My First Tattoo Experience at Sandbridge: I trusted the shop because it was a place my father trusted and Ashton Beebe because I knew his experience with creating the most beautiful surf boards. After seeing his incredible talent and knowing he is a genuine/stand up person that could be trusted, I had the pleasure of having him memorialize my father in a tattoo. I had lost my father unexpectedly and suddenly. Ashton was able to incorporate about 5 or 6 separate ideas that had substantial memories tied between my father and I. He did it so effortlessly. We wanted to make it simple and his choices definitely reflected that. It didn't look cluttered or too much. He added some whimsy that is very much our personalities and made it something that stood out as "me." I didn't want to change a thing when he showed it to me because it was exactly what I wanted. He is a fantastic listener and I felt ZERO pain when he was working on my collar bone. I trusted him with the design and color choices completely. It was more than I ever imagined. I will be forever grateful. Literally ^_^. I get to wake up every day and be proud showing off the navy warrior my father was and the courage he endured battling colon/urethra cancer. It reminds me that I'm still carrying that eternal love and support of my father every day of my life. I can't stop showing it off. I can't wait for my next one with him. I'd have him do my tats any day. Sitting in that chair is better than a day at the spa, so go see him. You won't be dissapointed. I've been going to Sandbridge tattoo since shortly after they opened and I've watched them grow from two artists to six (I think that's what they have currently anyway). All of their artists are award winning and, quite simply put, amazing! Upon entering the studio, you will notice Sandbridge Tattoo is not your average, old school parlor. You're not going to see walls full of flash. You're not going to see artists behind knee walls with clients who are exposed to any and everyone who walks in the door. Came here for my first tattoo, and couldn't be happier! Even though their schedule was pretty much full for the day, as I heard them saying on the phone right as we walked in - they only had two small windows available- I was able to walk in, say what I wanted done, email the art work, and have my tattoo artist, Stan, draw me up a sketch on the spot. I approved, he set everything up and gave me my quote, and everything proceeded very smoothly. Stan chatted with me and gave me the step by step before and after, and even though i normally have a huge fear of needles, i was about to stay calm, still and relaxed. My ink turned out beautiful and perfect, and Stan complimented me on my ability to stay still, and let me know he was so happy and was not expecting to do something "so cool" today! I recently had my second miscarriage in a row, so being able to walk in and have such a perfect experience was just that boost i needed, especially since my first tattoo had significant, resounding meaning to me. Everything happens for a reason! After being treated like we didn't really matter at a another popular local tattoo salon (and not getting out tattoos), my sister-in-law and I looked online and decided to call Sandbridge Tatoo. Although they didn't have any appointments open, we went in when they suggested and got in the waiting list que. Everyone in there was so professional, and paid a lot of attention to what you wanted. Stan came out and spoke to both of us, and gave us a timeline of when he would be done with his client. We went home and waited until that time. And boy was it worth the wait! He captured exactly what we each wanted, while having easy conversation as he worked. Each artist has their own room, kind of like a dental office - not closed off, but certainly private. He also spoke to my stepdaughter, who made an appointment later to come in for her first tattoo. No way I will ever consider going back to that "other" place, or anywhere else. I tragically lost my brother in January, and for months I had this vision of how I would like to honor him and my faith. Even though this was my first tattoo, I decided on a full memorial sleeve. From the minute I walked in the door I was taken seriously. I was treated like family and even had a great conversation with Jada & Tommy about my brother. Something that should feel so incredibly intimidating instantly turned into comfort and I knew I chose the right place. The shop is extremely clean & the staff couldn't have been more welcoming. I chose Garland, and man did I choose right. His enthusiasm, creativity, and emotion give me every bit of confidence that this memorial sleeve is being done right. I've been to several shops for several tattoos and never had a bad experience. But Sandbridge is a notch ahead. It doesn't look or feel like your average tattoo shop. Clean, well light, nice decor, very friendly and helpful staff. Far and away the best shop I've been too. Of course none of that matters if there aren't good artists. I worked with Tommy, I had to book 7-8 months out but it was well worth the wait! Most of the artists there don't have much of a wait to get in, and their work looks great. They seem to be pretty picky on who they let work there, which is a good thing. Every piece I saw was very well done by every artist. I will definitely be back for my next piece. I hope to work with Tommy again, but I wouldn't hesitant to get work done by anyone here. read more

