    Welcome!

I've been becoming quite an apple orchard aficionado, so was very excited for this visit, especially considering solid reviews. A simple two hour drive from Brooklyn on a Saturday afternoon brought us to a bustling orchard & farm space. Free parking. Upon entering, you see a store stocked with locally made goodies. A wide variety of delicious produce is available for purchase. Hot and cold apple cider, dumplings, all sorts of pies, muffins, cakes, and baked goods, jellies, jams, maple syrup, caramel spreads, and even household goods such as home-made soap. Really great selection, so if you have money to spare, you can enjoy a very satisfying shopping spree. You can sample some of the goodies along with the cider, which we really enjoyed. I was surprised how delicious the sweet breads and caramels were--definitely recommend trying! Fresh apple cider doughnuts are sold in huge quantities due to nonstop demand. Pippin' hot doughnuts from the doughnut making machine are fried in front of you, dipped in sugar and sold for $.70 per doughnut, $7 for a dozen. Enjoyed the hot, fresh, fluffy dough. Very light, grainy consistency, mildly sweet, none of that saccharine, chemical sugary after-taste. A great treat for all ages, wouldn't feel bad about treating a child to a quality baked good. There's a fun pumpkin shed located on the premises. Decorated with ghouls just in time for Halloween. A great place to play with little kids, jumping on hey stacks and enjoying all sorts and calibers (decorative & edible) of pumpkins, available for purchase. Pumpkin picking is also an alternative to those who want something besides apples. Small Pumpkins for picking are $1.75 per pumpkin. Large pumpkins, 50 cents per pound, are also available, but only for store purchase, not for picking on your own. Hayrides are $2.00 per child and $3.00 per adult. For apple picking, you have two options: either purchase a small bag for $15 or a large bag for $24. The small bag is really tiny, even though its advertised to hold 10-15 lbs, there's no way it does so in reality. Suggest choosing the large bag, around 20-25lbs, so you can at least bring a decent amount of apples home. Around 13-15 apple varieties are available for picking. You should schedule your visit depending on the apple sort that you like, as some ripen early September and some wait until the very end of October. Usually, early to mid October is the busiest season, as most apples are ripe for picking and it's right in the middle of Fall holiday season, so families are planning their Fall entertainment. Group trips are also available (schools, community groups, etc.). Call in advance to schedule those (available only during weekdays). The orchard is a gorgeous place for photos and picnics. Even though there are eating and seating areas on the farm, before you enter the orchard, recommend taking your picnic basket with you and enjoying a scenic bite amid the lush vegetation of the orchard. We spent the entire day there, exploring and taking beautiful photos of the colorful Autumn landscape. The orchard closes at sunset. Allow yourself a full day for this experience, so you can enjoy every aspect without rushing. Overall, enjoyed my experience, do recommend this orchard and will be back!

I came here with my husband and 3 other friends and we had an AMAZING time. First off, the orchard is beautiful. It's hilly and set against a gorgeous mountain backdrop where you can see the fall foliage. There were many apples to pick - all super delicious and juicy. We also felt very safe because everyone picking were wearing masks, per the safety rule. The staff was very friendly and help as well. Do get the apple cider donuts - and eat them while they're fresh. They're SO good. We brought home a pack and they're still great, but definitely try them as soon as they're made. The vibe is really nice - there are cider and food trucks. Plenty of outdoor seats. People are drinking and having a good time. I would come back here again next year.

We made a reservation for this past Sunday for a group of 6 to Apple Pick. We got 1pm to 5pm (but you can stay longer in the food area.) We were coming from Poughkeepsie - so we had just walked over the bridge and found 2 Ubers to take us over to the Orchard. It was such a big orchard and the fall foliage was absolutely gorgeous. Great views! We got there and settled in a bit. Got drinks at the bar....and since you have to have food now bc of covid they give you apple cider donuts. I mean, I am not complaining about that rule! Apple cider donuts for the win! The pumpkin cider was my favorite out of all the ciders. Also, we ate before coming out here and we thought it was the best option (even though all the food looked great)... but just bc there were long lines for food. But anyways at your table, you can take off your mask which was nice. When you go apple picking you have to wear your mask, but it wasn't too bad. Our group had such a fun time and it was really the highlight of my whole Poughkeepsie trip!

