Corbo's is more bakery than cafe (there's no tables for you to sit and enjoy inside like at Presti's), but they definitely satisfy the pastry buff. On sale are any number of fresh cookies, cakes, canollis, kolaches, and other desserts not beginning with a "c" sound. You'll also notice the displays full of pre-boxed goodies that are great as potluck finishers. If you've never had a Buckeye and you love peanut butter + chocolate, please, make Ohio proud and get one. (But don't ever actually eat a real buckeye nut.) Now, weighing in on the great debate. I have to say that although Corbo's canollis aren't as flashy, they won over Presti's in my palate book. The crust is crispier, the custard is more fresh and tangy. Just, yes. read more

I have multiple caterings/big orders from here. Always super nice and timely. I enjoy their backers and service seems friendly! Will come back to try their pastries (I usually get donuts) read more

Hands down best eclair I have ever had! We also got a cheesecake brownie and a lobster tail which is like a crescent roll stuffed with cream filling also delicious. They have a wide variety of baked goods and are rated as having the best cannolis in little Italy. If you are even remotely close to the area do yourself a favor and stop by. read more

Service was excellent. Fast and friendly. The pastries and candies were delicious. Would recommend it to anyone that is in the area.

Items Tasted: Cassata Cake Filled to Order Cannoli Sfogliatelle Apricot Kolachy, Cream Cheese Kolachy, Butterballs with Walnuts, Fig and Date Cucadati, Buckeyes, Rainbow Cookies, Birthday Cookies One of many family-owned spots amidst Cleveland's compact and oft-overlooked Little Italy, Corbo's Bakery and nearby rival Presti's have long competed for the title of Northeast Ohio's best place for Cookies, Cassata Cake and Cannoli, an endorsement from Mario Batali still not enough to sway locals lured in by the latter's polish and café style seating, but undoubtedly a point of view that carries serious weight amongst travelers - and one that proved to be truthful on an October Saturday morning. Long and shotgun straight, from entryway to the kitchen in back, Corbo's Bakery stuffs the space at 12210 Mayfield Road with the sort of scene recognizable from the streets of New York or Boston while eschewing the high prices and recognizable Bronx accents, the same family still in charge after 50+ years, though the staff on this particular day was mostly comprised of CWRU students that were perfectly pleasant despite audibly being heard throughout the visit describing late-night shenanigans from the previous evening. Taking time to peruse the options, bakers from the back filing out with cookies, cakes and more to replenish store shelves, it was after some deliberation that a total of thirteen items were selected and taken to one of two small high-tops for indulgence, a few repeats and leftovers saved for later and eventually shared with visiting family. Priced slightly higher than Presti's when compared item-for-item, but making up for the hike by focusing on small details like filling Cannoli to order, it was with a loud crack that the lengthy cylinder gave way to smooth Mascarpone filling, the Sfogliatelle an equally shattering experience with springy coils launching Confectioner's Sugar skyward as teeth plunged into the Citrus-scented Ricotta center. Famed for its Cassata Cake, essentially a Strawberry Shortcake upgraded by a rich layer of Custard, it can only be assumed that the Crocs-clad Celebrity Chef visited during the height of Summer when he deemed the item "best I have ever tried in the USA," several not-yet-ripe fruit slices marring an otherwise decent cake-slice while an Italian Cookie collection proved far more compelling, the Buckeyes and Butterballs a throwback to Childhood while the freshly made Rainbow Cookies were perhaps the best *I* have ever tasted. read more

This is absolutely my all time favorite bakery in Ohio! The Cannoli's are seriously the best. The taste, the texture and of course, I love the chocolate dip on the ends but, you can get without as well. Now, we can talk about the Cassata cake. It is simply, amazing and is asked for by every person in our family for their birthday cake! Fresh strawberries, amazing home made custard filling, not overly sweet whipping cream and the flowers that they add even taste amazing. Everyone always wants a flower on their piece. RECOMMEND to ALL. read more

Best donuts in Cleveland. Best gelato in the US ( and I've had a lot of gelato). Plus they have toffee which is weirdly hard for me to find. Highly recommend this little bakery in the heart of Little Italy! read more

Located in the heart of Little Italy on Mayfield Road, Corbo's is a fourth generation Italian bakery specializing in cassata cakes, cannolis, tiramisu, lemon ice and other Italian pastries. On a recent trip, I had the chocolate cannoli. The tube shaped fried pastry was perfectly crisp. The ends dipped in chocolate & upon ordering, filled with a fresh, sweet, creamy ricotta cheese mixture. The divine combination sent my pallet on a wild journey through flavortown. Madone! read more