Beautiful shop and very friendly staff. I met with Mitchell B to talk about what I wanted. I am a breast cancer survivor and decided on a lotus flower to represent my journey. I felt Mitchell really understood what I was looking for. I got my tattoo yesterday and absolutely LOVE it!! Mitchell did an amazing job and made me feel very comfortable during the session. This is my favorite tattoo and I seriously cannot take my eyes off of it. The lotus flower looks exactly how I pictured it would. I have already had three people ask me where I went and who did my tattoo. My tattoo was a memorial piece for loved ones who had taken their lives, and for that reason I was very anxious, nervous, and scared when I started looking at tattoo artists in this area. I read about Sandbridge Tattoo through a FB post, and immediately fell in love with all of the artists. I was so lucky to book with Randy. The four hours I was in the chair getting tattooed were comfortable, and he was a delight to chat with. My tattoo is everything I had imagined and more, and I will absolutely be back to get another tattoo from Randy. Went in as a walk in but unfortunately no artist were available. They were however able to get me in the next morning. Was very happy about that. It has been a couple of weeks since my appointment and I couldn't be happier with my tattoo. I asked for a realistic tattoo of the Neptune statue from Virginia Beach. I got scheduled with Ashton and he did an amazing job. On top of the awesome work the rest of the staff I had the pleasure to meet were all great. Everybody was incredibly friendly. The shop is very clean and the artists have personal rooms which makes it more private. I will definitely be back and try to schedule with Ashton again next time I'm in the area on vacation. read more

Extremely positive experience! Jada, part of the front office staff, is so warm and friendly. Any questions I had she was more than happy to answer. My tattoo was expertly done by Mitch Baer. He is a phenomenal artist and so creative. I had provided several reference pictures of tattoos I had liked but wanted to blend a few ideas together. I am in no way creative but Mitch handled everything down to the tiniest detail with amazing skill and designed a perfect tattoo that is a one of a kind made just for me. Garland Harris did an amazing job on my tattoo, I spoke with him about my idea, showed him some reference photos and the piece he created for me was more than I could have imagined. I absolutely love Sandbridge tattoo. I had originally planned to go elsewhere because a friend of mine swore by the place. I got there and it rubbed me the wrong way, so I started to look elsewhere. We stumbled upon Sandbridge and I am so glad for it. Its comfortable, clean, and the staff is super sweet and welcoming. It was my first tattoo and Mitch made the entire process much more easy and relaxed than I had anticipated. This is a horse of a different color. I'm ever way my sessions here exceeded my expectations. First, when trying to book a project with two other well known local shops, Sandbridge was the only one to get back to me. The shop itself is unlike any other tattoo shop I've been in. The vibe is more like a medical facility. Private rooms for each artist mean you won't be exposed or bothered to others. Each artist is unique and has their own specialty. I loved how comfortable the atmosphere was the second you walked in. The front desk staff and owner greeted us and were able to pencil my mom and I for an appointment today. Our artist was Stan and he was great. We gave him our thoughts and ideas and he was able to design exactly what we wanted! For me this was my first tattoo and I'm so glad I chose Sandbridge Tattoo. Ashton Beebe took the general idea of what tattoo I wanted and came back with multiple designs that I loved so much, it was hard to pick one. I love the result and he is now working on my next couple tattoos. I am a novice when it comes to getting tattooed (and not fond of needles tbh) but Ashton communicated very well and made me feel comfortable.
