The classes remain consistently intense and a fantastic workout. There's a wide range of classes offered every day, and I really appreciate the variety of instructors--you get to find your favorites over time, which makes the experience even better. The studio has a friendly vibe, and most of the spaces are clean. That said, there are usually some stray hairs on the studio floor and a persistent fly that seems to live in Studio 1 (it's become a bit of a running joke in my head). The bathrooms and locker areas, on the other hand, are always very clean and well-maintained. I also love that they provide two hours of validated parking for the nearby garage--super convenient. If I had to point out a couple of areas for improvement: I wish they cleaned the studio floors a bit more thoroughly between classes. I've started wearing socks anytime I'm not on my mat to avoid stepping on anything. I'd also love to see more studio-wide challenges. In the four months I've been attending, there's only been one (the Summer Glow Challenge in August), which was super motivating--it would be great to have more of these throughout the year. Overall, I love this studio, have an all-access membership, and plan to keep coming here for the foreseeable future!

The studio is always so clean and everyone is so welcoming and friendly! The studio owner Desirae is AMAZINGLY knowledgeable and wonderfully kind! Take her class!!!!! The classes are ALWAYS challenging, and FUN! I've learned so much about my body and been able to do things I've never done before! I'm MUCH stronger and more confident. Anybody who has ever had a consistent yoga practice at the same studio week after week knows that sometimes... Ya just don't feel like goin... Maybe the class is hard but it isn't exciting... Maybe there's that one teacher... This is NOT AT ALL the experience at Breath & Body! Every teacher is dynamic! Every class is exciting! Diana will have you in handstand before you know it! Katie makes you feel so safe and loved! Jenna keeps you moving and laughing the whole class! Surprisingly there's a lot of locker space-love that! I took one of their signature We Flow Hard 60 minute classes! It was nicely blended with Bad bunny and candlelight! The instructor, Raine was really sweet and helpful! She corrected posture and provided different levels to challenge us. I appreciated the little sprinkle of ab work in the mix and could have done with more cardio! The room was really dark and lit only by candles but I like a moody setting so it works for me! All of the classes are heated to about 80-90 degrees so you really feel it and after class you're handed an ice cold face towel. When you check in there's complimentary hair ties, face wipes, mints at the front desk to use before or after class which is such a thoughtful touch! The best part is there's plenty of parking!

Their signature flows are set up in 3 parts: First the teacher takes the class through a sequence of poses slowly. Each pose is cued in detail and held for a few breaths to build muscle memory. For the 2nd part, the teacher cues those same poses but matches one breath to one movement (more fluid). Then for the final part, the teacher turns the music up and sets the class free to flow through the same sequence over and over on their own. I really enjoyed the sequences that I was guided through, and the studio itself had a great vibe. Everything was clean, everyone was nice, and I'm excited to come back and try some of their other classes!

I've heard great things about Bikram Yoga, and I know I love heat (love saunas), though I've never exercised in that kind of heat before. I signed up for the new student special, and after taking six classes, I've already signed up for the unlimited package going forward. I truly cannot say enough amazing things about this studio and the people who bring it to life! In order of appearance, these are the instructors I've had the great privilege of learning from so far: Tessa, Devan, Michael, Alexandra, and Jamie. And I can honestly say they are each and every one PHENOMENAL: incredibly knowledgeable, encouraging, helpful, attentive, talented, and passionate about this practice and sharing it with their students. I've picked up new pearls of wisdom from each of them, at each class. I am sure that all the teachers at the studio are fabulous, even those I haven't met yet, because that is clearly how they roll at YEA: excellence in all they do. (Thank you, thank you!) Although so far the only move I can do as it's intended is corpse pose (ha, but really), but just trying the poses is already making me feel different, body and mind (in a good way!). I appreciated that the website explained that we don't need to be "in shape" or flexible to start this practice-- that's what inspired me to try, knowing that the trying is the thing. I am confident that if I keep showing up with an earnest heart and mind, I will become more flexible, and I will improve my balance and my overall fitness level as well. Even after just one week, I'm making healthier eating choices in what feels like a natural way... I don't feel like I have to summon a will of steel to turn down junk food like I typically would. After sweating and stretching for 90 mins, my body wants clean food and lots of water, so I'm able to curb my sugar habit without feeling deprived. My body feels better, my mood is improved (I feel more peaceful and less anxious/ruminative), and I'm even sleeping better. The whole thing is actually kind of mind-blowing to me! In addition to the wonderful humans who work here (and Tillie, the super sweet doggie ambassador who is often there to greet me when I walk in), the studio itself is fantastic: clean and comfortable and welcoming, with lots of natural light. And as if all that's not enough: there is absolutely *stunning* artwork on display. Alexandra is the resident artist, and I'm in awe of her talent. (If my hubs is reading this: hint for my 55th birthday, please: Alexandra's art is for sale. Hint, hint.) If you're a newbie like me (or even if you're an accomplished yogi), you can't find a better yoga home than YEA. You'll be challenged and supported in the very best ways. YAY for YEA!! :-D

