The Stretch and Restore class was my first introduction to Method Pilates, and I loved it! It opened my eyes to new world of possibilities with the reformer, and Kacie, the instructor, was amazingly clear with instructions and designed a good class for stretching the full body. Being my first class, Kacie made sure to be inclusive and walked through all parts of the machine as it was designed slightly differently from other reformers. The studio was clean and equipment was well maintained. The industrial vibes of the interior design works well to invoke energy upon entering the room, while the smooth flowing music in the background calms the mind. It was overall a great class, and I would definitely return again. Pro tip: Parking can be a bit limited as the studio is in a prime location near downtown. I suggest arriving in the time gap between classes so that you can wait for a spot just as the last class prepares to leave. read more

This studio is now trying to open in Austin. Method Pilates creates an exclusionary and cold environment for their clients of color. I was really disappointed to see this studio open in my hometown (by the same owners) after having a terrible encounter at their original location in Houston. I honestly still feel triggered by the experience I had at Method several years ago, and think about it literally every time I enter a studio, particularly a new one - hoping to never feel that kind of shame (story below if you are interested) in a space where I usually feel so safe and grounded. Please be wary of their practices, especially to my other brown girls! There are so many other kind, warm, and welcoming studios in the Austin area owned by women. Urban Lagree, ATX Pilates, homebody, trufusion, and many many others are so much better to support. ________ I posted on Google Reviews about my experience and the harm it caused, and The studio owner tried to harass me about this review by calling my personal cell multiple times (they seemed to have kept it from the many years ago I was there which is a huge violation of privacy), via my socials (I did post comments there too, to share my experience) and sending me a fairly threatening DM (screenshotted below) - I have blocked them on all accounts. Instead of apologizing for the horrible experience, somehow turned it back on me as if it was my fault I was treated that way. Even though the current staff member doesn't work there, they still stood behind her when the comments were made, and would likely do so again if given the chance. I'd like to update my review after being here over a month now! I am still just as in love with the whole process, Stacy, tracelyn, Megan, Beja, Debra are AWESOME! I loved all of these instructors. Not sure what these bad reviews are saying by knock off reformers? They are definitely not knock offs. And it's Houston Tx in the summer time so it's humid outside but it's not bad inside at all. Pros: The instructor was friendly, the class was challenging, and the music was fun. It was a solid workout. Cons: As mentioned in other reviews, the parking situation is a major problem. They cram 15 reformers (not typical reformers, but more like a knockoff of a lagree megaformer) in a dark, humid room. The guidance was not detailed and there were only a few options for up/down levels provided. The instructor spoke about how she's a school teacher and also teaches weightlifting and another fitness class. She's a fitness instructor without seriousness or focus in Pilates, and it showed. Overall, I walked away with a good workout, but this is an inferior experience to Defy or Boost (for Pilates) or HIP, Fyre, or FORM (for Lagree). It could also be potentially dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. I've been doing Pilates in Houston for 5+ years, and this was my worst experience yet. read more

I have been coming here for about two years and truly it is a full body workout. Mind, body, and soul. All the women who work here are kind and helpful. They are training new teachers all the time and have a lot of diversity in the classes. Dani and Ashton make an effort to say hello to every client and answer all questions. Probably my favorite Pilates studio in the area. The instructors are very friendly which make it easy to come into the studio and feel at ease. They work your butt off too- I always feel like the classes are well spent!! Classes are 45 minutes in length. There is a studio in Montrose too that covers class times this studio doesn't have (like a earlyyy morning one). Well I love the stretch class but the reformer class doesn't work for me. I felt like I was going to injure myself using the machine and I don't feel this way at other studios like Boost. I feel the instructors don't always help your form and they don't always show you what to do. They didn't provide up and down levels. I like studios bigger on form and fine you options. I'm giving 2 stars bc I loved the layout of the studio. It was nice, I loved th blue. My first time at Method and I didn't enjoy my experience at all. It didn't feel at all welcoming. Dani was the teacher for this class and it just didn't feel right. The workout was okay. I left feeling like I honestly didn't do anything. I take Pilates at other studios all the time and thought I'd give Method a try since I'm literally always seeing them on insta rave about their workouts and how badass they are. Had I not known already or had experience in Pilates, I would've been clueless. Being a new client, she didn't explain the machine (which is not an allegro reformer) and didn't introduce herself. Parking was awful. Got there early and was late in the class bc I had to go find parking down the street in some weird ass place. Dani also seemed a bit rude. If this place were my first introduction to pilates, I'd never return or want to do Pilates ever again in life. Awful. HardCore Pilates, Defy, Citizen, & 713 are some of my favs! I did a class here through class-pass. The studio was very clean. This is not a studio for people who are new to Pilates reformer. The instructor was rude and expected you to know Pilates terms, and would correct your form in a snobbish rude manner. Definitely won't be coming here again. Was not welcoming at all. I just wanted to post an update to my previous review. I still don't like this pilates studio compared to others I have gone to. The reason for that is the complete lack of focus on flexibility and singular focus on squats. I personally think that highlights the lack of versatility the instructors take to pilates instruction. I will be going elsewhere. That said, I do have to say that I took another class on a different day with Caitlin and she was wonderful. She was positive and motivating. read more

Came to this studio at my workout partner's request, as I've only tried Pilates a few times and wasn't really a fan of the type of workout. Immediately upon entering I felt a great vibe...very clean, high energy, and inviting. The instructor did a great job of catering to me and my uncomfortable feeling on the machines, taking time to explain how they work and ensuring I was using every part of it correctly. I've been to probably 7 different Pilates locations and I was never very impressed, however I have finally found my home! (Thank god). The instructor was fantastic and pushed us the exact level we each individually needed... and I can really feel the difference after each class. Not that most people care about this but their studio is very sleek and modern with just the fundamentals which is what I love... it's all about the workout, no fluffy extra decorations distracting from what I'm there to focus on: my body and my attitude. I love this pilates studio! The reformers are custom made and fit my long frame like a charm. Every instructor has been amazing, with Ashton's class being the one I probably frequent the most. There's ample parking and the music is legit. Liv is also really funny, and makes you forget you're twitching and burning. Definitely give both locations a try! Method Pilates is such a positive and engaging workout environment! As someone who loooaathes counting reps in a work out, I LOVE that the movements are designed to go to the tempo of fun upbeat music! That way you get in a high amount of reps without any dreaded countdown. Every workout is the perfect challenge as well! It's never too slow to the point I don't feel like I'm pushing myself or getting my moneys worth, but it's not so unbearably challenging that I'm not excited to go. It really is the perfect, manageable workout routine to grow long lean muscle. I also love the wide range of instructors to choose from. If I'm having a day where I'm feeling particularly unmotivated I will make a point to take class with an instructor that I know will hold me accountable and push me to challenge myself! If I'm looking for something a little more relaxed I'll take one of the Friday afternoon courses with the instructor that really takes the time to work through the exercises with you and focus on winding down your week. Method really is what you make of it! Plus the classes are 50 minutes. There is no excuse to not workout for 50 minutes in a day :) read more
