Have yet to have a bad class here. The staff here is great, studio is clean (including locker rooms), and the classes and instructors are great and all very different vibes. That's a good thing! The only class I haven't taken here is CSX and CoreRestore. And they have free parking in the garage connected to the building! read more

I recently attended one of the free community flow classes and had an overall positive experience. The studio was very clean though there was not as much personal storage available as I've seen at other CorePower locations. I'd highly recommend trying out one of the C1 classes to anyone looking to switch up their workout regiment. read more

Great classes, instructors, staff, vibe...the popular classes are way too crowded though. The off peak classes can be really empty (like 5-6 people).::I wonder if there is a way to reallocate people (e.g., tiered pricing) read more

I tried a free trial week here. I took two classes, one was core restore which was a relaxing class. The studio was not full and I enjoyed this one! However, the next day I tried a yoga sculpt class which was definitely overbooked. My friend and I came maybe 1 minute late and there was literally no room left in the studio for us. The instructor was mad we were late and didn't help us find a spot. She was clearly annoyed with us and wasn't afraid to show it. Unfortunately people being late is part of the business, if you can't put on a good customer service face, then don't work in a service based industry. Luckily we weren't paying customers, just doing the free trial. If you're going to overbook classes, there should be someone in the studio instructing everyone where to put their mats so there is optimal spacing and room for everyone. We were nearly touching the people next to us. We won't be buying a membership or any more classes - there are more professional studios out there. read more

I've taken a few CorePower classes to supplement my strength training program, and I was excited to try the new CSX class as I've been looking for a new HIIT studio. I HATED this class. 1) The class either needs to be significantly shorter or the instructor needs to give more breaks in between circuits. 45 minutes is too long to be going continuously. In my experience, HIIT workouts are either 20 minutes with constant work or 45 minutes with 1-2 minute breaks every 15 minutes or so. 2) The intervals were nonexistent. It was one minute on one exercise and then immediately into the next. Should be 45 seconds on, 15 off. 3) I know CP's thing is hot yoga, but they need to cool the room WAY down for this level of exertion. I've had no issues with the heat in sculpt classes, but this was too much. This was the studio's first CSX class so I'm hoping they fix some of these issues. read more

We love Madeline's Thursday Yoga Sculpt class. Great routine and soundtrack! Can't wait for the next class!

After all this time, we can finally enjoy some hot yoga. This is my favorite location. They are so clean, super friendly, and will work you out. There is street parking right in front too so you can park and walk right in. Your first three classes are exploratory and they currently have memberships available. I took the advanced hot yoga class bc I've been practicing for 8 years and let me tell you, that class was insane in the best way. It was such a great workout that I had to take a nap afterwards ! read more

Instructor: Wildly nice and consistently encouraging. 5 stars. Location: NOT NEAR CLARENDON. False Advertising. Move to Clarendon, or call it Courthouse. 1 star read more

I just wish that CorePower would finally invest in hiring someone to work the front desk so that when a member who is signed up for class arrives 30 seconds past 12:00pm, they can still practice. I enjoyed practicing at this studio for years when I lived locally, but this aspect is very frustrating read more

You know, I'm not a yoga lover but I love most boutique fitness classes so I decided to try the first week free. It's really refreshing they have this promotion because I hate having to pay to commit to something I could easily hate. However, after the initial sign up this is where things got confusing for my boutique brain- there is no sign up for the classes. You literally just show up and first come first serve which is nice but that concept like blows my mind since so many other studios require so much advance. I didn't really get the concept and when I called to ask a question they don't have a live person answering. I also stopped by a day before I wanted to ask a question and at certain times they have no one at the front and you need a key code to come in? A little hard to really ask questions or inquire about memberships without a live person to easily reach. When I got there, the front desk gal/teacher welcomed me and explained the studio. Towels cost $2 to rent so I guess most people bring your own but on your first class they lend you a towel free. I recommend bringing your own because 1) you will need one and 2) their towel quality isn't great. You can also rent a mat but I brought my own. The earlier you get here the more likely you are to get a spot. I walked in for a C2 level class and was immediately hit with a wall of heat. People were already laying in there 10 minutes early and I can't believe people were subjecting themselves to this heat for any extra time. This class was SO FREAKING HOT I was just trying to stay alive. I was so sweaty by the end of the 60 minutes my hands were pruned and I had sweated off my make up. While the workout moved fast I was counting down the minute til the heat stopped. Supposedly it was extra hot in the one particular class I tried which of course, is my luck. The teacher was nice and didn't make many corrections but probably due to the fact the flow was so fast compared to regular Yoga. If it wasn't for all the calories sweat off, I would probably not come back because it's just so hot. If you are a yogi or love hot yoga, I'd say definitely a 4/5 studio for you to try. read more

