Not only is Shanley a wonderful human being, but she is an amazing teacher, with great attentions to detail (which is so, so important in Pilates), and with a capacity for motivating others that I have rarely seen. I worked with her individually and in all the classes that she is offering, including spinning which is one of the things that I said I would never do in my life. Well, Shanley will get you do things that you said would never do. I am not going to dwell on describing the benefits of Pilates - I am assuming that if you are interested in it, you know what miracles it does for your body. It has always been hard to find something unique that holds my attention for a long amount of time. After years of CrossFit, I needed something easier on my body, but also something that gave results. With Pure Barre, I not only saw results quickly, but also gained a whole community of driven individuals from all walks of life. Everyone is so supportive of one another and it truly feels like a family. What also keeps my attention is that we set goals and work to achieve special challenges! NEVER in my life have I been talked to like the woman at the front desk treated me this morning. I was 8 minutes late due to a stoplight malfunction (stuck at the light for 15 minutes), and the second I walked in the door she was already arguing with another member in the same predicament as me. She refused to let us into class, which I can understand if someone is egregiously late, but the fact that it was a circumstance that affected multiple members and was under 10 minutes late is very off putting. She was extremely condescending and rude, which is upsetting as I pay $217 a month to take classes here. If I'm paying that much money for a membership, I should be able to use it.

The…read moregym does cost more than others around, but the amenities are worth it (free locker service, free towel service, child care, etc.) Also, The Club has first-rate equipment, and it's definitely one of the classiest looking gyms I've ever visited. As for programs and equipment, The Club at Oak Branch has Les Mills fitness classes (BodyPump, BodyAttack, BodyStep, etc.), they have a large pool (I think it's Olympic sized, but don't quote me on that one-- it's huge, though), a nice cardio room with plenty of treadmills, elliptical machines, etc., and a weight room. They also have a unique program for young athletes called Parisi Speed School, which is a program designed to help athletes improve athletic performance, maximize their natural abilities, develop a higher level of self-confidence, and learn to prevent injury. If you live in the Greensboro area, check out The Club at Oak Branch or their sister site, The Club at Green Valley. Both locations are great.! Also, if you're just in town visiting, you should check them out because they have guest rates for visitors.
