You do not live in NJ, NY, CT area without a regular visit to the local deli and now Sarasota has a deli worthy of the name. While there are daily specials and a good selection of sandwiches--Cuban, El Paso, Sicilian--my favorites are The New Yorker (hot pastrami and corned beef on rye) and The Dagwood. The people who run this place are very nice and after a few stops you will be acknowledged as a regular. Also available are large salads and fresh soup. Call ahead for pick up. I really like this deli. It is usually very busy so I try to go in mid afternoon. The sandwich selection and prices are reasonable the amount of food. It is small inside but timing it right you will have no trouble getting a seat. It is not open on Sunday. There is outdoor seating and it does a big take out business. I would definitely give it a try if you are looking for casual dining and good deli food. I have been here numerous times and have not been disappointed. read more

This is a small little deli, not unnecessarily fancy like some others I've been to, just a warm, comfortable atmosphere with delicious sandwiches. I stop in every Saturday for the Cuban special, it's delicious! I always place an order for pick up and it's always ready within 10 minuets. The staff is usually very friendly with the exception of the male cashier, who sometimes doesn't smile or come off friendly. Also while waiting in line sometimes he cashes others out before me, that come up to the side counter instead of the front register, which left me really confused??? I'm down here for a winter retreat and wanted a good deli sandwich. I saw this place on Yelp! And decided to try it. The reviews were accurate. They're located in a strip mall behind Sweet Tomatoes. The place was packed for lunch with a waiting line out the door, but the service was quick. Since its a tiny place with limited seating I got my Reuben to go. I thought that the sandwich was a little expensive, $7.29 for the size sandwich that I got, but it was delicious! The corned beef was lean and flavorful, the rye bread was hearty and the sauerkraut was mild. I'll be going back again for something else (or maybe just another Reuben) while I'm down here. read more

Their sandwiches are the best around and service is something other restaurants should consider learning. They remember your name, they remember what you like and what you don't like. Tomatoes are always perfectly ripe, food perfectly prepared fresh right in front of you and with acknowledging that they appreciate your business they give you a free sandwhich on your 10th visit. First time I tried this place, I know i will keep going back. Had a Reuben which was packed overfull of corned beef, nice mild kraut, Swiss cheese and the necessary thousand island dressing, all of it warm and melty. I would recommend calling ahead for takeout, they were super busy when i went at lunchtime, but everything went pretty fast. Its a tiny place at the south end of the mostly vacant strip mall, with tables inside and out. Counter service only. Reasonable prices. Left off the 5th star because the only accompaniment I saw were bags of chips (extra, of course); french fries would be nice, or a few free chips. read more

A really small and busy Deli - closer to what you would expect from a traditional NYC deli. Very clean location - I gave an extra star for that alone. My favorite is the Paisano - but all their specialty sandwiches are delicious. Try one and you will never eat at Subway again - not that you should have in the first place! read more