Although a "chain" by entity, I still love CorePower Yoga (CPY) as it provides a consistently good experience no matter the studio location, Clarendon/Courthouse/Rosslyn location is no exception. The studio is the first I've encountered with an upstairs/downstairs (Studio 1 downstairs and Studio 2 upstairs). I truly respect that most managers I've met at CPY are female, I also notice on their webpage that most executives are female as well. Yesterday was their first "friends and family" class and it was a full house in Studio 1 (75 Person Capacity Reached) and I anticipate continued success. I noticed this location is referred to as CPY Clarendon, but this is likely due to the street versus the neighborhood of Arlington as it is situated nearer to Courthouse/Rosslyn neighborhoods. I loved how CPY ensured many local businesses were involved in the "friends and family" event as there is nothing more important for a yoga studio than the connection to the community. The reason that CPY remains popular and loved nationwide (despite being a chain) is the connection it builds to the community. It truly feels good to "shop local" with CPY being an introduction to the locally owned businesses who may not have access to such a large and diverse client pool. If there were a drawback, this location does not have dedicated parking, but this may not be bad as there are plenty of meters available depending on the time of day. Parking is also free at the metered locations before 0800 and after 1800 (Park Mobile enabled). The area has a sustainable audience of foot traffic due to the surrounding high rise dwellings (condominiums and apartments). I look forward to adding this location to my workout regimen. read more

I went here when I first moved here about three years ago. I liked the Merryfield location much better. Even the gals church location. The problem with this location is heat and lack of instruction. I'm a certified yoga instructor and I hate when teachers do not give good cues or substitutes. I had knee surgery and so I do reclined pigeon instead of normal pigeon. It helps. I'm sure I'm not the only one. I decided to sign up and then after a few classes decided to cancel. I stopped coming here before covid. I was so disgusted with how crowded the 40 plus people and the two men in the room so sweaty. The guy next to me dripped all over my mat. The guy in front of me his mat probably never cleaned sloshed salty white sweat everywhere. I left class early that day. Never came back. I thought I was going to throw up. This time I planted myself by the door just in case. Less people 12 to 20 after covid. That is good. My main concern for not coming back is the heat and poses. Teachers are not assisting and I understand why covid, but then you are teaching inversions and even camel and don't care remotely if someone is doing it wrong or going to hurt them or fall. Teachers never say move close to the wall. They stay on the same schedule. Nice teacher Amanda and Ann. The manager Melissa rude. I came in first time never greeted. Not even after class. I overheard her tell someone ya I guess it will be me teaching. Who else no one else not enough teachers. Wow! I remember when Ava was the manager and another young lady so attentive when members came in. Oh well! It's ashame there is not a good yoga studio in courthouse area. You must drive to get to a good studio. The studio is clean. Bathrooms and lockers provided. Lots of merchandise. I just wouldn't recommend Core Power unless you like a hot yoga class, want to wear someone else's sweat, or just want to hurt yourself because you are doing a pose wrong. read more

I enjoyed this Yoga studio! I have passed by the Clarendon studio several times and am glad I finally signed up for a class. The studio is huge and well maintained and they have a great variety of classes including hot yoga. The yoga classes are definitely meant to get you sweating and to get a work out in. Great instructor and very welcoming. I did feel that my class (Saturday PM) was pretty crowded, with mats verrry close together. But overall great class. read more

