The service is to handling a situation is poor. They wouldn't give my money back because they charge my card twice and instead of giving back this Caucasian man his excuse was "the inventory is stocked so unless it was the same day then I would give it back." No you just didn't want to give it back because I am a Black Trans woman. He going to make the assumption I'm stealing alcohol like omg!!!! Rude and VERY disrespectful of him. I will NEVER EVER COME BACK HERE!!! Any Black or LGBTQ+ should NOT come make a purchase here when it double charge your card. The service here has moved toward borderline rude and dismissive. I was running errands in the area, only dropping in to examine updates to their nice non-alcoholic beer selection. I spent north of $50.00, but after my interaction with the monosyllabic and nonchalant cashier, I find myself thinking that I could probably find another store that at least pretends that they appreciate my patronage. I'm not planning on returning anytime soon, but am definitely going to spend my money elsewhere. read more

I returned a wine because is was funky tasting...the kid behind the register said he couldn't give me my money back to which I replied, "I don't want money back, I just was an exchange of wine." Had an awesome experience purchasing for our Holiday party. Bradley is the owner and was completely hands on during the entire process. I wasn't totally sure of my selection and particularly the quantity. He took his time to work with me and make sure I was comfortable with me selection. He even delivered it for me. Wow! What an all inclusive alcoholic dreamland! It's got everything you could ever need to get an alcohol buzz. When I say everything I mean it. Growlers, booze, beer, mixers, an incredible wine line up, and spectacular craft beer selection. This place is like 5000 square feet of pure selection. If you can't find it on the shelf you don't need it. Buy something new and live on the edge yo. I even met the Oldest Whisky distiller in the world today! What an honor! I actually love Wild Turkey 101 already and now it's even cooler that I have seen him and his son in person! I wish I had have had him sign a bottle. This place has become my go-to. Broad selection, personable, knowledgeable people, great prices... Not fancy, and not gritty, but a solid, middle of the road place for regular people. Corks definitely has a great selection of anything the buyer may be on the search/need for, but awful customer service. It hasn't always been this way, walking past customers without greeting them in or when they walk up to the counter is a priority they have failed with me and 2 other customers (1 was rushed to pay ; cashier was heavily breathing while awaiting her to pull out her funds) who were bothered by this as well. Best selection of wine and beer in the area. Prices are decent - cheaper than the grocery store. Service was excellent - they have a growler station. I would frequent this place if it was closer. They even have Carlo Rossi Chianti - great cheap red - Colletta's house wine. Next time I will shop this place - Meiomi was $16.99 - liberty school cab $11.99. Cork's has two locations in Germantown, though I have only been to one- and only for wine. The store itself is large and laid out well. They have a great selection of wine and lots of new labels I have yet to try. Their staff is very friendly and they have a great working knowledge of their wines. They are always available to make recommendations or point you in the right direction. I've been super satisfied with all their recommendations! They host (free) events throughout the year to allow you to learn more about the wineries/regions that they carry and try new wines. Pricing is competitive with other stores I have frequented. It is nice having them in the neighborhood. read more

I have been shopping this store since they opened. Have always been ok with it until today. They offer competitive pricing on most things UNLESS you special order something. Even if it is one of the brands that they currently carry and you only asked them to get a you a different variety. The first time I went in to pick up the order, they had ordered the wrong thing. So I waited about 2 weeks for 2 bottles of something they told me would take about 3 days to get. Ok, I can live with that, but when I finally did get the call that it was in, I went to pick it up and they added 25% to the special order. I was not thinking at the time and I went back and that is when they told me. Had they told me at the beginning when I asked them to order I would never have asked them to order it. Due to this, I will not be going back. I feel as if I should have been told on the front end. There are too many liquor stores who would love to have my business. And I do a lot of it.... If I could have given NO STARS, I would have. Customer Service - talk to your customers, let them know what is going on rather than just talking to each other the whole time the customers are in there. Some of these employees (one female in particular) needs an attitude adjustment and realize that the customers keep her in a job. Get her nose out of the air. read more

