I really like some of the instructors playlists; they can really set the mood for the class! They also change the lighting and fans based on the intensity and vibes of the class. I came here for a yoga class through class pass as I was looking for a slow, relaxing yoga session…read more Thankfully, that's exactly what I got! Instructor, Olga, was great and we focused on deep stretches that left me feeling renewed, which was especially helpful as I did HIIT exercises five days this week. There were a few things that I did not like which is why I'm skeptical of returning. First, there was absolutely no music. Every other yoga studio I've been to has, at minimum, played some sort of meditation or relaxing music. I'm someone who needs some kind of noise at all time, so I did not like the silent atmosphere. Additionally, the windows were kept open for the majority of the class, so the outside noise was coming through and was very distracting at times. The studio itself was very nice and well kept, but I noticed there weren't any mirrors in the room where the yoga class was held. I, personally, like to see myself in a mirror to ensure that I'm doing the poses correctly, so I found the lack of mirrors to be annoying. Otherwise, it was a great experience! The receptionist in the front was very kind and helpful. While I probably won't do another yoga class here, I am interested in trying out their Pilates classes!

Claudia is THE pilates princess, you really haven't had the full experience until you've tried one of her classes. JT and Curtina have the best playlists and will push you in the best way, while still ensuring form is on point. Emily G is amazing! Very patient and always gives clear instructions, which is also great for just starting out (but she will still challenge you for sure). They offer pilates 101 and pilates 102 for anyone who may be just starting out or nervous to try pilates. Lastly, the community is top tier. Good vibes from everyone and they do some community/special events as well. It really is more than a gym and you've got to come take class to see for yourself!

Being my first class, Kacie made sure to be inclusive and walked through all parts of the machine as it was designed slightly differently from other reformers. The studio was clean and equipment was well maintained. The industrial vibes of the interior design works well to invoke energy upon entering the room, while the smooth flowing music in the background calms the mind. It was overall a great class, and I would definitely return again. Pro tip: Parking can be a bit limited as the studio is in a prime location near downtown. I suggest arriving in the time gap between classes so that you can wait for a spot just as the last class prepares to leave.

This studio is now trying to open in Austin…read more Method Pilates creates an exclusionary and cold environment for their clients of color. I was really disappointed to see this studio open in my hometown (by the same owners) after having a terrible encounter at their original location in Houston. I honestly still feel triggered by the experience I had at Method several years ago, and think about it literally every time I enter a studio, particularly a new one - hoping to never feel that kind of shame (story below if you are interested) in a space where I usually feel so safe and grounded. Please be wary of their practices, especially to my other brown girls! There are so many other kind, warm, and welcoming studios in the Austin area owned by women. Urban Lagree, ATX Pilates, homebody, trufusion, and many many others are so much better to support. ________ I posted on Google Reviews about my experience and the harm it caused, and The studio owner tried to harass me about this review by calling my personal cell multiple times (they seemed to have kept it from the many years ago I was there which is a huge violation of privacy), via my socials (I did post comments there too, to share my experience) and sending me a fairly threatening DM (screenshotted below) - I have blocked them on all accounts. Instead of apologizing for the horrible experience, somehow turned it back on me as if it was my fault I was treated that way. Even though the current staff member doesn't work there, they still stood behind her when the comments were made, and would likely do so again if given the chance. They also seem to be flooding the comment/review section with family + friend reviews, so just please be cautious, Austin friends.