This is the first ever CorePower that I went to and it totally changed my life. The free week is amazing and the first time you go you just know how different this is. I've been to tons of different yoga studios and CorePower is just different. There is an amazing community here in Arlington and this location is really close to a lot of cool stuff in the area. The 6 o'clock classes are always packed so if you can avoid then that would be helpful. The black tag membership is very expensive but if you are planning to go a lot it's totally worth it. I got certified at the Newton location in Massachusetts and I was really happy with the whole process. If you're interested in getting a GREAT workout without it being too spiritual, look no further. You'll get in great shape and have a really good time doing it! read more

Please please LIMIT CLASS SIZES! Especially for sweaty Sculpt classes with a lot of movement and quick transitions, it is both disgusting and unrelaxing to be mat to mat in an overpacked room. For a $30+ class, it feels like such an overt money grab to pack the studio rooms so tightly and expect folks to do yoga, of all things, while dripping sweat on those around them. I love this studio, but it's not at all a luxurious experience as it currently is. If you at all respect and appreciate your customers, you'll decrease class capacity. read more

The studio is the largest and cleanest out of all other CPY locations in the DMV! The instructors and set team are always a pleasure to be around. The classes tend to fill up quickly, mainly because they are so amazing. Highly recommend this studio! You also get a FREE week to try out Corepower, to see if you like it. PARKING UPDATE! A lot of these reviews complain about no parking, BUT there is a free retail garage in this building. It is right before the stop light on Clarendon blvd and N Rhodes st. Right before you get to the light, take a left into the alley, there is free retail parking in the building. You're welcome :) Photo here: https://www.screencast.com/t/TXvJ74psd read more

I never tried yoga before but after free trial week I love it so much and recommend yoga to my friends. This studio in Clarendon is very cozy - feel like i am at home there. 2 hours of free parking, free tea and water of course, and by the way they have a special program Studio Experience Team - you can join their team and work there for a several hours per week - and unlimited yoga will cost you only 40$ per month. Standard price is 155$. Be healthy! read more

Heated rooms, electronic-locked lockers, easy check in process, clean facility (showers and changing area isn't large but is tidy). Overall upkeep of the facility is clean and great and like that there is a seating area plus tea (so zen-like)! They also sell stuff there. Just remember not to be late for your class because they do lock the doors as soon as the class starts! Great class for healing your mind, body, and soul. Or a great way to relieve your stress. read more

*FAVORITE INSTRUCTOR BY FAR: Monica She has the BEST music, amazing energy, and puts together a dynamic and challenging class. I wish she taught more at this location! I also really like Chris. So happy CorePower opened an Arlington location. I like this studio much better than the Georgetown location. It is cleaner and more intimate. Sculpt is one of my favorite fitness classes I've ever taken! It is definitely more boot camp than yoga... fyi. If you are familiar with chataranga (sp check?), you really don't need to take C1 or C2 before Sculpt. The class is very challenging and sweaty. Think bicep curls, burpies, lunges, squats, with some power yoga moves thrown in.There is one song where we kind of did Zumba-ish moves to spike the heart rate. Giving four stars instead of five because of the inconsistency in instructors. There are a few Sculpt teachers that are just really terrible and play the SAME playlists every week ... :/ Also, this studio is much more in Rosslyn than Clarendon proper. read more

I absolutely love CPY Clarendon . It's the nicest location I have been to. The locker room has key code lockers, plenty of space, clean showers . It feels well taken care of. The instructors Are for the most part fantastic. I am a big fan of yoga sculpt, some of my favorite regular instructors are Mary, Bridgette, Monica, Ramona. Honestly all of the instructors are great though, love the music and the class. The room is spacious And clean. Natalie and Chynna are the managers and they are lovely! The only thing I would change is that I feel that the sculpt instructors don't correct us enough. They do mention it in their opening shpiel but thy never follow through! I know my form is off sometimes and in a heated class w weights and yoga- it's pretty easy to get injured. This is a minor gripe. I thought I'd do my free week and I've been a black tag (unlimited) member since August ! Highly recommend. read more

