Definitely one of my favourites in Balmain. The ambience is fabulous with old European style interiors and a fireplace for cold winter days. There are a few tables outside and the menu is mainly sharing plates. Vegetarian choice is limited and I wish there were a few more options for food. The owner does allow you to get pizza from Tipo 00 if you don't like the menu they have. Cocktail list is extensive and there is a good selection of single malts and other spirits. Would happily come here any day. It's a great spot for a chilled evening with friends sipping cocktails and grazing :-)

If you enjoy the burnt caramel of a full city roast, you'll likely enjoy this coffee more than me. I found that the mac I had was lacking a little body, that I would normally characterise the impact of a full city roast, and other than slightly too much milk in my mac, they did a great job. Not sure I would travel to here just for coffee, but if this flavour is what you are after, then maybe you should give them a try. Great service made the visit more enjoyable. Well, it certainly stands out from the other pubs in the area, namely because it is basically a bar, and a pretty unpretentious one at that. It has a pretty nice laid back atmosphere and a great place for a quiet drink. Mind you, there wasn't a huge amount of options in the way of beers, and the outdoor seats are actually quite narrow, however I still liked the place.

This is a nice big old pub with numerous areas to drink and eat including my favourite "no kids" area with big comfy lounges, fireplace and big windows letting lots of sun in. 3 Weeds seems to be a place for the locals as there were lots of groups. For food I shared the meats and cheese platter which I was a bit disappointed with as it only came with 1 type of cheese and no fruit. I did however enjoy my sirloin steak with a delicious garden salad topped with balsamic vinegar. I usually dislike pub side salads but this was a winner.

The place is not very big (although there is a second floor which I don't know if they use or not), but had no problem getting seated and ordering the food. The waiting time was a little long, but that was due to a massive order being taken for takeaway just before we got in. The chef came out halfway through to apologise to us, which was nice. We didn't mind as we were in no rush and were enjoying ourselves anyway. But then it came! The meal I was looking for, a big sharing Chelo Kabab which was very tasty and fulfilling. Particularly, I'm a big fan of the mince-meat from these restaurants. It was lovely. The waitresses were very nice and helpful too. I reckon we will pop round again if we are ever in the area
