I haven't gone apple picking in a long time so my boyfriend decided it would be a great activity for us for the weekend! We arrived around 2pm and they close at 4pm so it left us plenty of time to do our picking. However, first things first. We got our apple cider donuts and hot cider to start off the day! There were an abundance of apple trees with so many more variety than I could name but there were also two sad pears that were empty. I guess it's because it's not in season? We bought a huge bag (around $30) and managed to get around 50 apples! Totally worth it. Staff are also super friendly from the food cart down to the guys who managed the apple farms. Def. recommend getting the donut if you're there and trying each of the different types of apples. And if you go around October, there are also a lot of pumpkins for your IG friendly shoot. :)

I love the donut without the cinnamon sugar, i had no idea we can order them plain. They were awesome

This was my first time attending an orchard where I got to pick fruit. I came here during July 4th weekend (lots of people) and it was cherry season too. I don't think my family is a big fan of cherries but we went for the experience. Except for the scorching heat, I otherwise had a good time here. When you arrive at the orchard, you park your car for $5 and then hop on an open truck (really fun ride)for a short ride and you will shortly be by the Orchard with the cherries. After you hop off the truck, you grab a bucket and familiarize yourself with the rules (if you want to). There's lots of cherries for everyone!! They also had peaches too but they weren't ripe yet. Anyways, I did enjoy the experience . I'd like to come back during the fall or next summer for other fruits.

If you need to have quality time with your family and go to a beautiful and breathtaking orchard, this is the place for you. The admission price and bushel bag is cheap, not crowded, and plenty of room for everyone. My son loved roaming and running around the farm. The tractor ride was a hit too! Staff is super friendly and very accommodating. Highly recommended!

Just spent a great few hours here apple picking! The apples are huge and delicious! We got here at 12:30 and left at 3. It didn't feel crowded at all and there were tons of apples on the trees. There are many varieties! They also advertise that they have Asian pears and Bosc Lear's but they were still small and unripe. They give you buckets to hold your fruit which is better than the flimsy plastic bag most places force you to use. There is also a hay ride, corn maze and small picnic area. The staff there are all pretty friendly too.

First time cherry picking last weekend of June. Lots of cherry trees and space. They charged $5 for parking. They have a stand where you can get yummy cider doughnuts, drinks, honey and jams. Think they were selling fresh lemonade too. There is a food stand as well if you want to get there early and not worry about where to get lunch after. They had hot dogs, burgers etc. There are a few picnic tables around but no shade keep in mind if you go on a hot sunny day. My boys 5 and 3.5 yrs old loved climbing the trees and eating the cherries right there. There is nothing else to do though but plenty of space to run around. They do have a tractor ride which takes you up and down the hill which the boys enjoyed. The staff there are all very nice. They only have porta potty so be prepared not to expect full bathroom facilities. Overall the cherries were delicious and a fun day trip for the family.

Come here if you just want to pick fruit, pay and leave. It's not an amusement park for kiddies, like some of the other pick-your-own places, but I like the no frills. I've been here twice to pick apples. I like that the trees are short so you don't need to climb a ladder or use that basket-on-a-stick tool to get the apples. There's a lot of variety, including my all-time favorite Jonagold. And lots of trees of each variety! Went there yesterday to pick peaches. OMG, they're amazing - sweet, juicy, with the thinnest skin ever. Some were literally bursting with juice. I signed up for their newsletter alerts. I'll be back in the fall when the apples are ready.

    Apple cider donut.

This is the best apple orchard period!!! They have a large variety of apples to choose from. They also have Asian and Bosc pears. The apple trees are dwarf which means you do not need ladders which is perfect for the kids. I also love that they are a low spray orchard. We always pack some sandwiches so we can enjoy lunch on the picnic tables. We also love the apple cider donuts!! Another I just realize is that the orchard must have really good drainage because even after a week of rain, no mud in site.

Gold rush & pink lady were my favorite. Atmosphere: Loved for fall! We first tried their cider on tap at King's Court Brewery in Poughkeepsie. Easy to find - a big yellow barn with ample parking. We stopped in on a December Saturday looking to have some drinks and check out the new space. We arrived just after they opened and were so impressed by the new, but rustic feel. There's a massive horseshoe bar, gender neutral bathrooms, bar games, firepits, many taps, and my favorite, RIVER VIEWS! The staff was welcoming and knowledgeable and recommended a few tasty styles of beer. Locust Grove makes their own cider and features beer from King's Court Brewery a few miles away. I recommend the Bat Exodus Nitro Stout. Had two and, as a Guinness fan, I thought this was far more flavorful. If stouts aren't your preference, they have many varieties of ales, IPAs, porters, and ciders. The cider isn't too sweet. I sampled a few and found them fruity, funky, and crushable without much sugar. Can't wait to visit again and pick up some swag. Locust Grove has shirts, beanies, and other branded items for purchase. If you're looking for outdoor space, know that they have 3 or 4 Solostove Stainless Firepits. These things are the best - high heat and no smoke. They "fired" it right up for us and before we knew it, three hours passed watching the river as the sun set behind us. It was wonderful to meet some of the new people who are considering joining the farm as a CSA member. It's an investment to be sure. You do need to pay for your shares upfront so that the farmers know how much to plant and can budget accordingly. That being said, they do accept credit card payments and even EBT/SNAP through their website ordering system. It's fun to pick up my share because one never knows what's been picked - it's a surprise every week. There's just one more pick up before we go dormant until late spring/June.