Go and get a friggin' cannoli already!!!! The best bakery in Little Italy and perhaps in all of Cleveland. You can't beat their fresh handmade cannolis, so why try? I've also had their cakes and they are wonderful. Every time I go to Little Italy I make a stop and you should, too. read more

First time being incredibly disappointed with Corbos. Staff that assisted me was extremely rude! Cassata Cake was not up to par, extremely dry and over priced. Guess I will be finding a new go to bakery. Not what it use to be sadly read more

I should start by admitting that I spent many a college night pigging out on elaborately flavored cannoli from Mike's Pastry in Boston's North End. How could anything compare to Mike's, with the spectacle of those classic white and blue pastry boxes, the stamped tin ceiling tiles, and the hordes of people lined up along the block just waiting to get in? Nevertheless, back in Cleveland...I'm not sure why everybody talks about Presti's, because the cannoli at Corbo's are pretty darn good. The shell is fresh and crunchy, and the filling is delicious - smooth, sweet but not too sweet, and with just a hint of...(up to you to figure it out). tldr, Presti's versus Corbo's: - cannoli: Corbo's, hands down - tiramisu: Presti's, hands down - cassata cake: Corbo's, possibly...the jury is still out. Don't forget to get a little box of whatever in the odds and ends discount fridge! I'm partial to the Oreo cheesecake ends. One day I'll make it past that and try some of their cookies. read more

The food is great but I wish I could say that about the service. The lady that's always there named Courtney was rude to me and gave me short answers. Maybe she was having a bad day but then I noticed the way she interacted with other customers and turns out she was only rude to me! She told me she cannot warm my pizza up because she because she is the only one working there but when I was waiting for my Uber to arrive, she started using profane language and talked to the other employee in the back kitchen. Corbo's can definitely do better with better service at the front end because the food is great but service is terrible. read more

I can't tell you how many times I've picked up a cassata cake from Corbo's for a party - their cakes are truly a part of the Cleveland culture and are super popular at any party! The cake itself is light, the cream super decadent, and the fresh fruit a wonderful complement to the existing flavors. I haven't gotten many other sweets from Corbo's, but their cases are always stocked with a wide variety of cookies and cakes and other delicious-looking confections. If you're looking for a unique and delicious cake, I would definitely recommend coming here! read more

This is a wonderful little place owned by a great American family that I will always support.

Everything is sooooooo good. I make sure I leave with at least 2 jars of their homemade (inhouse) pasta sauce. My choice of cake is what's going down today---they freeze up awesome for the holiday---CarrotCake it is! We visited the bakery last Saturday- all excited to get the famous Cassata cake. We've had it in the past so we knew it was good- well, something has changed. It was more like a cake gone wrong and made into strawberry shortcake. The cake was liquified from the strawberry sauce and then doused with whipped cream. Very disappointing! I won't be getting that there again! The other bakery we got was delicious! So, yes, I recommend going but don't get their cassata cake. read more

A real bakery with people who know what they are doing. Thank God! Finally a bakery that can make a cake that is moist, delicious and beautiful. I ordered a white cake with raspberry filling. It was absolutely delicious. I am fully converted to Corbo's Bakery. The day after my birthday, I found myself eating cake for breakfast (still moist), lunch and dinner. I ate cake all day. Prior to going to Corbos, I ordered several cakes from a bakery in Lyndhurst, in which the cakes were dry, and the last one I ordered was nothing but 50 pounds of icing and dry. NOT AT CORBO'S! Also, they have butter cookies and other pastries beyond your imagination. FINALLY A REAL BAKERY! The two ladies working in the bakery were super nice, professional, and managed the customers with ease. I cannot thank you enough. I picked up my cake on Saturday, January 15th. All 5 stars. Thank you read more

Yum! Maybe I just picked right on this one? Maybe it is the best? But the tiramisu won my heart! I visited during the Feast of the Assumption and even though vendor food is sometimes subpar, the tiramisu was a little piece of heaven! I was with a few friends and it was hard for us to share. We also ordered some of the famous cassata cake, which was yummy, but as best as I can describe, it's like a muted sweetness. This was my first time trying the cake. It wasn't what I expected. The strawberries were big and juicy, the cake and cream light and fluffy. But that tiramisu. Oh that tiramisu! Mmmm. I forgot how much I love that stuff. Thank you for the reminder Corbo's! read more

I have been getting pastry from Corbo's for about 30 years. The Cannolis are incredible. Sweet ricotta filled in the shell when you order. I've ordered Casita cakes over a dozen times and they are consistently incredible. The Sicilian and traditional are delicious. I was in Boston this weekend and went to the north end which is the little Italy of Boston. Both places did not stand up to Corbo's though came highly recommended by locals. In both cases I didn't even finish it. Cleveland we are lucky to have a great Italian bakery. read more

Really good. Love the pepperoni bread and cake leftovers deals. Would recommend checking it out!

