Dis place is superlekker. It is in the HEART of Leidseplein on the Prinsengracht - one of the most coveted locations in Amsterdam. It's a gezellig broodjes (sandwich) shop. Too bad we can only have ONE person inside at at time. That is NOT their fault. It's because they have two wonderful people working so you don't have to wait forever. You simply order inside then wait outside and watch them make your broodjes through their full-frontal facing windows. But the bottom line is the sandwich was amazing. I can't wait to go back. I feel good "Feng shui" when I'm there. The prices are fair and they are so friendly...also very good with Engels. :)

We were looking for a place where we could get a to-go sandwich to enjoy outside on the canal. This place was incredible. Like others have said the sandwiches are simple but made with such high quality ingredients. I had a prosciutto and cheese sandwich with this truffle mayo that was to die for. Don't get me started on the baguette. They have a good selection of drinks ranging from beer to juices which you can take. The sandwiches are made to order but it took longer to find a bench along the canal than it did to prepare the order. Definitely recommend if you are in the area and need a quick bite!

Arugula, fig jam, and goat cheese on white bread with roast beef

This sandwich was to die for. I had the #19 with arugula, fig jam, and goat cheese on white bread and added roast beef. The service was very kind and sweet, and I would recommend this place to anyone for a quick, satisfying meal.

    The sandwich choices!

Hardly your typical Dutch sandwich place.. this hot spot is pretty spectacular! They have lots of little extra add-ons (chips, nuts, dried fruits, wines, coffee, fresh juices) but it's their sandwiches- they're the absolute highlight! There 22 different broodjes on the menu with 4 different kinds of bread you can get it on. I can recommend the roast beef (No. 21!!) on the ciabatta with olives, and if you get extra grilled courgettes as well (for €1.20), it's the best broodje on the menu! Something to note is that all the sandwiches are made to order and they're fairly quick about it too. Also to note, the ladies behind the counter are super friendly too! Worth it if you're in a rush and even more worth it if you have the time to spare to enjoy the view!

Menu and a peak at some grub.

What a great little place. One of my favorite travel bloggers had mentioned it in a Tweet so I decided to hunt it down. It's a small shop, but the food was great. I got the sandwich with fig jam on it, and then just sat on the canal and soaked in a beautiful day in Amsterdam. They had fresh juices as well, but I didn't get a chance to try that. But the simple ingredient combination in my food- just so good!

Great sandwich place in Amsterdam. Not expensive. You can have them build your own sandwich. I like that!

My wife located this place and we met up with our daughter there after she dropped off her rented bike nearby. If you walk to the far end of the park from the Rijksmuseum and turn left at the street that borders the park there, the restaurant is about 2 blocks along there. You enter into a small waiting area and proceed between 2 counters. The best way I can describe the process is that it was like an ice cream shop in the U.S. They had glass displays showing what was available for meals - varieties of pasta, etc. You could select from those, or I think they had salads also. You place your order and then grab a table. A server will bring the food out when it is ready. Seating was a bit limited, so there could be a wait for a table. We arrived just before they got busy, though. They have about 5 or 6 small tables on the ground floor. If those are full, a fallback option is to ascend the spiral stairs up to a low-ceilinged loft. This is where we ate. The chairs here were fine but the tables were quite small - almost like a high coffee table. It wasn't hard to eat off these, just a bit different than usual. Also, if you are much over 6 feet tall, the ceilings will require caution. They can probably accommodate another 3 - 4 small parties up there. Everyone liked their food, which definitely had that 'prepared fresh' vibe. I got the pasta and had no trouble finishing it. I'd definitely consider eating here again were I back in the area.

Mostly semi Italian deli items. I had ravioli, stuffed mushroom, roasted veggies, rocket and generous parmigiana sprinkling. They have tables so we could eat there. Small place, hard working, cool looking deserts (skipped because we had stuff back at the hotel.). I think they may have had table service upstairs, call and ask if that's your requirement. Lovely neighborhood small deli.

Since we already had made plans to eat elsewhere, we made sure to come back before we left the city. It's only five minutes from my hotel anyways! Come to find out, the line wasn't as huge as it would seem. They were holding people outside because the inside was actually ridiculously warm. So they were holding people outside to minimize the amount of people inside. The wait was actually less than 10 minutes. The first thing I noted was...wow, everything is so cheap here! I'm sure that's a partially a function of them basically being cash only (no Visa, MasterCard, American Express accepted, so I don't know what would be accepted), but also because it's Amsterdam and everything is way cheaper here in general. Ordered the Cortona (€4.90), Calzone Margherita (€2.80), Pizza with Grilled Vegetables (€2.80), Ricotta Cannoli (€2.80), and a Large Classic Tiramisu (€2.80). Goes without saying that everything was fire. That Cortona sandwich was so well-made and tasty! If I was ordering something like this back in the U.S., it would easily be 3x the price. Staff here are super friendly! They keep the line churning real quickly despite the high demand. And despite how many orders they take in, they move very quickly. I have honestly no clue how I have never come here before considering the amount of times I have been to Amsterdam. It's definitely going to be one of those spots that I will keep coming back to, that's for sure.
