At first I was hesitant to come with my family based on the reviews, but we had a very nice experience. We came around 2 PM on a Tuesday and was met with very friendly staff. Our server Niko was outgoing and very accommodating. The food is good for the price, especially lunch specials. Would recommend getting the scrod fish, very light and tasty! A group of 8 of us went in there last weekend. From the moment I walked in I simply had a bad vibe of this place. Needless to say, after our food arrived not even 5 mins into our meal my buddy finds what looked like a water bug cooked in with his bacon. The rest of us instantly stopped eating and only half of us had eaten more than half our meals. Feeling disgusted we all got up and went to the cashier where this elder gentleman who I am going to assume was the owner handed us a check for a little over $95. Amazed that not even one meal was deducted we refused and made it clear that half of us had not eaten half our meals and that they should simply deduct those meals if not the entire check. Well maybe this Elderly Moran has no clue that sites like YELP exist and someone should tell him. The hostess was clear when saying that the kitchen staff cooks with the door to the outside open because of the heat in the kitchen so the possibilities of something crawling into the kitchen and making it to your table are very good.. She also said "this happens all the time in all types of establishments" DUH we know that Ms Hostess but if you want to keep your customers and prevent them from writing reviews like this then just maybe you should think of treating your customers with a little more respect and comp their food and quit the excuses. And while you are at it, convince that Eldery Gentleman that just maybe adding an AIR CONDITIONER in that kitchen will help those poor workers and give them a reason to give a damn about what they put out of their kitchen. This diner is so yummy! It also helps when you lieterally live right around the corner. I can't tell you how many times this place in the weeeee hours of the morning has saved my hiney with a grilled cheese sammy with tomato and bacon. Breakfast is deliccious, The Gyros are one of the best I've had (you just have to ask for lettuce) Fries well done are out of this world. I came in last week and was waited on by the best waitress out there. Her name was Doreen and she was such a pleasure, really went out of her way for me and my family. When the jukebox at our table wasn't working, she picked up our drinks and moved us to another part of the diner - and we didn't even ask! It was probably eleven in the evening, so the restaurant was not crowded; as the only waitress on duty, it probably would have been easier for her to leave us on the other side where all the other patrons were. The servers have a horrible attitude, they bring you dishes that are dirty, mangers are nasty and disrespectful. The food is tainted and smells horrible. For a business of a restaurant you would think they would have a better respectful way and teach their workers to show respect for customers. I complained to the owner and he told me that I want welcome there anymore and lied to the police when we called. I will always let people know this place is nasty and have a disrespectful manner. Always a great experience. I've been a regular for years now, more so within the last year since I stared a new job close by. Great food & service always. Sometimes my co workers & I will call to place our orders in advance & inform our server we will be coming on our lunch break ( 1 hour ). Our food is always ready upon our arrival. The menu has any dish anyone could want, and I love the gluten free / low cal options. The kitchen has always been accommodating to our dietary needs. Worst diner i've ever eaten at. The food was cold, under cooked, and made with the cheapest ingredients. I ordered the French toast deluxe. The toast was under cooked and soggy in the middle. I had to ask for syrup, apparently it's not included, and it was prepackaged junk. The egg was the smallest egg I have ever seen the sausage was just that, a sausage..not a breakfast sausage. The ham was a prepackaged slab of ham. My wife got jalepeno peppers, (straight from the bag of frozen foods), mozzarella sticks (same), and a spinach salad. I ordered a breaded chicken triple decker sandwich and the chicken came back tough like a piece of rubber and the bread crumbs were peeling right off the chicken.. Absolutely horrendous. I do not usually write angry reviews and I understand that a diner occasionally has an off day but this time was too much. I took my family to the Coram Diner for dinner. We have gone there many times over the past twenty years and sometimes it is great sometimes not so great. Usually the wait staff is awesome. We had a waitress that has served us many times in the past the most recently was prior to the covid crisis in 2019. I ordered a Romanian tenderloin dinner. This is where I should have known better. Every time I order steak or a burger, there it comes out well done and not how I like it which is very rare. I send it back and eventually they get it right. Sadly sometimes this takes two or three returns. Tonight I ordered my Steak very rare. It came out Medium well: Mostly gray-brown throughout, but with a hint of pale pink inside. It's a slightly juicy steak, but with no sign of blood in it. I showed it to the waitress who took it back. this time she came back with the same steak and told me the chef had cut the middle and it was "Rare" I cut the steak into several strips and showed her that it was medium well. She took it back and then came back with nothing claiming the chef would not make a new one because it was "Ten dollars a pound." She took the price of the drinks my family had off the bill instead of removing the price of the steak. She said there was nothing else she could do. I also need to point out that my wifes chicken meal was well done and the side order of corn on the cob was mushy. I paid the bill and advised the owner of my dissatisfaction. He claimed the steak was rare. he then snidely said "If you want we can give it to you raw. I congratulated him on his customer service and advised him that after twenty years we would not be returning. I should have ordered something other than steak. read more

I walked in with my bestfriends & the host was so monotone and he sounded like Riff Raff from Rocky Horror Picture Show, I was cackling a bit because I was shocked and I was in the mood to time warp all of a sudden. Never disappoints at being disappointing!! I have already pretty much taken them off my list but I worked an all nighter at work and wanted to have some breakfast before I headed home and went to sleep. Coram Pond as the OG's know it, a classic diner with more choices than an SAT test. This is a must-have when I visit the old stomping grounds. First off, the menu. If you can't find something you like here, give up on eating. From massive entrees to sandwiches and soups, there is something for every range of appetite. I love the gyros and the Greek salad is awesome. I know the Manhattan clam chowder probably comes out of a massive vat but I love it anyway. Some more favorites: the turkey dinner platter, complete with cranberry sauce and gravy, the pasta dishes are plentiful and great, chicken francese..the list goes on and on. If you need some music to chomp to, as with most diners, there's a jukebox at every table. The service is always prompt and very friendly. It won't take long for you to be recognized as a regular. One side of the diner is more traditional decor and to the right is a bit more "fine dining" dare I say, with a good view of cars hurtling by on Route 112. Parking can be hairy, with limited spots and potholes the size of craters, but it's worth it! read more

I went here with two friends on a fairly slow night. There was only one other party besides us. The waitress we had was really nice. When she saw that I was finished with the plate, she took it and placed the strawberry shortcake in front of me. That's some good service. It also looked like they were getting ready to close as it was approaching 1AM but the waitress told us we could stay as long as we wanted. That was nice, but we didn't stay long because we knew she wanted to go home as soon as possible. I ordered the eggs deluxe, which consisted of 2 eggs scrambled with bacon, ham, sausage, home fries, and toast. Something I recommend. The strawberry shortcake was average, nothing special. We call this place the Coram Swamp. Legend has it that there used to be a swamp on that there plot of land, then it was drained. Then they built a diner on it. The timeline is simplified, but you get the idea. The Swamp is awful, but we love it anyway. It's a great place to meet up with people because it is centrally located in Coram. Apparently a "panini" described as "sliced steak, peppers, onions, and cheddar" means an untoasted kaiser roll with gray mystery meat. No peppers, no onions, no cheese, no panini.