This is a beautiful apple orchard with an old soul and new sections as well. More low key than some, but with a hard cider bar and pizza truck and a nice farm shop. Come early to avoid the crowds!

Came here for Apple Picking on a Sunday afternoon. Nice size Apple orchard area with ample parking. Due to Covid, face mask is required for all visitors including children. It is what it is. Do expect some walking. $20 gets you an apple bag and 2 people entrance to the apple picking area. They do offer a different pricing for larger families. Overall, the experience is pretty organized. Friendly and helpful staff. There is a Bad Seed Cider Bar on site which is great if you enjoy hard cider. Snacks include fresh Apple cider doughnuts & a pizza truck. Cute farm store on site as well. Highly recommended.

This is probably my favorite place to go apple picking. We have been to a couple of places that had sausage and pepper carts, very few apples for picking, D&D cups all over the ground, and people running it that would have had a fast pass line in order to charge you more money. This place is quite the opposite! This farm is run with true upstate charm and even the guy they have helping people cross the street is a real decent human being. If you are looking for real deal apple picking, fresh made apple cider donuts, hot cider, and family fun this is your place. They have added a couple of food truck type things, but get it straight ... they are also good upstate people that are giving it a whirl and they're simple. We had some pumpkin soup that these wonderful local women made and it was delicious. There is plenty for the kids including a play area, hay maze, and live music at times. Also my advise is if you have kids or go late in the season, rent the apple teaching device for $2. Well worth the money. You can't beat this place. Here is our total bill for the outing : Bag - $24 Reusable bag -$7 (minus .50 ) Apple grabber rental - $2 Parking - $0 Cider donuts - $3 for 5 Cider - $3 Total - $38.50

This place is fun! There are 12 types of apples. Most of them were ready for picking, but some were already gone/not ready. $25 for a bag is pricey in my opinion because the bag holds about 25 pounds if not less, so you aren't really getting the best deal for the money you pay. Apples are fresh and juicy, sour and juicy, thick skin or light skin, whatever your taste is, you can find it here and eat as much as you like or fill up your bag with it. About eating, for those who are picky about food, I would recommend bringing a water bottle so you can wash the chemicals from the peel. You can see white parts on the apples and they come off as you wipe/wash it off. For me, I didn't wash them and as you can see I survived and in-fact the chemicals didn't really do anything to me (so far). Apple cider wasn't anything special, had better apple cider and had worse. So theirs is average. Apple cider doughnut was fresh and made in front of you, smelled really good (that's why I got it) and tasted yummy too. And only 60 cents per doughnut. Or you can get a dozen of doughnuts for $7. Basically Wilklow Orchards has everything in there -- different varieties of pies, maple syrup, honey, different types of beers, pumpkins and so on. Nice location, and family friendly.

Great spot in the fall for kids and adults. Very busy on the weekend - but calm and uncrowded during the week. Lots of activities, nice farm market selling local items, baked goods, apple cider and they sell all varieties of their own apples, but you can pick your own too. They also make fresh apple cider donuts on the weekend! A must visit every fall for us.