Rude service would be ok if the baked goods were exceptional. High prices would be ok if the baked goods were a taste of Italy. Has anyone who works at this bakery tasted a cannoli in Sicily or a sfogliatella in Naples? Has anyone who gave this high-priced tourist trap four or five stars ever been to a pastry shop anywhere in the south of Italy? The $1.75 each mini cannoli were meh. Cannoli filled with chocolate chips and ricotta? Not in Sicily, paesano. The sfogliatelle were filled with grainy, lumpy gloop that was supposed to be delicate pastry cream. The sfogliatelle we bought were tough and chewy not light and crispy. The food of Neapolitan aristocracy sold in this bakery is little more than an insult to Napoletani who've made these pastries famous. In your search for authentic Italian pastries walk on by this place. read more

I just moved in the neighborhood about a week ago and I've probably already gained 5 pounds from eating here. There are so many delicious things here. I highly recommend their donuts. I don't know the exact name of these but it's like a straight croissant shaped pastry that is glazed and stuffed with walnuts and only $3. Another thing that is phenomenal is this pretzel looking pastry that is glazed. I've only scratched the surface of their menu and I look forward to coming here again. Their cake is also amazing. Ignore the other negative reviews of this place by pretentious Yelp millennials. If you come here, you will not be disappointed. read more

Corbo's is a classic Italian bakery. The specialize in there cannolis, and they don't disappoint. There are two varieties, chocolate dipped and traditional. The filling is clearly made fresh, and has the classic taste of fresh creme. Along with the cannolis people come for small specialty cookies, and cakes too I believe. I date a Carbone, a member of an old Italian family in Cleveland. Rumor has it that in the past if you went here for a wedding cake, and weren't Italian you were turned away. It was a strictly Italian American only business. I find history fascinating so the history behind this practically historic bakery is breathtaking. I almost wish I had a time machine just so they could tell me to take a hike for the novelty. Ok! Enough history, you walk in, and like any bakery work your way down a line ordering items you see passing by cases as you go. I love this format personally! One other gem here my boyfriend pointed out was the pepperoni bread, it's irresistible. The Cannolis are also the best in the city, if not the United States. Whenever I need a cannoli I know where to go. read more

If you like cassata cake then you HAVE to come here! I've gotten my birthday cake here for several years in a row because that's just how good it is! I can't say I've tried much other than this, but if everything else is as good as their cassata cake then nothing can beat this place. read more

This is my fiancé's fav bakery. I am from NYC and spoiled. I have to say their Cassata cake is amazing! Would highly recommend it.

Corbo's is a great place for highly traditional Italian baked goods, prepared in the traditional manner. Corbo's covers the full range of traditional sweets, but that type of dessert just isn't my personal preference. The location is historic, and it's worth the visit if you're in Little Italy. read more

Yum, Yum, Yum, gelato is amazing. And having a wheat allergy, the majority of bakeries are look only for me... not at Corbo's they have gluten free almond cookies that are beyond delish, and even sell GF pasta to take home! You won't be sorry you stopped by, the legend is worth the hype. read more

Awesome spot for dessert or whatever your sweet tooth may require. Little Italy is a very quaint place to visit in the Cleveland area.

Stopped in during the feast after being disgusted with the service from Prestis Bakery and the ladies at Corbos could not have been any nicer! My bikini body's biggest enemy in Cleveland. Drool worthy homemade pastry need I say more?? Corbo's is a place you go and you are instantly taken back to a time when you were with your parents in a candy store for the first time as a child. With childlike wonder you see all the pastries through the glass. The pure excitement of the joy you are about to experience with every bite it magical. You'll never be rushed to make a choice even on their busiest days. There is not a single thing I have had from Corbo's that wasn't sheerly orgasmic. Everything is done with the perfection and love of a grandmother. It truly is a slice of homemade heaven. Not to Miss: Tiramisu, soft not soaked lady fingers with the smoothest marscapone perfectly sweetened and vanillaed all topped with a layer of fine Italian espresso. Cassatta cake, white cake, creamy vanilla pudding, fresh strawberries all topped with homemade whipped cream. Cannoli Ever wonder why the godfather passed on the advice leave the gun take the cannoli? Try corbo's it will be apparent. Creamsicle Torte Orange, Cream, Vanilla really is there anything that takes you back to orange popsicles stuffed with vanilla ice cream as well? Peperonni bread, Cured meat, fresh mozarella, and flaky Italian bread best lunch you can ever have. Hit or miss: um. . . the weather. .. .it is in Cleveland Avoid like the plague: Only if your watching fat sugar or cholesterol. read more

