We had only been here once before and it was fine. We stopped in to bide time until the Cornelia Arts Building gallery openings. They have great specials and art for sale! I sat at the bar and ordered a Cream Ale for $3, and checked out the baseball playoffs. The minimum for credit cards is $10, so we added wine and hot pretzels. A local struck up a conversation about old times, in a non-weird/flirty way, and bought us a drink! The lady bartender didn't seem bothered by it so we were ok with it too. Some tvs had old 80s movies on, and there was music and a pool table. The crowd was small, which was fine. The owner came in at some point, and we met him! We didn't take pictures though, which I am kind of regretting. He is not from Ireland but the name and some of the decorations are a nice tribute.

My home away from home. This is the pub I go back to time and time again because of the people. All of the staff are super friendly and kind, and even if I stop for 1 drink, I always stay for more because I get lost in conversation. You can play pool, request to change the channel to a specific game, and they also have snacks if you get hungry.

Nice little neighborhood bar with an entire bookshelf of games that bar patrons can play. While here recently, we enjoyed Connect Four and attempted to play Boggle (no instructions left in Boggle so we gave up almost immediately - Connect Four was easier for us to comprehend at that point of the evening). There's a few tables up front and then a long, narrow hall where the bar is, and the back opens up to another area where some pool tables are. Nice spot when you're looking for a few casual drinks in the hood.

Love this bar and it will love you.

I love this bar. Great prices, low-key environment, and most importantly free shuffleboard.

Never crowded, right under the Addison brown line and has a great selection of super cheap beer and quality beer. What's not to like?

All because a few years back my brother took me to his favorite cocktail bar in Detroit and I hated…read morethe drinks and was a sourpuss about it he usually refuses to take me to his other treasured places. However I think the holiday spirit got to him a couple of weeks ago because he took me to Consignment which is one of he and his wife's faves. The name is as it says - the bar doubles as a secondhand store and whatever is on display is for sale. I adored it! The service was awesome - I always love chopping it up with Black bartenders - and the crowd was very very queer. I was legitimately in heaven. So much doesn't feel safe right now - especially with the J6 goon squad running amok in Chicago trafficking people. It was nice to be among my people enjoying great drinks in a buzzy atmosphere. Because we are old, we got there by 730 on a Saturday and surprisingly it was already packed! Patience won the day though and within 45 minutes we snagged some stools against the wall. I had a great time here and hope to return!

What a cute place! Stopped in for happy hour on a Tuesday around 430pm. Deals are pretty good…read more Cocktails for $8, draft beers for $6 and there was a deal on wine too. The place had a few other small groups around with two bartenders available. Service was top notch and the bartender we spoke with was very knowledgeable about the menu and spirits in general. You could tell he took pride in and enjoyed mixology.

"Welcome back." I…read morehesitate. I know with absolute certainty that I have never stepped foot in Chicago. Yet, the bartenders greet us with such a warm and friendly energy that I know with absolute certainly that I have been a regular at this bar for years. Decades. Centuries. I know within my soul that this was my go-to bar in a past life (and hopefully in the next). Just as welcoming as the awesome people are the $1 PBRs and $3 shots of tequila. And of course they hand out free hot dogs every night at midnight, which in my (intoxicated) mind was cemented as the definitive Chicago dog, even if it comes with no toppings whatsoever. And fittingly complementing the amazing energy of the bar is a 10 hour Youtube video of that memed Ukrainian kid dancing at a club playing endlessly on the TVs. Rocking sunglasses and looking like a stud, absolutely grooving without a single care in the world, and effortlessly matching every single song on the bar's playlist. That kid truly embodies the spirit of this bar. No matter what day it is, what time of day it is, or who visits, the bar's energy always works. Vibing to Black Eyed Peas on a Monday night never felt better. Imma be... back one day, rest assured. I genuinely can't wait for the next time I'm greeted with, "Welcome back."

We sat in the back patio area. The patio was covered and heated, supposedly. It was cold back there to me. They have $30 bottomless mimosas for brunch from 11-3. I ordered the chicken sandwich and added an egg. I also had the hot tots that came with queso dip. The food was really good actually. The chicken sandwich surprised me at how flavorful it was. Service was okay. The kitchen seemed swamped, so it took awhile for food to come out. They didn't check on us super frequently. Overall, the food was good, and the people that I went with enjoyed the bottomless mimosa deal.

Overall it's fine. Music was loud, so a little hard to have a conversation while eating. Service…read morewas decent. Food was just ok, definitely overpriced. Probably best to stick to the steaks for the mains, which is their specialty I believe. The steak sandwich (lomito) was fine. Fries are fine. The milanesa was just ok--didn't have enough seasoning. Drinks can vary, and have specific descriptions, but they are not all made how the menu says, like ice and garnishes. El chato was tasty, but the Buenos Aires de Noche was missing something. Empanadas are fantastic BUT they were out of a bunch of them and they just opened for the evening, which was unfortunate. Desserts are solid, including the flan, alfajores, mil hojas, and the vainilla y coco pastel. I recommend saving room for dessert!

Really great neighborhood spot for dinner or drinks…read more I went here last night for my birthday with my best friend.. we always do a little dinner just the two of us. This was my first time at Barra Ñ even though I've heard about it many times. It's a dark and moody vibe inside, the bar was lively and busy, and yet the table areas were pretty quiet and chill. Service was solid, all of our requests were handled quickly and pleasantly. Dani, who greeted me upon arrival and checked in on us several times, was a real sweetie. He brought a wonderful levity and energy to the entire feel of the place. He was also very helpful and constantly keeping an eye out for anything anyone needed. The food was solid. The filet was excellent and a very generous portion. Perfectly cooked to my request. The mashed potatoes were great and I ordered a side of the mushroom sauce that comes with another dish to enjoy with the potatoes and that was a great call. That mushroom sauce is so savory and delightful! Hoping to come back soon to try different drinks and more apps. The birthday dessert was very kind of the staff and really lovely!