I was in an accident several months ago and hadn't worked out in a while. I signed up for Class Pass to try out some local gyms, and CorePower was the first class I went to. The studio was super cute and well designed, and it is very clean. The room was a little hot, even though this was not a "hot yoga" class. I tried the C1 class. I told the instructor (Ashley) about my injuries before class, and she was such a sweetheart about it--she helped me find ways to participate without making full use of my left arm that is still healing. I'll definitely be back! read more

I'd been going to the Georgetown location- but so excited that CorePower Yoga opened in Arlington. Keep in mind that this is near the Courthouse and Rosslyn neighborhoods, on Clarendon boulevard (not actually in the Clarendon neighborhood really), but fortunately that works better for me. The studio is clean and bright, the lockers in the locker rooms all have locks, and they have water, towels, and yoga year available for purchase. I think the class schedule will expand as their popularity builds in this new location- they only opened up a few weeks ago. I like the CP1 and 2 classes best for a real yoga experience, and the Sculpt classes are more of a yoga + bootcamp fusion. It's tuesday and my hamstrings are still singing from Sunday mornings sculpt class! Sarah Jayne is one of my favorite instructors. My small complaint is that the studios only have mirrors on one wall- and that wall has doors and panels in it, so for some classes its tough to get a spot where you can see your form. read more

The associates and instructors are very friendly. I also love the studio because it's clean and spacious. A few other pros: +There's cute merchandise for sale +There are a number of lockers for you to store your belongings +The showers/bathroom in the locker room are always clean +There's a few toiletries available in case you need them +They have a student discounts read more

If I was into hot yoga (which I learned after coming here that I'm not), I would give this place 5 stars. The studio it self is very modern, with lockers, showers, and toiletries. I had only ever done yoga in room temperature environment, and I was very disappointed to find out that they only offer hot yoga at this studio. Even their beginner's yoga is done in a room about 85-90 degrees. The Hot Power Fusion yoga session was by far the hottest at about 105 degrees, and their Yoga Sculpt class is very fast paced and intense with the yoga instructor coaching you throughout class. If they had any non-hot yoga classes I definitely would have signed up for a membership after my one week trial. Bottom Line: If you are a die-hard hot yogi, this is the studio for you! read more

I love that this location has HPF every day at 7:15 am. I was able to take the class on Mondays and Fridays during a one-month period when I had an unlimited GILT City voucher. Although both classes followed the same sequence, they felt like completely different offerings. The Monday teacher kept the blinds in the second floor studio open which offered a fresh perspective, and the Friday teacher shaded the room and cranked up the heat HOT. Both classes were excellent for different reasons. This studio has a great retail section, cubbies inside the front door, and plenty of lockers in the locker room, plus showers if you have to clean up after. Although not generally advertised, there is FREE retail parking underneath the building and you don't have to pay for street parking. read more

I've been a black tag member for almost a year and love CorePower even more! Sadly Jackie and Chris have both moved to other CorePower locations, but Lauren Mcl and Cesar are amazing sculpt instructors. To be honest, all the Sculpt teachers are awesome so you can't go wrong. Bridgette and Emma-Kate on the weekends are incredibly tough and motivating. CPY is the jam! read more

Have had a couple of great classes here. The sculpt class is one of my favorites. I did a community class recently which was free and the instructor was amazing. Very spiritual! love that location. read more

