I made a reservation for Saturday 6pm. Arrived 2 minutes to 6. Reservations aren't required, but encouraged. There were a couple of people at the bar, others leaving, and one other seated party. So it wasn't packed on arrival, but once we were seated others began to arrive. The dining room isn't very big, it's quaint. Low lighting, white table cloth, candle lit, date night ambiance. Love it! Music playing: R&B jazz instrumentals; a little on the loud side, but not a deal breaker. There was no live music while we were there, but they do offer that on certain days. There is one unisex restroom, It appeared clean and nicely decorated, as was the rest of the restaurant. This place specializes in Charcuterie, meats, cheeses, wine, etc. But we were simply on the hunt for the best steak in Albany. Our server Hannah, was excellent! I hope she's there when I go back. She, and the rest of the staff were all perfect; a breath of fresh air in this customer service drought of a town. Hannah explained the menu, specials, what they offer on certain days, and everything else we wanted to know. She checked on us often, and we wanted for nothing. My husband and I don't drink, so we got a couple bottles of sparkling water and a soda. (This day they offered Pepsi products) For starters we had the Korean Duck Tacos and Bruschetta Al Pomodoro. The sauce on the tacos was a lot sweeter than I expected, but still delicious. Perfect tender meat, and choice toppings. The Bruschetta, was pretty good. But not anything I'd just HAVE to order again. My husband got a Medium Well Ribeye, collards, and creamed potatoes. He said the steak was a HIT:tender and flavorful. No complaints. He enjoyed the collards, and potatoes, as well. I had Lemon Herb half Chicken, Broccoli, and Creamed potatoes. The chicken, and lemon sauce were AMAZING! The chicken seemed brined, baked low and slow, so good. The broccoli tasted steamed and seasoned nicely. I'm not a fan of the potatoes. While they had great flavor, even without the lemon sauce; it was the texture. They were too loose. I prefer a thicker creamed/mashed potato. This establishment gets five stars, because customer service was exceptional, they go out of their way to give you a fine dining experience, and the food was overall fantastic! If you're in the area and in the mood for Charcuterie, or on the hunt for the best steak in Albany like we were: Come here! I do believe you won't be disappointed:) read more

This restaurant is a real hidden gem in Albany Georgia that we originally discovered quite by accident while traveling. We were intrigued by the name and wanted to give it a go. The restaurant is very cozy with dim lighting and soft music playing in the background. This was our third visit to this restaurant and each time we have enjoyed a delicious meal. We chose stuffed mushrooms as our appetizer along with two robust cocktails. They offer an extensive wine selection as well as a full bar. For our entrees we enjoyed a very tasty stuffed shrimp linguini and an interesting salmon Wellington with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. Both portions were plenty for us to thoroughly enjoy! No room for desert this trip; next time we must plan our dinner meal just a little bit better. First off I appreciate the effort they are putting into creating a fine dining experience. I'm entering your greeted warmly seated at your table and offered a drink. I would say that the weight staff needs a little more training to get up to speed on the items on the menu as we were asking questions about the charcuterie board and the waitress did not seem to know what some of the cheeses were so it left a very vague understanding of the cheeses so we have to Google for more information. My wife ordered the fillet which was done very well, but be prepared for the market price as that's not listed on the menu. I'm sure you could ask about it. The charcuterie board seemed very sparse to us as we've had charcuterie boards at a lot of other establishments and portion wise for what you're paying for it just did not add up to us. Since moving from a large city, we were a little concerned when we walked in....The chef knows what he's doing. Our charcuterie board hit the mark, mussels were rich and delicious, steaks cooked flawlessly and by GOD, get the carrot and beet side!! Who knew a small restaurant in Albany, Georgia, would have the best lobster bisque I've ever had in my life (and this is coming from someone who has spent a lot of time in New England)?! Randomly found this beautiful establishment while staying in Albany, it's a must if you are staying for a night or two. They do have a dress code posted on the door, like not cut off shirts and such. My boss had shorts and flip flops on and they allowed us to enter. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, dressed appropriately and professional. The ambience is fairytale twinkling lights but modern. The bottles on the tables have little lights to help with the overall ambience. We all ordered a "large" cheese plate, and I was over the moon when I cautiously asked if they had a gluten free cracker option and sure enough THEY DO! I enjoyed all of my cheese except one, the onion, the meats I selected were perfect and the honey was pure and sweet. A co worker had the candied pecans and wowza! Perfect texture and flavor ( I was allowed to try one!) They do have more than wine, I was with two beer drinkers who had no issue finding a drink and I ordered a seltzer, which I believe was a local one. All was good. They must be known for their steaks bc I saw quite a few come out from the kitchen, and they looked mouth watering. If you eat like I do, could easily be split between two people or two meals. Albany is home for me and Corks makes me glad I'm local! This is an experience. The food was phenomenal. Everything, and I mean every bite we ate was delicious. The charcuterie board (we did the make your own) was yummy and there are so many things we still can go try. The Le Roule Garlic and Herd cheese was our favorite tonight, but all three we tried were delightful. The crostini with smoked duck breast melted in your mouth. The combination with the bacon and balsamic onion jam was incredible. We also had the lamb chop special. It is honestly some of the best lamb I've had. Tender and cooked perfectly I could not stop myself from chewing the bone! Let me say that I don't drink, so I can't comment on the wine, but the food, atmosphere and service are worth a trip! Leandra was our server and she was a delight. She was knowledgeable and fun! We ended with desert and could not decide if the creme brûlée cheesecake or the lemon mascarpone cake with blueberry whipped cream was better. I visited Corks on a Saturday night with another couple. We really enjoyed our experience. Our server Ally was very kind and knowledgeable. She gave us good knowledge on the menu items so we could make a good decision. I ordered the shrimp and scallop risotto which was the special of the night. I have never had risotto but this was cooked well and very flavorful. I