Ok pastries (I'd give them 3) but you have to deal with patrons like these two privileged people who cut in front of a line of twenty people who had been waiting for twenty minutes and placed an order even though they were told there was a line.They were repeatedly told they cut and did not care. Nor did the employees. Then they had an employee named Erin who escorted them out and said it was ok because they were old even though some of the other people who were in line were old as well. As a baking enthusiast, I was ecstatic to find this bakery on Yelp that had the same name as me. There were many different options to choose from, both savory and sweet, and prices were very reasonable. I got the Orange Chocolate Chip Muffin ($2.75) and I loved how moist it was, and that they used couverture chocolate (essentially large chocolate chips) because you get big chunks of chocolate with each bite. The Blackberry & Blueberry Scone ($2.75) was also delicious, with a nice crunch coming from the sprinkled sugar on top. I got an Oatmeal Raisin Cookie ($1.75) for the long journey back to Hawaii, and even after two days, the large (and heavy) cookie stayed nice and chewy. Day Old Items Sold as Fresh Be advised that this cafe presents their bakery items as "fresh". I have bought a bran muffin that was hard as a rock. Today, I tried again. I asked if the poppyseed muffin I was buying was fresh. I was told that it was. After getting to my car, I checked. Hard as a rock again. Corina Bakery is incredible!! I attended a lunch and needed to bring something vegan. I ordered vegan carrot cake and red velvet cupcakes and wasn't sure how it would taste. Took it to the party and it was delicious, moist and if I didn't know better I would not have guessed it was vegan. Incredible!!!! Also tried their enormous bran muffins which are delicious, scones, cookies, and savory pastries. Everything in this bakery is top notch and so delicious! My DIL is vegan so we purchase vegan cake for any birthday celebration. We have sampled cakes from other venues with less than satisfactory results. We have been delighted with every cake we have gotten from Corina's. The choice is huge and everything is delicious. For a weekend celebration, I e-mail our order on the preceding Monday and it is ready to pick up in time for the event. Corina's calls to verify the order shortly after it is placed on-line. They respond quickly if I have a question after the order is placed. We have never experienced a mistake. The cake is always the highlight of our birthdays. The only complaint I have (and this isn't Corina's fault), is that parking (for pick-up) can be miserable. There is street parking available but it is often taken. There are two pay lots but I balk at going through the hassle of paying (you can't just put coins in a machine any more) to make a quick trip into the bakery. Recently, I have had my husband drive so he can drop me off to pick up our order. Sometimes, he can find a close place to park. Otherwise, he drives around the block until I am ready to be picked up. read more

Nice little bakery in downtown Tacoma near Wright Park. The Good- A lot of goodies to choose from. Free WiFi and alcoholic beverages if you so choose. Custom desserts if you need. The Bad- Covid seems to have raised prices everywhere and here is no exception. A bit high on some items, coffee still cheap and good. The Ugly- Observed employees with masks down talking and handling food while waiting to pay. Whether it be improper training or supervision, we all need to take COVID seriously. The cheesecake was rich, super creamy and the strong lemon/blueberry fruity flavor combo was amazing. Not to mention the pretty sparkly decorations on top. 1. We don't get to Tacoma often but when we do we will go out of our way for the baked goods at Corina. 2. They have both standard cakes and desserts and vegan cakes that are every bit as delicious as the standard cakes. We had vegan orange and chocolate cake that I was so good that no one would ever think it was vegan. I am not vegan myself and have tried both kinds. It's that good. 3. Corina Bakery has a great selection of vegan and vegan gluten free options. Brownies, cookies, butter croissant (vegan!). I also tried some non vegan items which were also delicious. The cereal cake ball was moist and really tasted like a bite of fruity pebbles. They didn't have any vegan GF cake slices at the moment but the cakes they had in display looked delicious. I'm not sure if the workers are rude or racist!! I'm thinking a bit of both!! Seriously, I have been to this bakery on several different occasions at multiple times of the day, and EVERY time the service was horrible! I often feel like they feel I should be paying them to shop there!! I went in most recently on Friday, the 27th around 3:30 pm and I was greeted rudely by a young lady with a French braid!! Seriously? Why? The lady she helps just before me received a warm reception (at least in my opinion), however, I did not. I purchased a few baked items and received a short, cold answer when I asked about one of the pastries. Before this visit, I spent $92.00 on cakes that we're molded, for which I received a refund. During the purchase of the moldy cakes, I received the same type of service this time from a young to middle age guy (who I assume was or is a manager)!! I can go on and on about the mistreatments I've experienced here at Carina's!! I keep telling myself, as well as friends keep telling me not to shop or