I'm perplexed by the lowish overall rating here at Core Power. Firstly it's nice that they offer a free one week trial and they give you a little key card upon arriving even without being a paying member or purchaser of classes. The staff greeted me and was very friendly. The space is nice. Parking on the street was easy. People are complaining about it not being Clarendon but if it was, you wouldn't get parking easily so please, get over it. The remainder of my review is solely based on the yoga sculpt class. I practice Barre, Tabata and HIT workouts at a couple of gyms I belong to, Orange Theory and Flywheel. I found the sculpt class to be challenging but great. My friend told me this was one of the easier sculpt classes as there was a substitute teacher and apparently the best ones are in Georgetown but for me, this was a great sweat and pretty challenging strength-wise. I will purchase a class package from here for sure but not an unlimited monthly because I need variety so it can't be my primary sole workout. I personally hate yoga but could still get down with sculpt because it wasn't too annoyingly yoga. The sculpt class is great for someone looking for a great strength class and a sweat. Heartrate wise not too taxing so good for an off cardio day. read more

So happy that a studio opened up near my work! This studio opening finally made it worth buying the monthly membership. I've been practicing on and off for about 5 years. This location is good--it doesn't get quite as packed as the Georgetown studio...yet! Because of the location, I'd like to see a 6:30 or 7am class added. There are a ton of office buildings nearby (mine included) and this class would be more convenient for those starting an 8:30am work day. Otherwise--the location is good. The instructors are comparable in experience and skill to other locations. Katie Shin's sculpt class is the best here! Check it out! If you're curious but not interested in committing to the monthly price, check out Groupon! They run a deal every now and then. read more

I love this studio. It's a few blocks from where I work and I've been going to classes (mainly Sculpt) twice a week for the past few weeks. Pros: 1. Friendly staff 2. Beautiful and clean studio 3. Sculpt class is AMAZING, I am addicted (and this is coming from someone who never enjoyed or felt like they got something out of yoga) Cons: 1. Changing/locker area is super small and always gets overly cramped - very inconvenient 2. Unlike most yoga and/or boutique studio classes I've been to in the area, they do not provide cold, essential oil-infused hand towels after class Regarding point 2, please, for the love of God, provide us with cold hand towels after class. The essential oil touch would be nice! Sculpters need it after the 60 minutes of non-stop sweating and gulping humid, heavy air. I've had at least four different instructors and Brittney's class is the best so far. She draws a great crowd, her class is always full of energy, and her playlist is awesome. I always feel like I get the best workout from her class. read more

I practice regularly at the Pentagon City location. Thought I'd switch it up and try Clarendon. The Teacher's style was so fast, and the room so hot, that I was sliding everywhere on my mat. The transitions also weren't very intuitive, many of them reversed from what you'd normally expect for Vinyasa--it felt very awkward and rushed. I had to take a few seconds to put my hair in a ponytail again because we were flailing around so much it fell out and was hanging in my face. The teacher looked at me and said, "come on, keep on moving." It was extremely rude and dismissive. This studio is primarily occupied by low-mid twenties Caucasian girls who are extremely thin and fit. Just because I don't look like them doesn't mean I'm lazy, slacking, or deserving of disrespect. It is also exactly the opposite of what I seek in a yoga practice. Do not tell people to "honor their bodies" while also publicly shaming them in class for taking a break or modification. Respect your clients, stop the body shaming, and be conscious of the impact of your words. Take some cues from the Pentagon City location on teaching inclusive classes. read more

Clarendon is always the cleanest, CorePower location in DC. The instructors continue to challenge me and front desk staff is always pleasant. Tried my first CorePower class at this location with colleagues, enjoyed the workout and immediately signed up for a Free Week. During that week I fell in love with the Sculpt class. The intensity, music and constant change of the routine was exactly the break from running I need weekly. My purchase of 10 workouts has allowed me to visit multiple DC locations of CorePower, all good experiences. Claredon is the standout location of this awesome chain! read more

