My friend and I had lunch here, and we enjoyed the food and attentive service. I had the daily special of an open faced roast beef sandwich, mashed potatoes with gravy, and coleslaw. My buddy had a hand-patted hamburger. For dessert, he had chocolate pie. I opted for a double cheeseburger! The youngest daughter of the owner waited on us, and she provided excellent service. If in the area, give their homemade burgers a try. The prices are more than reasonable. Bring cash, because they don't accept credit cards. read more

Let me start with the good. We were traveling back home to MS. Our food arrived so quickly which makes getting back on the road nice. The prices are dirt cheap. Not sure how they do it in this economy. The staff was pleasant. Now for why I gave it 3 stars. The food is mediocre. The burger patties on my husbands burger were a good thickness but absolutely a frozen patty. He wouldn't have ordered a double had he known. He took one patty off. None of our food was beyond lukewarm. I had the pork fritter, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and tossed salad with a cornbread muffin. You can't beat the portion for the price but the temperature and taste were disappointing. The gravy was anemic. Barely brown. Not white gravy but def not brown. Mashed potatoes were prob one of the best things but def needed more warmth. Pork fritter was thin and would have been better with a light flour batter instead of the thicker breadcrumb batter. Green beans were like what Mamaw would make with bacon. Salad was old school and I like that. Corn muffin was cold as a wedge but decent cornbread. Mike asked the server who dropped off our food for more mayo, never saw that or another server until it was time to leave. They were slightly busy. Will we stop again? No. Is it a good place to get a decent amount of food for a great price? Yes. It's an old building but clean inside. read more

I LOVE the horseshoe burger! It's a burger patty on Texas toast with French fries and special cheese! You can customize with chicken and tots. All of their food is good but the horseshoe burger is my ABSOLUTE favorite. Their service is just hometown country serving which is what I love. read more

This place is a hole on the wall type restaurant. The food was fresh and delicious! There's a sandwich called Horseshoe burger; open-face sandwich. A layer of texas-toast, hamburger, french fries, and a pepper jack cheese sauce on top. Fried pork tenderloin sandwich, to name a few. Great service! Would definitely come visit again whenever we travel on the way. read more

This is NOT a Cracker Barrel. However, want a true roadside cafe in NE Arkansas? This is your place! (Hate flies? This might not be your place) The crew of locals here is a gem, a true living regional history lesson. Breakfast is great (you will need to swat the flies away of course) if you are willing to meet some of the folks seated at the first round table in this place, hard at work solving the problems of the world. Service is tops, pricing, very affordable. The total experience is much more genuine than any Cracker Barrel on the Interstate. Ample truck parking, lively conversation, friendly and funny service. A good reminder of why I moved to this part of the world in the first place! If you don't like to be called "honey" when you order, keep driving. Otherwise, hit the brakes, this place is legit. read more

Waitress was very friendly. Place was not very clean. Bathroom was disgusting. Food mediocre. Only place to eat for miles and miles.

We read the reviews and agree The ambience makes this place, truly a local hang out enjoyed the conversations. The bacon cheese omelette was outstanding! The breakfast special: biscuits eggs hashbrowns smothered in gravy, The gravy was a little bland, but bacon on the side was cooked perfectly. The service was warm and excellent! read more

Great food, especially the catfish and the pancakes and very fast, personable service. Highly recommend.

I eat at Renee's everytime I drive between Springfield MO and Memphis TN. What a great place! It is Americana at it's best. Comfort food at a great price and served with a smile and sweet tea. They have specials everyday and a pretty good sized menu. Just a fun place to eat and step back in time to when every little town had a local diner and blue plate specials. You'll love it! read more

Tried dinner there tonight(4/15/16) and it was terrible. There was no fish listed on the menu, however, we noticed order after order of fish coming out of the kitchen. I pointed out to the waitress that a sign on the wall had catfish as the "lunch" special. She said oh, it's the dinner special, too. (Would have been nice to know) He got chicken fried steak. It came with salad and fries. The steak was small, and Luke warm, at best. He did not enjoy it. I ordered a bowl of vegetable beef soup and a small burger. The waitress asked what I wanted on it. I said, anything but onions! As I hate onions... The soup was piping hot but tasteless. The potatoes and carrots were mushy like they had been cooking all day. The burger was healthy, but had a generous portion of onion! Yuck! The waitress never returned to ask how our food was. I didn't even mention it took 40 minutes to get served, yet. It wouldn't have mattered had the food and service been good. Don't stop here. It's a real loser read more

They don't accept credit or debit cards. Therefore, how good the food might be is irrelevant.

The food is generally good, in a roadside cafe sort of way. Depends on who is in the kitchen. Occasionally someone fills in who has a really heavy hand with the salt. Portion sizes are enormous, so you probably won't leave hungry. I'd recommend the tenderloin sandwich. There are also daily plate lunch specials. Just be sure to bring your cash, 'cause this place doesn't take plastic for payment. read more

Stopped by for the catfish lunch special on 08/12/2016. The first impression is that of a run down old restaurant that is standing on its last leg. The tables and floors are dirty. We sat down at our table and there was a dead fly on the table so evidently they don't wipe them down very well. We decided to go ahead and try the food. We ordered the catfish special and when it came to the table the plates were just thrown together and sloppy. They forgot the hush puppies on my plate and I ask the waitress if she could bring me some, she brought them to the table pretty quick but while doing so spilled tea all on my daughter plate and around the table in front of her, the waitress looked at the mess didn't apologize or even attempt to clean it up. The food was decent and generous portions but the atmosphere, lack of cleanliness and attitude of the waitresses is the reasons I will not be returning. There use to be a thing called southern hospitality but I guess that is a thing if the past. read more