support them ( but they are the only French bakery in the areas, and although the baked goods at times are subpar at best I like my baked goods), however, I do believe enough is enough. I'm writing this review as a warning to potential customers and as an advisory to the owner or owner(s) about the horrible customer service that we experienced here every visit and the moldy goods that are sold!! None of it is acceptable!! I would truly like to see some diversity reflected in the staff and training on appropriate customer service those things would be a good start!! We luuuuuuurvs Corina Bakery. On account of it being located next door to Grand Cinema, we had come in several times before a movie in order to enjoy a cupcake and a cup of tea, or perhaps a slice of cake to share if the cupcakes were sold out. We loved their tasty treats so much that when we were planning our wedding last year, we decided to get Corina cupcakes in lieu of a wedding cake. We were THRILLED with everything about them. We got 4 dozen cupcakes for our wedding. We went with 4 flavors: red velvet with cream cheese frosting; chocolate with vanilla frosting; lemon with lemon frosting; and champagne with vanilla. We also got a couple of gluten-free cupcakes for one of our guests. Everything was done on time, and they were absolutely delicious and gorgeously decorated. We had more than enough for us and our 18 guests, so we took the rest home, froze them, and, well, we ended up eating all of them over the course of the next few months and didn't save any for our anniversary, which I suppose means we'll have to go back and order more. Shoot. Highly recommended for any special event or for a random drop-in for a sweet treat. The shop interior is gracefully aged and charming and eclectic, often with local art on the wall. The tables tend to have crumbs all over them, and the young folks behind the counter can seem a bit aloof at times, but perhaps that's just a generational divide...I have almost always been there close to closing time, and they're probably ready to leave work and go use Instagram or something, and I'm getting ready to go see an arthouse documentary, so apart from a cupcake transaction, there's not a lot to connect us at that point. So recently i was on the hunt for a place that can do custom cookies being that the person I thought I could go through fell through less than two weeks before my sons birthday. Being I've been to two birthdays this last year who had cakes made by this bakery ( and they are always beautiful and delicious) I figured I'd try to see if they could do custom cookies for me as well and this was with only a week and a half notice. I inquired about cookies for my sons upcoming birthday and spoke with Molly who was so helpful. Customer service here is really top notch from my initial call to the emailing back and forth I always got a response right away. Molly was able to give me a quote right away as well. Now when I showed them the designs I wanted they sent me what they could do and then actually suggested I contact another bakery who specialize in more intricate and detailed designs on cookies which I really appreciated, especially as someone who bakes for fun myself I rather turn friends down if it seems too much for me. But this act really showed that the customers happiness comes first and they rather share business than have me not be fully happy. Though the designs they could have done would have still worked. My hair dresser was like "YOU HAVE TO TRY CORINA's WHEN I AM DONE." So, obviously I had to listen to her. I am so glad I did, because I will for sure be a regular now. I came in for some coffee and cake. I tried the soy vanilla latte, and a slice of the espresso chocolate cake. Both were outstanding. I highly recommend coming in for coffee and some type of pastry. It can get a little crowded in the mornings I've been told, so expect a delay. It looked to me like a lot of locals come in on a daily basis. It had that "home" feel. BEST. CAKE. EVER. I don't even know where to begin with how much I loved the cake Molly helped to create for my wedding party - it looked and tasted amazing! The cake I received from Corina's bakery is the best wedding cake I have ever had. The flavors were deliciously memorable, the frosting was rich and creamy without being overwhelming, and the cake itself was perfectly soft, spongy, and moist. The design was exactly what I wanted - a semi naked cake with drizzling on the top (pictures attached). I highly recommend Corina's bakery and would most definitely order a cake from here again. During my consultation, Molly explained to me all of the flavor combinations, helped me figure out how much cake I needed for my guests, and let me sample the different flavors to decide which ones I liked best. I ended up choosing a 3 tier cake with each tier being a different cake/filling/frosting combo. Molly communicated with my mother-in-law and I throughout the weeks leading up to the wedding party to ensure everything turned out perfectly. The cake was stunning and perfect and I couldn't have been more happy with the creation and the overall experience of working with Molly at Corina's Bakery.  So many of our friends kept on repeatedly mentioning their love of that cake - how they had never tasted a cake like that and how it was so beautiful, it was hard to believe it was a real cake! Many of our guests wanted to try a slice of each tier just to taste all of the flavors - we hardly had any leftover!
