Honestly, these are the best burgers in the area. I would put them against ANYONE in southeast MI. Every ingredient is very fresh. It's small so get there early if you want a seat on a Friday or Saturday night. The service is not always the fastest, but it's always genuine and friendly. I started going here about 6 months ago, and now I'm in at least every other week for a burger. The only problem with the mug is that I can't enjoy a burger anywhere else without comparing it. My husband and I went tonight ordered a pitcher and 2 burgers, with one order of fries...cost $22. the pitcher was $7, and fries $1. The burgers are worth it. The previous reviewers are a little unfair...it's a dive...what do you expect. Just left this place around an hour ago. When we walked in it was very busy and we sat down at an open table. It took 20+ minutes for the waitress to acknowledge that we were even there so my dad went to the bar to get our drinks and menus. After she came over she took our order (which took 20 minutes because she didn't know how to work the iPad). After waiting 40+ minutes we never received our appetizers and then our burgers came. Two of the burgers had missing items and my dad's burger never came and the waitress could care less. Then the owner came over and he said that the burger was coming any minute. 20 minutes later and we were done eating and my dad still was without his food. We let the waitress know and she told us she was busy. Then the owner said he would take the apps and my dad's burger off the bill, but after waiting longer it still never came. There was only one server and she had no idea what she was doing and was rude to the customers. The owner could care less, he could've been helping her take orders instead of hiding in the corner. He didn't discount our bill and watched us leave without saying anything. If you walk into this place and it's busy, just leave. read more

I love a dumpy little smokey hole in the wall bar. It's what I call a fine saturday night. Well The Copper Mug is not dumpy, but all the other things it is. It's a small little hole in the wall full of smoke and drunk middle aged people who provide some fantastic people watching (and listening). The beer is super cheap and it's within walking distance from my home, which is an obvious plus. They have an awesome jukebox with internet so you can play just about any song you could ever want to hear. I played Zepplin, Since I've Been Loving You, after a number of jager bombs and bud on tap. The bar food is great, and the small little kitchen area is very clean. if you're like me and tend to lean more towards the lesser known small bars over the giant dance bars featuring annoying, "been 21 for 2 hours" types then definitely give the copper mug a shot if you're ever spending a late evening in Walled Lake. read more

Big mistake I saw her take the spatchla and scrape the grease in the grease tray then without cleaning the spatchla she starting flipping burgers with it. We were so offended when we got our bill. add .50 cents to onion add .50 cents for tomato on your burger. Why not charge for a napkin,salt,pepper,straws,plastic ware etc? Let me start by saying that my husband and I love dive bars; The atmosphere, cheep booze, people watching. The whole 'experience'. With that in mind THIS PLACE IS A NIGHTMARE!! Terrible service. Unclean. Poor food. The man who appears to be some sort of manager/owner is currently ( literally as I type this) screaming profanities to the loud jukebox music which is an improvement from him screaming profanities regarding women's genitalia not 10 minutes ago. I truly can't make this up. We get our bill and its $77!! We got 4 margaritas ( Happy Cinco De Mayo) a burger and (frozen) chicken tenders. After talking to the waitress about how out of control the bill was (over $11.50 for 1 pre-mixed, well margarita) she took it upon herself to 'take care of us' and take $10 off the tab. All three tables around us left unhappy with their service/ food. One table even demanded their bill and got up and left. We asked the bar tender to run our Keno ticket before we left and she never returned with the ticket nor our winnings. With all the check chaos, we realized that we never collected our money. When we turned around in the parking lot to head back in, what can we say- were gluttons for punishment, we found that our bartender had left out the back to have a much deserved cigarette and left our money with the bartender. Needless to say we will not be back and won't be recommending this place to anyone. This place is certainly not worthy of DDD, as another reviewer wrote, more like Bar Rescue! read more

Small place, local dive bar....which is always my favorite place for a "burger"! This joint had a lot of good reviews, so decided to try it out. After waiting an hour (...and there were only 6 people in the place) for a burger and waffle fries, they finally arrived. It seemed the grill cook was more focused on his phone than on my "medium" burger. So, upon arrival to my table in the back...what do you know, it is a solid well done. Because I was on lunch and had limited time to spare, I decided it would be wiser to choke it down than to complain. This 1/3 pound burger (shrunk to 1/5 pound) was heavily lathered in thousand island, which further exacerbated this debacle! Well, on a positive note, the waffle fries were good and crispy. My server was attentive and nice (bonus point). I will give this a mulligan and come back again at a later date! Note to self (and others): Sit at the bar for quicker food service?!?
