I did a walk in on Saturday to get a traditional style tattoo of a dagger going through a rose. Connor ended up being the artist who was able to draw up the design and tattoo me. He did an incredible job! It was even better than the reference picture and the shading on it blew me away! The vibes here were great as well. I would definitely recommend coming to Rocksteady for a quality tattoo. read more

Who tf calls Beth Stratton a "crazy eye'd broad"?? Gross. My first 30 seconds of being in the shop an artist blurts that out while doing someone else's tattoo. That's lame and loser speak. read more

Got my tat done here today and had a great experience!! I arrived just after opening and was able to get this done as a walk in. Tim was my guy, and he was super helpful and fixed a few issues I had with my design, and he did an awesome job!! I really wanted to make sure this was symmetrical and centered well, and he exceeded my expectations. He also made sure to use a super fine point tip, which is an even better look than I hoped. The studio was very chill and had a cool vibe, and Tim really made me feel at ease and relaxed about the whole process. He is a pro, and if you need any sort of outlined style this is your place. The view of the ocean out the front window doesn't hurt, either. read more

I walked in inquiring a small tattoo to which I was creating conversation asking questions about some of the patchwork Tattoos that they had drawn up. To which I had mentioned that I had recently I had started tattooing on myself to which they started bashing me about "Not doing it correctly, and that I was being disrespectful by coming in and asking questions about tattooing... and As far as how long they have been in the game and such to which they replied that they do this "Is a Job and that we dont scar ourselves up with crappy things we are going to regret" Never once Did I say that I regret any of my Art on my body and or that I had harmed my body while tattooing , I do not recommend going to the Tattoo Parlor because they are extremely unprofessional and create a bad image of the Tattoo community. Blue Horse Tattoo shop is where I get My artwork when im in the 757 they have great art and great artist that welcome people trying to get to learn more about tattooing even if it is just so they can do it on themselves! read more

Once again, Silas Baker kills it! He is the all-time Tatty-Blast Master! This time it wasn't me getting Zippity-Zapped, but I was there for support of a friend. I have been going here since I was about 18.5 years old for tattoos (Well over 5 years) and have been more than pleased each and every time. I have a full sleeve done by Silas Baker (piece by piece over approximately a 3 year span). My friend had a 2PM appointment. When we arrived he was blown away with the design Silas came up with. He got a Medusa piece with a flower and sword. The piece is Traditional Style with a more lenient color palate. The ambiance and decor inside Silas' room is extremely chill. He has a room filled with art and cool trinkets. He plays relaxing music the entire time and always carries on good conversation. I don't know if I'll ever go to anyone else for tattoos besides Silas ever again. I'm just always extremely pleased with the results. He killed it again this time for my friend! Thanks RockSteady. read more

walked in to browse the portfolio and get recommendations on an artist. I made an appointment to get the sample tattoo done on my arm but they didn't get back to me. I went in and I also told the person working the front desk that I call and try to make an appointment and she's was like yeah, I was going to get back to you it was 2 days later mind you. And the only reason I was trying to get it done over there was it was close to me and it was a simple Roman numerical tattoo, I went in on the walk in day she told me they were busy with appointments and that she would call me and till this day I still haven't heard from that lady. Good thing I went to independence tattoo and an artist by the name of John help me out . read more

I went in today (05/26/2022) as a walk in for a very small, simple line work tattoo. Mike took me immediately and had my exact idea printed out and ready to go! I then sat down, got the tattoo, and was out the door within 30 minutes of arriving. Hands down the friendliest people, cleanest shop, and best customer service I have ever received. My tattoo is also so beautiful and exactly what I wanted. I will definitely be returning to Mike when I am ready to get some bigger pieces done!! read more

A friend of mine and I were looking to get tattoos and shopped around the area. We ended up deciding on Rocksteady because when we went in we liked the atmosphere and the staff was extremely friendly. I showed them what we wanted and got a quote around the price I was looking for. The next day we went back and I got Shelly to take care of my tattoo. She was really amazing. She redrew it with a bit of a style flair I liked and suggested some modifications that we talked about and agreed on. She was really friendly and professional during the tattooing. It ended up looking great! I'm overall very pleased and will definitely end up coming back to Shelly for touch ups or new art. read more

