I rarely use small engine repair, but my 12 year old Honda mower would mot start after never failing me before, I figured a repair these days would put close to a replacement... David helped me get it out of the truck and with a couple of pulls and a couple of squirts with "Brake Cleaner" in the carb, it started. He insisted I owe nothing and helped put back in truck. You don't get this kind of genuine service any more! I will use Corley for all of my small engine service needs and recommend all my friends and contacts to do the same. read more

I noticed Corley's average review rating is 2.5 out of 5. Pretty dismal but also overly generous given the quality of service I received. Perhaps this review will help correct an otherwise exaggerated rating. I brought my pressure washer to Corley's needing the carburetor cleaned so the engine would run smoothly. I told them I had just had the engine serviced with a new spark plug, filter, and oil change, but the carburetor still needed attention and that was the only service needed. They wrote that information on the work order. I picked up my unit, paid the $104 they charged me, but then noticed they changed to oil and the spark plug when they cleaned the carburetor. Did they bother to read the notes? Hell no! They went ahead and changed to oil and the spark plug anyway charging me for that work as well. When I complained, the service tech looked at me like a deer in headlights. He left to discuss with someone in the office and returned looking just as dumbfounded as when he first left. I asked to see the owner who refused to come out to talk with me. Rather the tech told me the charge he had initially told me was for the oil change was actually for the gas used to clean my carburetor. When I pointed out that there was already gas in the unit and the $8.50 equaled 3+ gallons of gas, far more than the tank held to begin with, he acted even more dimwitted than before. As a compromise, they refunded me the cost of the spark plug which was a replacement for the brand new spark plug I had just installed on the unit. They ripped me off for $8.50 doing unauthorized work that wasn't needed. Bottom line, they didn't follow my original instructions and they ripped me off! I'm not even sure they actually did the work they claimed. Very untrustworthy and rather sleazy with their customers! I won't be doing business with this dishonest business again and I suggest the reader avoid this business like they have the plague! Too many other good, ethical, and honest repair shops to choose from! read more

Took our 4 yo Husqvarna mower there because it had blown it's gasket and damaged the carburetor. They took a $25 diagnostic fee (applies to repair bill at the end of you decide to repair it) to check it out. I was told the repair would take awhile because of backlog, which I expected as there were lots of other mowers there. Honestly, the place isn't much to look at, but I didn't judge it based upon looks. Staff was helpful, funny and nice, and they did amazing work on the mower- it looked new! They sharpened the blade and gave it a tune up. It runs great, and the bill was only $100! They also have used equipment for sale, which I eyeballed a power sprayer. Wahoo! read more

I received the worst customer service at Corley Engine and Mower! I took my Echo string trimmer in because it was difficult to start. They checked it in and took my $20 deposit. It was a Tuesday and as I was leaving I asked if they thought it would be ready by the weekend. They laughed and said that it would be more like weeks rather than days. It has been 2 1/2 weeks so I stopped in today to check on it and they said that it would be another 6 to 8 weeks most likely. I told them that wasn't acceptable because I had to rent a trimmer for $35 every 2 weeks and I asked for my trimmer and $20 deposit back. They informed me that they don't return deposits. My mower needed a simple part replaced, I was promised it back in a week. 10 days later I called and was told it would be another week. When I called again, I was told it would be ready sometime next week. Over 3 weeks to replace a simple cable. The previous cable lasted over 5 years, here it is 4 months later and 75% of the replacement cable has already unraveled. I called them this week and gave them the above facts and their reply was, "What do you want me to do about it?". Zero customer service, Zero quality control, wish I could give Zero stars. read more

Horrible service. Took two hedge trimmers to get repaired. Both were Ryobi trimmers; same model. The first trimmer that required filter and plug maintenance. Dropped it off February and a month later, they finally made the necessary repairs. They ended up charging me $113.24. Ridiculous, since I bought the part for $179 at Home Depot. Tested it at the Corley shop and seemed to be working fine. And what do you know, the trimmer stops working when I test it at home the day of. I took the trimmer back to have them fix it right and the worker there said he has to ask John the owner and give us a call back. Its May now. You do the math. Item number 2, dropped off the same day in February. Interior motor part stopped working. Again, employee must ask John if its under warranty. Called at least 20 times. FYI they never pick up their phone. I stopped by 6 times. Each time I stopped by I got the response "I'll ask John" or "We are working on it" or the best one was when Bill handed me my dismantled trimmer with parts rolling around the floor telling me, "You can take it back if you want". Spent money and yet to get the trimmers back. If this post helped anyone from avoiding this place, it was worth my time. read more

First time customer. The best service I've had in a long time. I drove from Tucker looking for a part for my Troy Bilt mower. When I said I hated to wait for the order and come back to pick it up he proceed to repair the old part and it's like new. It's a long drive for me but I'm a customer for life. read more