I love this huge beautiful liquor store! I've been here only 2 or 3 times, but always find new varieties of wine, or new labels that I haven't tried before. I am getting a wine cooler for Mother's Day (the family finally listened!) and went here to buy several bottles of whites to fill it up. It was Cinco de Mayo, and they had 2 flavors of organic margaritas for sampling at the front of the store. Their growler station is huge, and you can taste beer as well. I love that this store is locally owned by a suburban Memphis family (and suburban Memphians love their drink) and has a welcoming staff, though the store itself is pretty darn big for a store in this area. Large signs hanging overhead point out the white from red wines, vodka from whiskey. I found 3 new types of grain-free vodka to try, including a SWEET POTATO vodka! I can't wait to have a tasting with some friends. The great part about this store is that the location is immediately next to Target and near Malco in the Village Shops of Forest Hill, so it is convenient for moms on the go, or dads-who-can't-even-see-another-princess-movie. Sprouts farm fresh grocery is going in soon in the same strip, in fact the sign is already up! Come check out Corks, and put it on your wine and liquor store rotation. Prices vary- I found some reasonable wines and some very hard-to-find aged cabernets over $250, so there is something for every drinker. This store itself is a reason to imbibe! read more

Friendly staff, expansive liquor and beer (bottles/cans/draft selection, generally very good prices.The store is very clean, well organized, and spacious. Their bourbon selections are among the best in the city, with generally fair to good pricing. Their growler station is also excellent... well laid out with good pricing on a large array of micro and local brews. In addition, they offer specialty clubs for bourbon/wine/beer with special offers, limited releases, and more. One thing to note: Certain specialty/limited items can be marked up a bit high. An example being the recent Bourbon County Stout release where they priced bottles at $14ish when everyone else around town charged the more standard $10-11. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite spots in the city. Definitely worth checking out! Would go 4.5 stars if I could... 4 for now. Great shop. read more

I feel like the Germantown consumer is the victim of predatory pricing. When corks first opened their selection was great and pricing was 10-20% below the competition. Now they drove competitors out of the market "Germantown Baptist Wine" and gave taken their pricing way up. When asking clerks about their pricing they have a pat answer..."it is because wine is now in the grocery store". Bologna. Clerks have been well trained and wine enthusiasts will be buying on line. read more

Great place to shop for craft beer. This place keeps on growing and growing. Growler section is one of the best I have seen, plus having the option of 32-oz or 64-oz growlers are great. They put in a single bottle sale section which is a must for craft beer people to try out new items that have not before without having to spend the money on a 4-pk or 6-pk. read more

Stopped by Corks to pick up a few items for a New Year's Day brunch. One item was a 4 pack of the little bottles of Bailey's. When I was told the total, I asked how much the 4 pack was, and I was told he rang me up for 4 individual bottles (even though these were pre-packaged 4 packs) because that's how they do it. What he tried to charge me nearly $13 for is $6.99 at Poplar Pike Liquors. To top it off I wasn't offered nor given a receipt. I wonder how many people have been overcharged and didn't notice? Definitely not worth the headache. And yes, other employees were at the register when this occurred and no other customers, so had he been wrong (and this wasn't the Cork's pricing policy) any of the other people working could have easily corrected him and charged the right amount. read more

I tried Corks for the first time, hoping to find a better selection of beers for a party I was attending. I was amazed at the selection, including Xingu, a Brazilian offering that's a personal favorite but hard to find, as well as many others. We've enjoyed shopping there, but will not be back. Don't buy a gift certificate there because after trying to redeem one three different times & being told it would be straightened out & to come back, it never was. So just pay cash or use a credit card. It's not worth the hassle & obviously the manager has some things to learn about running a business. But he's young. Hopefully he will get there. read more