$28 for a drop in and mat rental, a very boring C1 class and mirrors that were so dirty you could see streaks everywhere. Might want to invest in some windex. The locker room and studio where yoga is smell of body odor. There is water and paper towels all over in the locker room. Try the yoga at Gold's gym down the street (Diana) it's challenging and 1/3 of the price. Pros: nice yoga instructor and lockers that are locked by a code. That's it. read more

love love loved this place. I had never done yoga, and had always wanted to but was too scared I would look stupid. So, I was a bit intimidated walking into the class. The atmosphere was not intimidating at all, I never felt uncertain and the instructor was very welcoming and comforting. She also made great form corrections which I certainly needed to avoid hurting myself since it was my first time. The studio itself was spotless. I will definitely return. read more

Love love love love love CorePower !! It has changed my life and health and gotten me through some really challenging times. The Clarendon studio is now my favorite studio! Each teacher has their own style and all give you a new / different / unique way to experience your practice! read more

Not sure why everyone loves this place. It only caters to one type of "yoga"- hot and fast. For anyone who is a real yoga person this isnt true yoga. Even their non heated yoga class is very hot because they use the same room- duh. Really wish they would offer both regular yoga with no heat and hot yoga in different rooms. That way the two practices stay separate. I'll be moving on. read more

I went for an entire week on a free pass. I was impressed with this gym, very elegant studio, but the pricing was rather steep, my regular gym offers yoga classes for free, and I only pay $50 per month, so its hard for me to justify an additional $300 a month for yoga to my husband. I came one day at night, and I was rather rushed out rudely while I tried to shower and wash my hair. Not cool CorePower. read more

I purchased a monthly unlimited membership here as one of the studio's founding members and I've already cancelled. Even though I'm paid through the end of the month I'm going to practice somewhere else. I practiced here about 6 times with a variety of teachers and it just didn't click for me. I tried calling CPY directly to see if they were interested in waiving some or all of my fees but they said that wasn't possible because I had practiced. So, I thought it was important to share the following review for anyone considering getting a membership here. You may want to go to a class to try it out before buying a membership and see if it's for you. The 1 star is for the beautiful studio and instructor Ahmed who was amazing. They did a really nice job designing the space. Street parking is easy, and I love the retail selection! That could be dangerous for a shopper! Okay, moving on... There are two studio rooms but I only practiced in the upstairs room. The upstairs room is a small square with 2 walls of floor to ceiling windows and one wall of floor to ceiling mirrors. I found this really challenging when trying to focus. It's crowded in a gross kind of way when class is full. The teachers play really loud pop music throughout class and talk over the music to queue you. It's reminiscent of an aerobics class in a busy gym which is exactly what I'm not interested in. I could probably handle all of that if I felt the classes themselves were good but I didn't. I've only been practicing for about 7 months so I'm in no way looking for what I would call an advanced class but I feel what's offered here is very beginner. It's possible that the teachers are very new and that's why the classes feel beginner. I noticed teachers had written out their sequence and were reading from a book or sheet of paper throughout class, often losing their place and missing queues all together. The sequences are repetitive too. The same class will be taught more than once and that class could just be one flow on repeat. Teachers don't place a lot of emphasis on the proper form and this could be really dangerous for a true beginner so be careful. The classes are all only 60 minutes. I'm used to 75 minutes. I don't feel like 60 minutes allows for enough time to really warm up the body for certain poses, there's no time for inversions and savasana seems so rushed they shouldn't even include it. Overall, I'm bummed I didn't have a connection here because the studio is beautiful and the people that work there do seem very nice. I shared my feedback with CPY and did receive a phone call from the studio manager. I appreciate the followup. She recommended I try Hot Power Fusion CPY classes for a better fit, unfortuantely, they are only offered at 8:30pm. I don't want to practice that late perosnally. read more

This is the studio I keep going back to. I specifically appreciate that they have two studios and offer yoga sculpt and traditional yoga classes. The times are great, and I can do yoga sculpt when I want an intense workout and yoga when I want something less intense. All of the instructors are great. They are informative without talking your ear off. It can get really hot, and the first couple of times you do yoga sculpt you're probably going to think you can never go back in there, because it's hard. But it is worth it. I did yoga sculpt 2-3 days a week in the two months leading up to my wedding and honestly, I've never been in better shape. read more
