No longer the comfy hole in the wall neighborhood bar, but your average-could-be-anyplace bar. The remodel is nice. It's clean. The bathrooms are big. The bar is nice and open. Very chic and clean. This used to be a place where I would go 3 or 4 nights a week, sometimes more. It was dank, there was a long list of usuals that I played pool with and we knew each others names. Then the CTA took 4 feet of the bar for the first 20 feet. The only thing that is left of the old Cork is the wonderful owner, the neon sign in the window and the lip around the bar. While it's nice to see the owner doing well, and making this a "nice clean place to leave his daughter" it's disappointing to see all that history thrown away. RIP Cork of the good old days, hello hipster hangout. read more

A great local dive spot. They have pool and shuffleboard (pool a dollar a game, shuffleboard for free). They have amazingly cheap beer deals and also high quality beers on tap. The service is always friendly and they also serve some snacks and food here. They also have some cool lounge chairs and tons of old board games to play while drinking. read more

I used to live a few blocks away from Cork and we would go there on the nights that we didn't feel like venturing out to wrigleyville or we just didn't want to deal with the crowds found at other bars. Cork Lounge is a great bar with a relaxed atmosphere, and beautiful wood bar. It is never overcrowded and there is always a table available. The bartenders are super nice and fun to talk to. Unlike a crowded bar where you can't get the attention of the bartender long enough to get a drink, the bartenders at Cork Lounge are always on top of getting patrons another drink and even have time to talk to you about the vast selection of beers they carry. That is another plus to this bar- there are a lot of different beers you can try and they are reasonably priced as well. Cork Lounge also has plenty of things to entertain you. They have pool tables in the back as well as board games up front. It is fun to get friends together for a night of drinking and games. All in all, I would definately check out this laid back bar with a lot to offer next time you find yourself off of the brown line Addison stop. read more

The Cork Lounge is an awesome neighborhood bar. When I lived nearby, I frequented with my roommates. Now, I live farther away but it's a perfect spot when you have some time to kill on random weeknights, so I still come back. Cool little watering holes are a dime a dozen in Chicago, but the relaxed, inviting atmosphere of this neighborhood is really captured here. This place has a good crowd on the weekends, and everyone is always friendly here, but my only tip would be to order your next drink before you finish/close your tab as you order your final drink because the bartender is often alone and busy. read more

My broke ass was loving the uber-cheap options. The chalkboard advertises all the specials and options available. I was a little miffed with Cork not carrying High Life (WTF.) but I rebounded nicely with a Coors Light. As a woman in her 30s, I was more feeling the front section of the bar. Great experience at this place. Really cool vibe, cool people. Different areas you can chill at or you can belly up to the bar. Staff was awesome Wednesday night (11-31)! I wanted a quick nite cap after exiting the brownline from a long nite at work (I'm in the industry) so I decided to stop in. Nice place cool selection of beer, people having fun BUT I sat down and watched the one drunk bartender drink, the bar back wash glasses in front of me and the other bartender take care of the one side of the bar. I sat for 10 min. I got up to use the bathroom then came back to the one side the bartender was only serving and waiting some more cause now she was talking to someone for more than 3 minutes more that I waited. The bartender didn't acknowledge that I was there, the drunk didn't know what was going on and the barback in the Adidas jacket didn't even look at me and tell the bartenders that there was someone waiting for drink. This is your average tiny Chicago bar, its small, clean and beer is cheap. They do not have a kitchen, but will serve you frozen pizzas. This is a great place to grab a drink any night of the week and seems to always have a place to sit. However one Friday night I wondered in here at about midnight, I asked them how late they were open, which was two o'clock so I thought I had plenty of time. I played a bunch of music and was about half way through when she shut it off at about one o'clock and she decided to close the bar. I could understand this if I was the only one in here however there were several people still inside, playing music and drinking!! I'm sure this is not what the owner would want... The Cork is a great hole in the wall. When you walk in you feel like maybe the music should stop and everyone looks at you for a split second but that passes quickly when you burrow up to the bar to get a tasty $2 PBR that are always on special. Thursday night I was in this bar and had terrible service. First I saw a man ask for a beer and was told to wait a minute which was 10 mins as she left the bar to go into a room. Then he asked again and he was given a dirty look guest he was not the right color. Didn't really know what to expect walking in but it's close to the Addison stop and located right under the bridge. Walked in on a late Thursday and had great service from the start. I used to be a fan of this place when it was a practically empty dive bar full of talkative old people and a juke box full of memories. I would come and speak some Ukrainian with Natalka, the bartender, and feel like it was my neighborhood Cheers. This place blows. it is spacious and they have a Ms Pac man. That is about it along with the cheap beer. The time I went these people were hogging the pool table talking more than playing. The server was awful just paying attention to his friends and they place reeked like half of the tap was spilling on the floor. I've been coming to this bar for a few years now and on a very infrequent basis. Well, I just moved around the corner and am looking forward to making this my local. They have a great selection of beers on tap, decent daily specials and a handful of beers are 2 bucks every day! Can't beat that!! Cheap beer and clean bathrooms are sometimes hard to find. This place has both plus cool bartenders. I wish I lived closer as this seems like the perfect low key place to grab a drink any night of the week. There was something kinda sterile about it though that messed with the vibe of the place. I happened upon the cork lounge when I was about to hop on the brown line one night. I made the mistake of going to Goldies that night. I normally like Goldies but on this night the illegitimate son of Scott hall was working there. He wanted me to give him tips before he got me my drinks. I gave him a special one finger salute as i walked out the door. Any way back to the cork. This place is very laid back and I felt very comfortable. The bartender provided great service. He got a nice tip at the end of the night. I will be heading out here quite often and for me that is really saying something. read more

I love the Cork Lounge. Great beer selection and bartenders you can have a real conversation with in a casual and comfy setting. It is easy to get to from the brown line, literally right next to the train. I was just at the Cork lounge to hear the rock band they had that night and have a few pints of guinness. We were all the way in the back by the band all night, but then again we prefer to rock out than sip wine in front where its quiet. The place was obviously just rebuilt as the washrooms don't smell like a dumpster like most places and there's no damn old rank smoke smell like every other place has. Since I just quit, again, it was nice not to be tortured with every breath. Long story short: next to brownline stop, cool people but a bit crowded, lots of taps, lots of room, clean, and I'll be back for the $4 guinness specials... read more
