All because a few years back my brother took me to his favorite cocktail bar in Detroit and I hated the drinks and was a sourpuss about it he usually refuses to take me to his other treasured places. However I think the holiday spirit got to him a couple of weeks ago because he took me to Consignment which is one of he and his wife's faves. The name is as it says - the bar doubles as a secondhand store and whatever is on display is for sale. I adored it! The service was awesome - I always love chopping it up with Black bartenders - and the crowd was very very queer. I was legitimately in heaven. So much doesn't feel safe right now - especially with the J6 goon squad running amok in Chicago trafficking people. It was nice to be among my people enjoying great drinks in a buzzy atmosphere. Because we are old, we got there by 730 on a Saturday and surprisingly it was already packed! Patience won the day though and within 45 minutes we snagged some stools against the wall. My lovely wife and I checked out Consignment Lounge on a rainy Saturday afternoon recently. We had heard about a mysterious bar on Diversey that also offered vintage items on display that were also on sale, so we had to pay this place a visit. There's a bar and some seating options in the front room. The back room looks like your elder relatives' basement with random stuff on display like clothing, buttons, books about weather vanes, and even some baseball cards. They have a back patio too, and there was a food popup going on during our visit though we did not try anything. We each enjoyed Maplewood Son of Juice brews in these vintage-y glasses, and also some cups of water. We wonder how well the secondhand merchandise moves, and hey you just might want to buy that ceramic camel on display after downing a few adult beverages. read more

What a cute place! Stopped in for happy hour on a Tuesday around 430pm. Deals are pretty good. Cocktails for $8, draft beers for $6 and there was a deal on wine too. The place had a few other small groups around with two bartenders available. Service was top notch and the bartender we spoke with was very knowledgeable about the menu and spirits in general. I've mostly come for the Pierogi Papi pop-ups (run don't walk) but even without them it's a really chill spot with good vibes for a drink and plenty of cute little tchotchkes to look at. Service has been great every time. read more

Consignment Lounge is a cozy, chic bar for sipping and marveling at thrifty goods. Step inside & it feels like you've entered a friend's home- it's warm, quirky and trendy (in a relatable way). It's especially homey with the current holiday decor! The cocktails are good. The decor is superb- it's clear the owners put in a ton of detail, from the wooden cutout wall pieces to the custom neon sign out front. There are some character quirks that make it really special, too: glass cases of collectibles built into the bar. Miller Highlife in glass bottles. A beer & shot experience called the Elbow Bump, which appears to be a take on the Chicago Handshake. Even a silly wifi password. The place is quaint- I'd guess it seats about 30. It's perfect for a date or catching up with some pals. You can buy most of the items in the bar- just shop it up and add 'em to your bar tab! This is a new favorite spot, for sure :) read more

FREAKING OBSESSED with this establishment and the model. Came at the recommendation of a local and it did not disappoint. EVERYTHING IS FOR SALE? How great is that? Their slogan is "More things, more joy" and I have to say I really agree. The drinks are also yummy: got the Prairie Dawn and the man behind the bar was so stinking nice. I felt bad it was just him on a busy Saturday afternoon but he did alright! The back room is more a lounge area that has been styled with all these lovely vintage items and some couches in the center. I wouldnt call this place cozy per se, but there was something familiar and comfortable about all the stuff on the walls and the lighting/music volume. I found it incredibly inviting. I like the novelty of "everything is for sale" and would like to think they sell stuff off the walls. we got a few rounds of the Yuzu Ricardo draft cocktail. Well balanced and easily enjoyable. Music was neither commanding or detracting to the ambiance which honestly says to me that both music selection and volume control were very calculated. I really appreciate that someone put thought into the idea that this bar is going to incubate an easy/fun place to have drink and conversation. 10/10 stars. read more

This cozy bar popped up right after I moved to Logan. It's grandma and grandpas living-room perfection. It's a bar and thrift shop in one! What more can you ask for?