Attention cookie lovers: if you prefer the brightly-colored, sweet, soft cookies, like rainbow ones for example, or those pink or green leaves with chocolate in the middle, then go to Corbo's instead of Presti's!! I went to Presti's the other night in search of some sugar. While that bakery was populated and fun in its own way, with lots of coffee drinkers and "designer" looking pastries, it's not what I was craving. Went to Corbo's, and I knew just from the smell walking in that I had found what I was looking for. Everything was fantastic, from the chocolate drops to the raspberry-filled. My favorites are always the rainbow cookies, though, and I was so happy they had them here! My husband loved the cannoli too, and said the shell was light and airy and the filling was smooth and not overly sweet with a great texture and crunch overall. Would love to come here for a big-ass cake sometime. read more

Of the 2 bakeries in Little Italy, Corbos is by far, the best! The cookies are super fresh and they melt in your mouth. The creamy cassata cake is the best I've had (Mario Batali apparently agrees). The chocolate fudge cheesecake is to die for! I'm not a fan, but I've heard the cannolis are the best...getting their sweet tasty filling AFTER you buy them, which is a necessity. People come from all over for the pepperoni bread. It truly is, ALL THAT. Don't forget to try the spinach version! I think I like that one better. I haven't had anything I didn't like and I've tried just about everything at this point. The prices are definitely high, but that's to be expected. Try finding pastry this good anywhere else! Corbos used to be on the corner of Mayfield and Murry Hill. They recently moved next door, which just made sense. The old place, although charming and old school, was too small and was falling apart. The new place is huge, complete with tables and chairs and large cases full of goodies. My one big complaint is the ambiance (which is why I'm giving a 4 star rating). It's so bright, it feels like a grocery store. There's nothing warm or inviting about the place. I feel like I'm on display when inside. There's no need for the stark lighting for the pastry cases are well lit. It's a shame because the place could be really nice. I go in and I get out quick. You won't find locals hanging out with their laptops here. When it's warm, you can sit outside, which is nice. If Corbos were to get wise and soften the lighting, maybe adding a drop fixture or two, they'd be a really be a force to recon with. read more

Being a full blooded Guido, I've had my share of Cannoli's from all sorts of Markets, Bakeries, and Restaurants. And I have to say, they had the best Cannoli's I've ever had. The shells are thicker than most, and the filling was delicious, creamy and sweet. Thank you Corbo's--Gratzi! read more

This places gets overlooked a lot because it's so close to Prestis. But if you're looking for baked goods definitely come here! I usually get a cannoli and I do think this place has the best around. Stopped in during the Feast of the Assumption after picking up a few bowls of handmade cavatelli at their stand outside the bakery. The bakery smells like a dream--namely, a fragrant, vanilla-scented, ice-cream-y dream. They sport a dazzling array of cookies and cakes, of which we sampled their tiramisu and cannolis. The tiramisu was hands down the best I've ever had: the filling was rich but fluffy and infused with an intense mocha flavor, paired with a crumbly chocolatey bottom layer. Good thing I don't live near Little Italy...I'd have it every day if I could. The cannolis were pretty good but the filling, which is embedded with chocolate chips, had an odd, custard-like--super smooth yet dense-lumpy texture. Colozza's in Parma still has the lead in the cannoli category, at least for me. I'm not sure if they carry this all the time, but their cavatelli was excellent, with the creamy-al-dente texture of fresh pasta and stick-to-you-ribs heaviness that's characteristic of Italian comfort staples. The only drawback: our cavatelli bowls each came with an enormous meatball, just a tad smaller than a baseball, and while the flavor was good, the texture was disappointing. 60% of it must have been comprised of some odd filler that resembled bits of wet paper. In short: Corbo's makes killer tiramisu and cavatelli (pasta only). They'll definitely be on the top of my list when I'm looking for a cassata cake or any cake, really. read more
