When I arrived at CopperFox Tattoo Gallery, I came in with a certain expectation after previously doing some research on nearby tattoo shops. I wanted to have two services done, a nose piercing and the small tattoo I later came back for. The piercer was very nice and made me feel really comfortable. There was no reason for doubt which is what led me to believe that the same would apply with the tattoo artist (TT Cali). When I showed TT Cali the very simple cursive font that I wanted, he confidently told me he could do it. The tattoo I asked for was only five words that read "One day at a time". When I returned later that evening, he set a very unprofessional tone. It didn't seem like he was prepared for the appointment in many ways. Through the entirety of my session, I felt I was a bother due to his dismissiveness. Considering I was getting something permanent done to my body, as anyone would, I politely asked him to redo the sketch a few times in which he referred to as "scribbles". I was not satisfied with each result and I could tell this began to irritate him. I then tried showing him a reference picture of the specific font and style I wanted which he brushed off and didn't even want to look at... (I understand that some tattoo artists want their creative freedom, but he could've told me that before hand... I got NO warning) There were many things wrong with the tattoo TT Cali gave me. Overall it is extremely inconsistent. To start, the spacing between each word is different. There is a huge gap between the words "One" and "day" it seems something is missing. Then, the lettering varies differently throughout each word, they don't look the same. And to top it off? HE SPELLED THE LAST WORD WRONG. HE SPELLED "TINE" INSTEAD OF "TIME". When I finally came to this realization after spending a good amount of time looking over photos of my back, I decided to reach out to TT Cali about my concerns. After back and forth messages, it seemed the only thing he could offer me was a cover up tattoo. My first thought was, why would I want a cover up tattoo from the artist that messed me up in the first place? I finally came to the conclusion that I just wanted the tattoo removed because it was giving me so much anxiety. I eventually asked for my $80 refund which he ended up sending. All in all, the $76 that I received does NOT compensate for my experience nor the mental toll that it has taken on me. As a young woman, this has honestly ruined my outlook on getting any future tattoos. I hope that no one has to ever go through something like this with any tattoo artist. This tattoo was supposed to remind me of how to get through my anxiety. Instead, it only reminds me of my anxiety and causes my anxiety to be much worse. Knowing that this tattoo could potentially be on my body forever makes me very upset and anxious. I now have to pay over one thousand dollars out of pocket to get this tattoo removed. Overall, this experience was a HUGE inconvenience and I almost feel as though I should partially be at fault for having so much trust in the artist. But you live and you learn. read more
