Definitely one of my favourites in Balmain. The ambience is fabulous with old European style interiors and a fireplace for cold winter days. There are a few tables outside and the menu is mainly sharing plates. Vegetarian choice is limited and I wish there were a few more options for food. The owner does allow you to get pizza from Tipo 00 if you don't like the menu they have. Cocktail list is extensive and there is a good selection of single malts and other spirits. Would happily come here any day. It's a great spot for a chilled evening with friends sipping cocktails and grazing :-)

If you enjoy the burnt caramel of a full city roast, you'll likely enjoy this coffee more than me. I found that the mac I had was lacking a little body, that I would normally characterise the impact of a full city roast, and other than slightly too much milk in my mac, they did a great job. Not sure I would travel to here just for coffee, but if this flavour is what you are after, then maybe you should give them a try. Great service made the visit more enjoyable. As a pub it was actually really nice, especially the lounge area out the back (though there wasn't much in the way of a beer garden). This is a nice big old pub with numerous areas to drink and eat including my favourite "no kids" area with big comfy lounges, fireplace and big windows letting lots of sun in. 3 Weeds seems to be a place for the locals as there were lots of groups. For food I shared the meats and cheese platter which I was a bit disappointed with as it only came with 1 type of cheese and no fruit. I did however enjoy my sirloin steak with a delicious garden salad topped with balsamic vinegar. I usually dislike pub side salads but this was a winner.

Sharing platters: a cheese one, a meat and cheese one and a Vego one with Cashew cheese. Toasties including one with Brie, cranberry and Rabbit terrine. Delicious. Anyone can google the origin of the name of this place, and I think it does every justice to the moniker. I think this may become my regular hangout.
