Ranch Chicken Burger!
Holly M.

We were passing through Cork for lunch during a road trip, and Yelp came to the rescue yet again with an excellent recommendation. I got the Ranch Chicken Burger, and it's not often I order a chicken burger because they are so often dry and disappointing, but this one was incredible. The chicken was juicy and moist, and so flavorful! The sauce and toppings were excellent, especially the sweet potato fries I got which were perfection, crispy and just the right amount of salt. Food service was so fast, which we were grateful for (we were starving). Their entire menu is so tempting, even plenty of sides like chorizo fries, all of which I'd love to try. We were glad to see they had covered outside seating because we were with our dog and it was raining and quite cold, but the staff were so friendly and helpful, they turned on the heater just for us and brought our dog some water. The inside looked beautiful and cozy and next time we are in Cork we will definitely stop by again (and hopefully sit indoors).

The burgers are a must! Excellent flavors in the meat and the chicken was very moist and not dry at all. Brisket nachos were a small portion, but so good.

Cool atmosphere, like a pub/restaurant. Very small craft beer selection. The wings appetizer was delicious, I actually liked the ribs the beef. Took FOREVER to get the burgers, but worth it. Blue Coq burger is fab, and get the Sweet Potato Fries.

Burgers were great, chips were crispy, atmosphere was relaxed. We had a lovely sunny day & were able to sit outside, which allowed us to enjoy the weather, but avoid the commotion of the Main Street.

Wowzers! Seeing great reviews about this place decided to give it a shot and we are so happy we did. It was packed when we arrived and were told there was a waiting time of 20-30 mins and asked if we wanted to wait upstairs at the bar. We went upstairs to another bustling bar with quite a few people waiting. However we got a seat at the bar and ordered cocktails. Before we knew it we were called and seated downstairs. We orderes the the original and the smokey with yam fires and filthy truffle fries. OMG it was amazballs. The burgers were melt in your mouth and the fries were delicious and full of flavour. The staff were really chatty and welcoming eventhough the place was packed and they were obvisouly very busy they still took the time to have a chat! We will be back most definatly!

I traveled all the way from Orange County, California to try the best food in Ireland, and Coqbull is it. But before we get to the food, let's talk about the venue, staff, and libations. Firstly, the venue is unique and beautifully decorated. I would describe it as modern urban meets rustic farmhouse. Very nice feel to it that is inviting, comfortable, and clean. See photos! The staff, much like the Irish people, is friendly and helpful. We asked for some recommendations and were given some excellent choices. More on the food later. Drinks are always an important part of the meal, and we were happy to see that Coqbull offers a selection of craft beer from Ireland, all of which sounded like excellent compliments to the food. We ended up with a porter and a blonde ale that were both great. We also ordered a cocktail that came in a pewter cup, it was fantastic - but mostly was ice. The food! My goodness, the food. Burgers, Ribs, and Mac n Cheese were our meal. All three were delicious. The rib was my favorite, and I wish I could tell you more about it, but I do know it was basted in a sweet glaze and had a beautifully flavorful layer of fat that, as an American, I have never seen on a rib. The burger we ordered was so mouthwateringly delicious, my mouth is getting excited just thinking about it. The beef patty was fresh, as were the all the ingredients, and most were locally sourced. When we got the Mac, we about had a mouthgasm. The cheese blend was perfect- creamy, stringy, and a beatiful aroma with just the right amount of browning from being baked in the oven. We left fully satisfied and very happy to have found Coqbull. I recommend that YOU find Coqbull, and experience it for yourself. ENJOY!

Not too keen or impressed to be honest... The burger was average, side portions are small and unfortunately overall overpriced!

Ok. Where do we start?! This place was effing delicious. After a long day, we wanted good food and…read morehad little expectations. Son of the Bun is modern and lively, the place was full when we arrived around 8pm. Our servers were all so nice and we loved their shirts that all had puns like, "Girls just want to have Bun", "Bun DMC", "Bun in a million". We ordered a the chicken and waffle burger, and the bbq onion rings burger. Both were absolutely amazing, mouth-watering good. We ordered the skinny fries on the side and asked for the chipotle mayo. Their local beer was Franciscan Red and I ordered a Pimm's (which is like a strawberry/orange sangria), both also delicious. The decor was also new and modern, and we really liked their music and energy overall. Unfortunately, we did not save room for dessert and hope to make it back someday. This was better than expected for a fancy burger place, but definitely worth a visit. The food was…read moregreat as was the service. They have a burger of the month/quarter which varies and could be fun to try. We also had a side chef/cobb salad which provided some small bit of health to our meal. They have a few craft beer selections but not extensive and sadly doesn't appear they change them.

Called in here with a friend for a hangover breakfast. Really good service. The coffee was…read moreterrible, and when we asked for tea as a replacement, the waitress was forward in asking our opinion as to what was wrong with the coffee. She apologised, gave us the tea for free, and took the info to the manager. Towards the end of the meal, he came out and apologised and explained the root cause of the issue, and said that it had been fixed. Good to see a complaint handled really well. The food was pretty good as well.

Great place for drinks!!! We popped in here not realizing it was cinco de mayo and they told us…read morethey had tacos as a special for the night. I knew better being American and loving actual tacos but I ordered them anyway. They were not bad but clearly not what I'd get back home in the states. All of the food was decent but not mind blowing. Others at my table had a burger, pizza and pasta. The staff was wonderful and the beer selection was great. They had beers I've never heard of so it was nice to try some different options. The atmosphere was pretty cool. They had bar stools on bicycle wheels with pedals and the lights were corsets. The water came in a bottle that said, "unfiltered unicorn tears." So overall it was a very cool place. I definitely recommend it if you want a drink and maybe a bite to eat if you aren't terribly picky about your food.
