Seasonal gin cocktails

They have amazing drinks, food, service, and ambiance. I had a friend visiting from Hawaii, who said this establishment was one of the highlights of their trip!

impromptu date with my bestie s and this was actually a place that she found that was near me so we finally went and checked it out. the chic retro/vintage decor was VERY instagram-worthy. do note that there's limited food choices but the amazing gin and drinks make up for it. we had ordered our first drinks - s had the crocodile g&t and i had the seasonal gimlet on the happy hour menu. we were wowed with our first sips and we decided to look at the spirits that were for sale. the lovely server - i didn't catch her name - gave us a small little tasting so we could decide on which gin we'd get. i walked off with a small bottle of the gin 005 - i have 6 opened bottles of gin so i had a 2nd drink - the provence g&t that was very light and there's a in-home kit for those that want to bring this drink home with them. for food, we had the baked brie and montego bay jamaican patties. s had a side of olives as well - not my thing but it's def hers the brie had a rum sauce that was on the bottom - it added a nice kick/spice in the dish. the jamaican patties were a surprise - they came in a pastry that reminded us of a samosa/empanadas. the pastry was flakey and i loved the gin chutney. all i can say is that i love how this is super close to where i live - at least i know where i can get my gin fix!

Absolutely love this place!! 5/5 stars for everything: gin, cocktails, environment, staff, location. This was my first time in Vancouver and one of the first places my family and I popped into to. They were actually closed at the time but they gave us a taste of their gin anyhow and it was amazing! So amazing that we wandered around going to some other places waiting for them to open so we could get the full experience. And it did not disappoint! There is a wide variety of drinks that were all very tasty! And the atmosphere is so fun and cool (but also not too loud which was great). We got to speak with one of the owners and he was so so lovely and told us so much great info. He also told us of a bunch of really exciting things that he has planned! This place will definitely be on my list next time I am up in Vancouver! To visit and also to get another bottle of gin!

What a wonderful experience! We arrived and we're greeted instantly. We were sat at a table close to the retractable door which made for a lovely experience on a summer day. I ended up ordering their weekly special and a French 75, and my partner ordered 2 martinis. The owner took our drink orders and was so incredibly amazing to chat with. The drinks themselves were so good and flavourful. They even offer you a little taste of the gin by itself upon arrival so you understand the flavour profile before ordering your drink. I can't wait to return and try the rest of their menu. Fantastic experience: fantastic drinks, fantastic decor, and fantastic customer service!

Wow! What a great place! We went here on the Easter Monday Brewery Crawl. Such a lovely place and fun, outgoing, friendly service. Their drinks were outstanding and we bought some gin to go home. Can't wait to go back.

We sat indoors with the option to be seated outdoors with heated lamps but we didn't want to smell the smoke from people smoking outside. We ordered the Dark Spell Latte, Albedo Spritz, and Final Word. The Dark Spell Latte is like an espresso martini with chocolate syrup added, which is pretty solid. The Albedo Spritz is a red wine cocktail with hard liquor, and stood out to me as they had 5oz of alcohol so this was fairly strong, but I would imagine most of the ounces came from the wine itself. I liked the gold dusted blackberry. The Final Word is fruity and smoky, which I enjoyed, but not warrant a hefty price tag compared to the other drinks. Service is decent and in line with other restaurant bars. Overall, solid drinks at okay prices that I can see myself recommending this spot. Given the name, it would be great to see more alchemy themed cocktails or decor as what draws me as a frequent bar goer is themed and unique drinks.

Caught up with a friend recently and we chose Parker Rooftop…read more The oysters were a definite improvement -- 95% shell-free, a huge step up from previous visits. We ordered earlier in the day, and the shucker was clearly alert, taking the extra steps to ensure a clean finish. Truffle fries were indulgent and perfectly crisp, though the garlic aioli was milder than I prefer -- almost like straight mayo without a punch. I skipped the sushi wrap, sticking to my traditionalist ways, but my friend enjoyed it. Brownie bites, complimentary as they were, were a disappointment. Lacking enough fat and possibly stored improperly, they tasted a bit stale -- a shame, because how does a brownie not taste good? Our server was attentive and charming, swooping in at just the right moments for round twos and top-offs, which made the experience that much smoother.

Gosh, we wanted to love this hotels food options so much after discovering the hotel itself…read morerecently. Sadly after visiting the rooftop twice for happy hour and once for dinner with an announced significant birthday number shared, and two breakfast's a three is all we can muster. It should be so much more, but the food lets down the entire experience. Our service was good, with delightful people helping our experience. That said service is slow, with details that should be spot on, not even evident. Water glasses left empty forever, promises made, not even brought up again. When the reservation was made a question was asked of an event for the dinner out. A 60th birthday was mentioned, acknowledged, and when sat by our server and nothing further. To be fair K would rather it all go by unannounced, but when it's all over the paperwork a small recognition should be there. The space itself, is not on a rooftop at all, but it's a beautiful high ceilings restaurant that deserves a far better kitchen. Our price fixe menu for two at $155 or so was definitely not worth the price at all. The steak was uniformly medium when med rare was the ask. There was a tiny bit of medium rare at one end, but the vast majority was medium or more. The torch of the butter on the steak, looked good from afar prior to our serving, but right in front of you looks almost comical. Our breakfasts were average at best, again service was ok, but the food was not where it should be, in fact not even close. We'd ponder staying at the hotel again due to location, but we'd not eat here.

I have been a long time fan of Sons of Vancouver's Chili Vodka (since 2017!) and this was my second time coming to their bar. We enjoyed excellent service-our bartender was wonderful, and she allowed us to try a couple of their spirits we hadn't the opportunity to try before. Their bathroom is also fun-they have chalk for the guests to write things on the wall. Their spirits are for sale, and you can get a free cocktail (from a limited selection on their menu) with a purchase of a bottle! Their glassware and menus are great too-they give second life to beautiful pieces of glass and old books. I wish more bars did this!!! I ordered two cocktails during my time here: Kentucky Heat-spicy and limy. This with the sliced cucumber was hot and refreshing at the same time. This is a solid choice for a spice lover. Pegu club-this was fruity and light. I loved the orange with the botanicals of the gin. It was a great follow up to the Kentucky Heat and for a gin base drink, it felt tropical. I love Sons of Vancouver. Their spirits are a go to in our home, and I love their added spirits since 2017. We walked away with a bottle of their Quadruple Sec and their Amaretto for our own cocktail crafting pleasure. Until next time, which cannot be soon enough.

Unfortunately while the whiskey produced here may be 5 star, the buying process and customer…read moreservice are about a 0. the issue I had during the recent whiskey release was not being late to the sale/missing it. I was in early, secured the bottle to my cart, filled out all information, opened the SMS payment confirmation code, went to put the final code in and was told the bottle that was in my cart was no longer there. All of this happened in less than 3 minutes, even Ticketmaster gives you more time to finalize the tickets that are already in your cart, so if you're purchasing practice is worse than Ticketmaster then you really have a problem. I reached out immediately to 2 different people to resolve the issue and was contacted 5 days later and told the following "The whisky sold out in 2 minutes flat and your bottle likely got poached seconds before the sale was completed. There's not much to be done to prevent what happened here unfortunately". So bottles that are in people's carts can be poached out of one's cart in less than 2 minutes, which is an insane and extremely poor business practice.
