It was very crowded, it could've been the beautiful weather for the end of October. The fall foliage really added to the experience. Picked up a couple of things; apple cider, apple cider donuts, apple butter. Paid cash; but they have no way to give you a receipt or email one to you. They don't accept Apple Pay. It's a little confusing in the shop; there's one long line and only two cashiers. There's the usual hayrides and activities for children. They could use more parking. The crushed gravel is difficult to navigate for someone who has mobility issues.

When I walked in I could smell the cider donuts frying, so in addition to the bread I got an "apple cider donut bread pudding muffin" Yeah, think about that a minute. The corn I got last month was so good you could eat it raw, and this is a great place to pick up local apples as they come into season. If you visit at just the right time, you might even find some Concord grapes (they're like eating grape juice). The homegrown and local selections change with the seasons (oh the bok choy I got last week was so good too!), and they supplement those items with non-local fare so you can get more of what you need in one stop. There are lots of great farm markets in this area, but I think this one's the best.

The best pumpkins are picked in the patch, for $2 each. We got some heirloom tomatoes and some cider donuts to take home. The donuts need to be heated up for 20 seconds in the microwave, but they're very good. Why they didn't get 5-stars: The labels could use some work around the orchard. I always find it frustrating when orchards don't label the paths. They give you a map, but it's not very accurate.

They had two food trucks which had an assortment of flatbreads, hotdogs, and fries. Bad seed had a table serving up their own cider and some local cider. The pricing was affordable with a pint for $6. The docs Pumpkin cider was so good. The apple picking was further in and there was signage directing you to the area. They have 3 different sized bags ranging from $25-$42. We opted for the middle size $35 to fill 20-24lbs of apples. The $42 tote was for the same amount of apples but you paid extra money for the tote. If you brought the tote back to reuse you get $1 off next time. They offer these tools to pick the apples that are high up in the trees for $5. They gave us a map and was told there were tractor stops throughout. If our bags got too heavy we can leave it there and they will transport it back for us. Each bag had a ticket stub so we keep one and can pick it up after. This was the first time I saw something like this done for apple picking. We started all the way in the back and they had a ton of apples. The hike up was very steep though but the views were amazing. The shop sold Apple cider donuts which were freshly made. They also sold an assortment of apple cider with the different apple varieties. The honey crisp apple cider was my fav.

This distillery is also has grounds you can walk around and explore (not too big though). We took a peek at their aging/storage room with wooden casks while there, as well as their distillery. We were treated to a free, small sample of their whiskey at their bar. Its a nice stop when in upstate NY area.

Just another example of the fine things one can get themselves into through reading Lydia L's reviews! Because this was a fine market to visit on a fine October day. Although we've consumed lots (LOTS) of wine, we've never tried mead and with Lydia's review to back us up, we tried some and bought some too. (Which would be enjoyed later on in the day with cheese from Dancing Ewe and seckel pears from Migliorelli's, both of the Rhinebeck Market.) Don't pass up the chewy, delightful pretzel rolls! We bought several to give to our friends in NJ and they were a BIG hit. (Seasonal cranberry / apple and also sea salt. Also found at the New Paltz market.) There were fewer farmers at this market on this October Sunday but the produce vendors there had top quality items. And the friendly woman at the info booth at the end of the market was offering samples of home baked apple crisp as well as tastings of local applies. More to love about the Rosendale Market...ample parking. Yahoo! Were we HRV residents it would be a regular stop for us.
