After ten years (so far) of exile in MA and numerous trips to the North End Dear Hubby and I have not been able to find any bakery as good as Corbo's. Had to make the pilgrimage to Corbo's when we were in OH last week and once again they did not disappoint. Got a sack of their biscotti and compared one-to-one against a bakery near our home. I was actually looking for the bakery that my dad would take me to when I was little that was in the same area, but settled on this one. Absolutely NOTHING to write home about. Got the Tiramisu (have had better from a grocery store) and a walnut pastry (looks like a flying saucer). When I got to the counter, bill came to $8, but the price really didn't click until I left. I was wondering what the hell I just bought for $8 and called to see how much each item was. When the lady told me the Tiramisu was $5, I laughed - it could practically fit in the palm of my hand and the walnut pastry was nothing special, the ones sold at Publix in Atlanta are only $1.99 and taste far better! read more

Without a doubt, Corbos is the best bakery. The staff is friendly and professional. Every thing they make is amazing, you cant find a better Bakery. The coconut bars and the hazelnut biscotti happen to be the be my favorites!! Get yourself to Corbos!! read more

If you're going to get the lobster tail, ask them how fresh it is, or nibble a little piece of it before you leave. I got one and it was so rubbery, fruit leather was easier to cut and chew. read more

Since 1976 I have gone to Corbo's, first as a law student (canolli helps studying), then as a bride (wedding cake), then for four children's baptisms, communions, graduations...always getting the strawberry-filled cassata cake and it is always the best ever. Now we are in the SF Bay area and I have a GRANDSON's baptism coming up, I have looked all over the city for something as good. I'll have to call Corbo's tomorrow and see if they can do a cross-country shipment in dry ice. It's that good! read more

The bakery is ok but very overpriced not worth the money I see most of the same cookies at giant eagle for $3.00 a pound they want $14 a pound which is redicloidous also the people that work there are very extreamly rude and swear and try to be stuck up i dont know why if you dont own it your making under 7 a hour! how could you be stuck up! read more

The cassata cake is every bit as good as the hype. It is a perfectly moist yellow cake, with layers of delicious yellow custard and strawberries, and the whip cream frosting is so light and fluffy. This cake is decadent without being heavy. I just ate a piece, and unfortunately the rest of the cake is at home. I wish I had more cake.... read more

We went in on Sunday after dinner, and after two other customers left, we were the only two customers in the bakery. The two employees were right behind the counter and both blatantly ignored us. Apparently they wanted to clean up early so they could go home. After they continued to ignore us as we stood at the counter to order, we finally just left without saying anything. read more

Why go anyplace else on Mayfield for treats? The cassata cake is wonderful as it has been for years. The pepperoni bread is as good as home made. Love the cookies as well with a very rich selection. Cannoli is always a challenge as to only eat one. Corbos is one of a kind and I always make sure to visit. read more

Feast of the Assumption....sometimes food served at stands is not so great, but Corbos was some of the better food that we ate. The "kids" working the stands were rude and obnoxious. One was even smoking as he was standing above the food. Hopefully they were only part time help, but we won't be eating there again. read more

I called to order a whole cheesecake with strawberries, but was told by the girl on the phone that they only sold them by the slice. I told her that I bought one two years ago for a welcome home party for my girlfriend's son who graduated from boot camp, but she said that she's been working there for four years and they never sold a whole cheesecake. They did. One could buy them with or without cherries. The girl seemed bothered with my question and told me that they wouldn't have it ready anyway in 24 hours. Not only is the food delectable but they are efficient too! For the past 4 years I have telephonically ordered birthday cakes from Cape Town, using my South African credit card, for my son studying at CIM and each year the cake is as good as the last. This year was a tiramisu serving 25 (which I believe was delicious!) and, although I forgot to ask for birthday decor on the cake I was thrilled to see a photo of it festooned with icing flowers and looking appropriately celebratory. I would have given them 5 stars except that they don't label the strudels that they sell at Marc's very carefully. They almost always mix their blueberry and cherry with cream cheese however they fail to mark them as having cream cheese. We prefer zero cream cheese and have been disappointed numerous times. Their bakery is great, labeling could be better. read more

Corbos is the BEST !! They have the BEST Taramisu and Cannoli's in my opinion !! I have been eating their bakery goods for a long time.