The classroom was bright, clean, and lovely, with floor-to-ceiling windows looking out on a shady row of live oak trees. (The next best thing to practicing yoga in a tree house!) The vibe was relaxed and encouraging and the students were diverse in age and level of practice. The teacher (Gabriel) was one of the best I've encountered in Bikram--insightful, attentive, not dogmatic. I left feeling awesome and can't wait to go back! I am so happy to have found my new Bikram home in Austin.

She helped me to rent a mat for free because it was my first visit. Then, she informed me about other classes at Pure, as well as a tour of the facility. The free mat was perfect for what I needed. There is an eyelet on the top left side of the mat, and that is where you lay the mat down in the room. I asked if the spots were reserved ahead of time because they do that at other studios, but there is not need to reserve a numbered spot - it just helps with mat placement and ensuring that people have enough room to move uniformly. I love that! I hate a crowded hot yoga room. The studio is surprisingly cleaner than most hot studios. There is a hydration station to refill your water bottle, which is nice because you aren't forced to purchase water. The restroom is really clean. I haven't seen gym showers that clean even at Equinox in California which I thought that the 3 SF Bay Area locations had nice enough showers. You are limited to a 3 minute shower here at Pure, but that's fine for a quick rinse and it's great when you have to share and are waiting for another person to finish, but they are taking forever to finish. The class itself was a nice succinct Bikram yoga class with the same 26 postures in 60 minutes instead of 90. Beth was a wonderful instructor who gave me a little trinket after my first class. I'm very excited to visit again on the traveler's pass!

I selected a couple in person classes and went to my first in person session excited to visit a studio that a couple of friends had recommended. First, the location is a bit odd, as I had been warned, but it's not nearly as difficult to find as people made it out to seem. Parking for my mid-day class was easy. I arrived about 10 minutes early and was greeted and given a tour of the studio, which is really charming and seemed to have all the amenities you might want. I love that they have a token system to indicate whether you're okay with being touched, storage spaces for your personal items, and a very calming light/curtain set up. The instructor and the class itself were fine! I've practiced yoga (mostly at home) for many years and was easily able to drop into the flow and pace of the class. I really love that the floor is cushioned and comfortable. It seems like there is a good range of class style options, but I did wish there were more options for classes (an early morning option would be ideal!) I also wish I had gotten a chance to take more classes in person, but I decided to take the remaining couple of classes that fit into my schedule virtually. After that first class, I overheard a complaint to the instructor about how their household was experiencing covid (?!?!?! I 100% realize this is not something a studio can control, but it made me feel uncomfortable that someone in such a seemingly health conscious, community-oriented, and small space would feel ok exposing people to potential risk like that.) Obviously I didn't get the same community feel in the livestreamed classes, but I did still feel somewhat included and able to communicate with the instructor, had I needed to. Big ups to O+L for offering virtual options for their classes to make them more accessible. It's still on my "to consider" list of studios to potentially join at the end of my search bc I appreciated the the convenient location, affordable cost of the trial + membership, body-neutral/positive approaches, and cozy space.

Honestly with the chilly weather right now it is SO PERFECT to do a hot yoga session and then walk outside in the cold right after! As mentioned before I'm a beginner, and still felt that his instructions were doable for all levels and were easy to understand. I was also surprised to see that the class was not stereotypically filled with women. Instead, there were many males present, which I feel like is not common in most yoga classes and it was cool to see. With Black Swan it is affordable which is nice. It is donation based so if you recently lost your job and still want a work out this place is affordable. The lowest donation is $10, I don't think you can find that kind of sliding scale easily at other studios.