Brought my mower to get tuned etc , went to pick up during business hours and could not pick it up because the person that controlled register was not there not a problem I came back and picked it up stated the engine and it worked fine . BUT I did not try the self driving portion of it which worked fine when I brought it on . I come back into town ready to finally start the season mowing and no Self propel , I'm too old to push it . So I spent 125$ for my lawnmower to be broken . No other explanation. read more

I have read all the bad reviews and was hesitant to go to them, but went anyway. My experience was very different. First time I went I was looking for an air filter for a 1995 Honda generator. The extremely helpful women who waited on me researched what I needed and gave me the actual part number. Even though they did not have what I needed, she found something I could use till an OEM filter could be ordered. I went back latter that day looking to repair an off brand (Chinese) petcock for my generator. The older gentleman helped me find a repair for almost 45 mins and pressure tested the fixed petcock. He did not even want to charge me, but I insisted. During that trip I watched them help two other people with non-standard requests to fix their equipment, which did on the spot. Repairing old small engines is a messy business with parts very hard to find. There will be delays and parts won't always be available. They have earned my business going forward! read more

I had my son drop my mower off here on a Thurs. aft. in April. Monday afternoon I called them to see what they had to say about it. The receptionist informed me that not only had they not even looked at it, that it could be anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks before I got my mower back. She said it was their "busy" time. I told her in that case I was sending my son back to retrieve the mower, and asked for my $25 deposit back. She said I would not get it back as it was a "service" charge. There was zero service done here, just a big hassle for my son to drop it off and then pick it back up. Disgusted. read more

I dropped off a trimmer to be sharpened. They called to say it was ready, but when I arrived next morning at 8:20 the shop was locked up in spite of 8 am open time on signage and ticket provided - wasting 45 minutes. Went back same afternoon, picked up item and complained about opening time. The owner stated that I had an attitude and began cursing and calling me names. I left mentioning I would not be back. Took the trimmer home and it's not cutting any better than before they sharpened. I'll be contacting my bank to do a charge back and recommend others avoid this shop. All I got was disrespectful treatment and poor quality workmanship. read more

We went into Corley on the advice of Howard Brothers. We took our trimmer to Howard Brothers first because they have repairs our mower before and they are fabulous however they don't repair Ryobi products and told us to go up the road. Corley Engine and Mower is AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL. They are rude and know nothing of customer service. They told us the trimmer would be done late next week. We called that Friday and they said it would be done Saturday. I called Saturday and they said it would be early next week. I called Tuesday and they said it would be done tomorrow. We called today and they said it wasn't done when we informed them that they had been giving us the run around his response was let me check and see if it is done and call you back. He then calls us back and says it has been done for a few days and that the repair will be 50 dollars. He originally quoted us 35 and if it would cost more that they would call us. My boyfriend went up there to pick it up made sure he paid the original 35 dollar price. Then when he started it. It didn't work. The man said he could leave it there longer because it must not have been the fuel lines. my boyfriend then said no and now we are out 35 dollars and have a non working trimmer. Thanks Corley. I just picked up my mower from Corley after a Spring tune up and cleaning. The mower looks great and is running at its best. Once again, Corley has done a great job. Two years ago, Corley provided me with service, and It's great to see that they are still providing service and support at such a high level. Keep up the great work! read more

I had took my troy-built trimer here and all I need was a tune up its been there for 4 months. Which is troubling to me. I went up there a week later after taking there and spoke with John . But was so rude and just said its gonna be a week. Im just like wow why couldnt anyone call me yet again he was so just blah and nasty like it wasnt his problem.I called up there and the only person that was even nice enough to try to help me was a young lady I think her name was kim. She took the time to check on my iteam and apologized for the time its takin to get it fixed other then her this places sucks. Yet I still havent gottin it back yet! read more

They repair mowers of all kinds, weed-eaters, blowers and saws. I have seen them repair go carts, four wheelers and carpet cleaning trucks. They fix pressure washers and generators, hedge trimmers, edgers floor waxers and boat motors. I guess any gas powered engine. This is the repair shop that has to take everything the other places can't fix. They are honest and try to give a little extra with each machine they service or repair. I have never had a problem with parts or used equipment purchased there and they do stand behind their repairs. read more

i am a regular customer of this corley and dropped off toro string trimmer more than 6 weeks ago. i was told i will get a call for estimation by old lady. i tried to pick this up 3 times till yesterday afternoon and wasn't ready. technician found it was left without touching it. he asked me who was helping me out when i dropped it off and he will fix it within an hour. it was a old lady who's name was lori i found out later. i came to pick up today and lori was there. as i expected unprofessional work attitude by it was not their fault that i made 3 previous trip to pick up. no apologetic attitude and denied to give manager phone i can contact but she said she was the closest person to manager. she said you don't have to pay but you are not going to get your trimmer period! then laugh at me. she must be retrained for job. it was pretty bad to deal with person like her. i would not recommend corley engine and mower. this will happen to you sooner or later as well. ignorant and incompetent for small repair job. i will buy now one next time. wish i could give zero star. read more