We have gone to a bunch of different places for apple picking over the last few years. The trend for most of the place within an hour/hour and a half from NYC has been to charge an admission fee and charge mandatory bag (per person) costing about $20 when in the picking area. These rules make apple picking for a family of 4 about $80+. I saw that Wiklow was just over an hour and a half away from the Bronx and had some great reviews. We decided to go up there on a Saturday early afternoon. First thing that is great is that they are opened everyday (September/October) until 6pm! Most other places stop picking 4/4:30ish. We arrived at the location using GPS, which was accurate. There is parking lot across the street near the (school?!). Once you park there, you can cross the street to the orchards. It was nice to see that there was a crossing guard/person there to help stop cars as they drove by. Once you enter the orchards there is the shop with pies and other bakes goods for sale, there is the also the Bad Seed Hard Cider bar which was cool. There is a small play area in the middle and some hay seating. The port-a-potties were very clean (especially for 2pm on a Saturday) and there was a full single sink outside of them with a roll of paper towels. There is a tractor (we did not take it so I'm not sure if there was a fee) but it took you deep into the orchards with a few stops along the way. The orchards though hilly, are very walkable on a fall day. (Wear comfortable shoes) You can buy a small bag or large bag ($15 and $24). My small family (3 of us) purchased one small bag, as we usually go apple picking for fun and make a few pies. This was nice as previously mentioned, other places would force you to buy a bag per person?! We also rented an apple picker which was very useful, especially for those higher apples. Rental was $5, but you get $3 back upon returning it. We were given maps of the orchards with the ripe/ready apple varieties/sections highlighted. There were lots of apple available. We spent about maybe an hour picking and filled up our small bag. On the way bad we noticed a large tent with kids activities, though I am not sure if there was a private party there, or if it was for everyone. We didn't sample any pies as we were going home to make our own but the apple cider donuts were great, though not notably better than any previous ones I have had. Also, kudos to the store for selling bottled water for $1, most places usually markup those bottles they purchase for 0.25 each and charge the customer $3. All the staff we encountered were very nice, patient and helpful during our visit. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for apple picking within an hour away from its location.

Stopped by on our way back from a trip to the Catskills and boy are we glad we did! From the sweeping views to the delicious apple donuts to the yummy Bad Seed hard cider this is spot has something for everyone. Our biggest fear was going to an overly commercial orchard and it's hard to avoid that so close to the city. But Wilklow Orchard really seems to strike the right balance. There were plenty of activities for kids but it still really had the feel of a working Orchard. We were super excited to find out that our favorite hard cider-Bad Seed- has a stand here as well! Overall highly recommend and we'll definitely be back.

This Columbus Day, I was hell bent on spending my day off out of the house, so my boyfriend and I ended up at Wilklow for a few hours. I'm not an apple orchard expert or anything, but this place was really wonderful! We paid about $20 for the large apple picking bag (which they explained holds about 20 to 25 pounds of apples). We also received a map of the orchard and two bright orange "I picked apples at Wilklow" stickers that we forgot to take off our shirts all day, including the entire duration of a lengthy visit to the grocery store. One of the things I really liked is the layout of the orchard. They had a bunch of different varieties of apples and they had it laid out with "streets" in between the rows of trees with cute names like "Pumpkin Ave." and such. The apples themselves were great (I believe we mostly picked Red Delicious, Cortlandt and Jonagolds), but it was the cider donuts that really stole the show for me. They fry them right on site so they were hot and sugar covered and amazing. We bought two at 60 cents apiece, followed by just going for a dozen (which was the best $7 I've spent this month). I'm honestly astonished that we have any left at our apartment. The only thing that could be considered a negative about this orchard is that covering it all is somewhat physically demanding. The trails that lead you through the different sections are all uphill (a rather steep uphill), so it might not be for everyone. I think I'm a generally fit person and I was out of breath by the time we reached the top. Luckily, we were greeted with a few benches, where we ended up hanging out, snacking apples and enjoying the view.

Long drive from nyc, but good donuts. You can put a deposit on poles that help you to get apples. They were open when other places were closed already. They have a great store, and you can watch them make donuts, which my sons really enjoyed. They have a hot dog cart, and displays and goofy things you can stick your head in for photos, and some fun things the kids can go in, with slides, and balls flying around. I really liked this place. The apple picking is scenic and lovely. I've only been to a place on Long Island and I'd say this place was better, even if it was a shorter drive. Since it was the end of the season, the bags were $10 instead of $20, and there were not a whole lot of apples beyond the Golden Delicious and the Rome apples, but we filled a bag and had a good time. My cousin took me here, he's gone her many times when he went to Vassar, and I think it's a good place, liked it a lot.
