Staff are super friendly and have recommended 10/10 sandos every time. Sandwiches are LARGE. So don't come alone so you can try more than one. My favorite is hands down the chicken Caesar. Don't worry, it's not a salad. It's mostly chicken. Will be back again to try all the other sandwiches!

Now this is how you make a sandwich! There's such a thrill in finding incredible local eats. I'm…read morenot usually a big sandwich person, but a good foodie friend of mine said they heard the hype about Scozzafava's so I went along. No regrets. If you didn't know about this spot, you might easily pass by without a second glance. Scozzafava's serves up authentic, classic Italian sandwiches that just slap. They use a soft sesame seed bun, which probably is the most unique part of the sandwich. For their marinara sandwiches, I wish they used a thicker bun to better absorb all the sauce. The sesame bun didn't keep its integrity, sadly. The meatball marinara was glorious! Slightly spicy, super moist meatballs, slightly sweet marinara, and perfectly paired with bitterness of the rapini. Don't forget the cheese pull! We also grabbed the classic Italian deli, which was scrumptious and very filling. You can't go wrong with either option, in my opinion.

The 1762 from Earl has been stuck in my head and I can't wait to try it again. Succulent roast beef with sharp cheddar and a tangy horseradish sauce, commingling toasty in a soft bun. I've mentioned here before that I'm not a huge fan of hot subs. But, EoS has won me over. The Holiday Turkey Sandwich gets reviews as "the best sandwich I ever had" online so I wanted to try it. I make a mean turkey leftover sandwich so the first day I thought it was "ok". But the 2nd day I heated the other half up, and it had me SINGING. The sando's are tightly wrapped in paper and foil so they arrived in perfect shape even for take-out (delivery) across the city. I generally upgrade to "double meat" and eat half a sandwich at a time. I can't wait to try more varieties and definitely sink my teeth into another 1762.

Very flavorful with a great marina sauce to balance the meatballs. Spice level was mild. If you are very sensitive to spice, this may not be for you. Beef Dip 10/10! Tender meat and flavorful rosemary au jus. Can't complain. Both sandwiches were a good size to be full. The bread was the best part: it was very soft and plush to soak up all the sauce and flavor in without getting soggy.

The beef dip sandwich was good, especially with the dip. Personally, the arugula inside the sandwich was an interesting combination; probably not needed. The mozzarella sticks were smaller than expected; five for $12.95. This price is almost equivalent to a sandwich, so I personally don't think they're worth getting. I would recommend this place if you're in the area and want a quick bite.

I stopped by thinking it was simply a coffee/espresso bar but found much more. In talking to my family who are new to the area and are great cooks, I found they were already well aware and are making use of their services, including special orders for their work. This is a destination to seek out, not simply a neighborhood spot. I'd drive across the city to get what they're offering here. That good. Very highly recommended.

Meat and sauerkraut top notch. Found a hair in one of the sandwiches though, not a big deal, it happens, but c'mon if you work in a deli long hours maybe use hair nets? Besides that, could be a better bread to meat ratio, otherwise ingredients were excellent quality. Would I go there again? Absolutely yeah, if I'm passing by, this just isn't a "destination deli" but at the same time I don't think its supposed to be, if I lived close by I would probably go in on a somewhat regular basis. Again, great prices, I'd say its worth a try for sure.

Aloha Modern Kitchen - A Taste of the Islands Right Here in Calgary!…read more I've been meaning to check out Aloha Modern Kitchen for quite some time, and I finally had the chance to visit this past Sunday evening. Let me just say--it was well worth the wait! We ordered the Maui Ribs, Loco Moco, Charred Broccolini, and a few cocktails to round out the evening. As someone who's had my fair share of Loco Moco in Hawaii (it's my go-to breakfast item whenever I visit the islands), I was extremely excited to try it here in Calgary. To my amazement, Aloha's version did not disappoint--the Loco Moco and Maui Ribs were absolutely incredible! Packed with flavor, perfectly juicy, and cooked to perfection. I couldn't stop raving about it, and my guest was equally impressed. If you're looking for an authentic taste of the islands without hopping on a plane, I highly recommend dining at Aloha Modern Kitchen. It's a little slice of Hawaii right in the city.

Add in some Canadian favourites like burgers, pizza, chicken wings and sandwiches, with Butter Chicken or Asian Fried Cauliflower to mix it up. My jerk chicken was really good. Dishes headed to other tables also looked delicious. I will definitely try it again, depending on what kind of food I'm looking for. This is your straight-up mom & pop sandwich shop located in a nondescript building in a semi-industrial/commercial business area. There's nothing fancy about this place. No special equipment behind the counter. Actually looking at their kitchen it might even remind you of your own at home. There's nothing spectacular about their sandwiches. There's no gimmick. You could just as easily make the same sandwich at home but you're a lazy asshole and didn't bring your own lunch. The ingredients are fresh, there's no BS about the menu, and you can get lunch for under $10 easy. I went with the namesake sandwich. Ham, roast beef, chicken, a slice of processed cheese, two plain old pieces of white bread, and the usual veggies and condiments. $6.50. Tasty.