also had a wine slushy which was not pictured it was pretty good also. I'm shocked this place received so many positive reviews. Food: cheese selection was pretty good but they were out of many options. Plating/presentation was basic and the board appeared empty despite ordering many cheeses. They were out of several cheeses and meats. The portion sizes for the charcuterie board are meager. They put cold bread and ritz crackers...I was shocked. Ritz! ...this isn't a lunch-able. Duck tacos weren't bad though, actually pretty good. There are no vegetarian food options outside of cheese. We asked for a togo box and we're brought a cafeteria style styrofoam container and nothing for the sauces which isn't consistent with a higher price category establishment. The mark up on glasses of wine were similar to higher end Atlanta steakhouses, which this isn't. Decor: they were going for classy, but unfortunately fell short. Lighting is awkward, with LED spot lights. Linens appear cheap, something you would use for a kids birthday party. Chairs are cheap and uncomfortable. I'm all for budget decor for local places, but if you're going to charge premium prices, I expect premium ambiance. Service: The waitress was really nice but had minimal knowledge of cheese or wine and was really not able to help us make our selections. Overall, I've been here a few times and this is one of the places we take recruits, and while I appreciate what they are trying to do, they far short in every category. Prices are stupid high for what's essentially a hole in wall place. Presentation was weak. We spent around $300 each time and left a nice tip but we're thoroughly unimpressed. I really hope they take the feedback, because I really want this place to succeed. We need a solid wine and cheese place in Albany, but as of now, this isn't it. read more

If you're looking for a date night spot, a girls night out or even just a casual spot to grab a snack, Corks Wine & Charcuterie is where it's at. However I must warn you... we came for the board and wine.. but our hearts were SOLD after tasting the 28oz ribeye (yes, 28oz). I've been to my fair share of steakhouses and this ribeye was spectacular. I am so pleased to find this place in Albany! To be honest I wasn't expecting much, but how pleasantly surprised I was! The cheese and charcuterie board was phenomenal, and the best part about it was we got to completely customize it by choosing everything!! The wine selection was amazing. These people get it!! I have been to other charcuterie speciality restaurants and the only wine on offer is cheap wine. I like that Corks offers a wide range and variety of wines. Not only were the boards and wine amazing, but the wagyu was extraordinarily cooked! Lastly, and certainly not least, the service was above and beyond. The portion size does not match the price. Additionally, they were out of at least 5/8 options for cheese and meats. There is something special about a place that you can just go in and feel like you're in a different area of the world. I'm literally from Albany Georgia but when I go into this establishment I do not feel that I am still in Albany Georgia. I came here with a friend, we had been trying to come for months;finally made it. It was such an experience better than the boards that I make it home. I found out that every week they change their menu or whatever specialty item that they may be cooking and serving. On this particular day they had smoked duck tacos!! They were amazing !! I love tacos and I love duck everything! The tacos come with the smoked duck of course, a pickled cabbage I want to say, some water chestnuts and it also had this sweet sauce almost like a sweet Thai chili sauce but thinner and it taste better. The tacos were amazing and if you ever catch them at Corks again, you should definitely get them!! Also they were topped with an orange and that was actually pretty good when I ate it all together. We also had the cheeseboard. With the cheeseboard you get to pick four cheeses. We picked pimento because it was for my friend who is a vegetarian and she loves pimento cheese the only gripe was their pimento cheese had bacon in it so be careful. We also had the Sweet Grass Tomme cheese, Hickory smoked Gruyere, and the Le Roule garlic and herb. I definitely recommend getting the balsamic garlic and herb preserve. Candied pecans also were on the board and I am not a pecan eater. BUT!!! These candied pecans were life!! Dessert I had the Key Lime pie because I am a key lime fanatic. It even comes with a candied slice of key lime. Plated beautifully and tasted heavenly!The chef who I think was named Tony (I'm so sorry if this is not correct) was so friendly and came out several times to make sure we were enjoying what he prepared. And we definitely did. They have a great wine selection and Heather was very knowledgeable about her wines. Kudos to her for also knowing so much about the Georgia produced wines and where the wineries are located. I definitely will be going to a couple of those in the next few months. Don't forget to get a wine slushee, you will not be disappointed! Inside is decorated nicely, I honestly enjoy that it is a small limited seating establishment. We have been to this restaurant several times but last night was the final straw. We were seated and ordered drinks which took a while to come. We ordered an appetizer charcuterie board and our dinner order at the same time just to make sure the order got in. We received our appetizer in a reasonable time and while we were eating it a 5 top was seated next to us. We waited and waited for our dinner only to watch the 5 top get served their dinner. We had been seated for 1 1/2 hours when we decided it was long enough. Could not find waitress so I went to bar and asked for the tab to be closed out so I could leave which she did and we left. No management intervened or even acted concerned. I just don't think this was a good experience for a restaurant whose food has been great in the past. Customer service is important also. I am editing this review simply because the owner contacted me and explained the situation they were in last night when we had a bad experience. Making your way to the back, you reach the bar and small lounge area. Corks was full at 8 pm on a Saturday but we grabbed a glass of wine and sat in the lounge area until a table became available. I was very impressed with the knowledge shared by our charcuterie board creator. He knew every detail about the meats, the cheeses, the preserves, what to pair, and even where it came from. The candied pecans with goat cheese and smoked duck breast with apple maple bacon preserve are my two personal paired favorites, but feel free to build your own board or pick from a selection. Bruschetta al Pomodoro was delicious. If you're picky about wine selection, this establishment aims to please by the glass or the bottle. A lengthy list is provided. If hand crafted wine slushies are more your style, those are available as well. Craft, domestic, and imported beers are also available if wine isn't for you.