I cannot say enough about Jesse and Rocksteady. I entrusted them with my largest, most intricate piece yet. After browsing artist portfolios and talking to the staff I consulted with Jesse. I had a few examples that I liked but none were totally what I wanted. Between our consult and the examples Jesse somehow designed the tattoo that I dreamed of but couldn't quite articulate. Over our 2 sessions I was incredibly impressed with Jesse (and the shop as a whole) with cleanliness, professionalism and just down-right making you feel comfortable. Each session with Jesse shocked me due to how quick it was for the quality of work. I'm so impressed with my piece from start to finish and I'm definitely bragging to all my friends that I have a 100% custom piece by such a great artist. I can't wait to entrust my body to Rocksteady and Jesse again! read more

I checked out Rocksteady on 1st View. Talked with Mike he was okay, good ideas, but no time. He recommended "Joey" to help me, Mike said he may have time this Saturday or the following Wednesday (May 12). Joey comes out, tells me pretty much the complete OPPOSITE of what Mike and I had discussed and then proceeds to tell me he didn't have any openings until JULY 6th!!! I left, won't go back, very bad vibe. Too bad for the artist that really want customers and the shop. So if you decide to go, see Mike. 4 Stars for Mike and zero for Joey. Bad Vibe from the second I walked in. read more

Rocksteady and Jared especially is the BEST place in Northern Colorado for piercings and tattoos, and is honestly better than the high end places I've been in Denver. Excellent service and outstanding craftsmanship!! I will return for more work in the future.

An appointment today with Jesse. Extremely clean facility great artist. Would definitely recommend this tattoo shop to anyone.

Went in a few weeks ago, as a walk-in, and got both my nipples pierced. We were greeted promptly and with excellent customer service. The girl that did my piercings, Shelly, was polite and very professional. She definitely knew what she was doing. She explained to me step by step, gave great aftercare instructions and we were in and out in 30 minutes or less. I will go back there for a new tattoo soon, and highly recommend them for piercings as well. I am very pleased with my experience and the affordability of the services there. read more

I had a walk-in helix piercing as well as both lobes repierced. Cail was my piercer and did a perfect job with placement, great technique (no pain!) and hygiene, and a great job explaining procedures and aftercare. Went for a spur of the moment matching tattoo with my best friend, ON MEMORIAL DAY, and received the best customer service! The night before we got a bad taste in our mouths for a competitor that was too worried about leaving for the day to care what we wanted. My friend has gotten two tattoos there so far and I'm in love with both. Very open and clean. Highly recommended

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. I went in about a month ago and got a forward helix ear piercing from Jared. Last night, I brushed my hand on my ear and felt something crusty, which I thought was odd since it's been healed for awhile and hasn't had any crust in weeks. So I went to get a Q-tip and the piercing aftercare to clean it up, and the crusty part came off, but so did the piercing - turns out the crusty part was the piece of my ear holding the piercing into place. So I am now not only missing the piercing but a chunk out of my ear as well. I contacted Jared to tell him about this, and his only response was " ouch, I'm sorry that had to not feel great." (no duh) So then he offered to re-pierce me for free (because the first one was so impressive?). I responded that I would really rather a refund. His response was this: "we do not offer refunds. on the consent form you signed it says that understand the inherent risks associated with piercings and this is one of those risks. So if you'd like Id love to get you re-pierced when it's healed and if not I apologize there's nothing else I can do for you." I've had my fair share of piercings, and despite Jared's comments I fully understand the form I read. I'm a law student and know what rights I signed away. Losing a piece of my ear and become forever deformed is NOT a usual inherent risk of piercing, nor something I signed my rights away on. It was not infected, my ear did not reject it, and I kept it clean as I was supposed to. It was just a bad piercing. I assumed as an "artist" he would recognize this and have more respect for his reputation, and all I was asking for was my money back (though it looks like I should take it to small claims court and ask for the piece of my ear back instead). Not only did he negligently pierce me, but he was rude and couldn't even acknowledge he did a bad job. Terrible piercing, worse customer service. read more

I got a tattoo here a few months ago was totally fucking ripped off 200 dollars for a small simple black n white seashell I didn't get to talk to the artist before hand one of the lines is definitely shaky and they literally didn't have cash to give me change so that was just plain annoying and besides all that I decided to come back give it another try a few weeks ago and maybe see if I could talk to a different artist this time around and came in early afternoon to see if they had time for a walk in the shop was empty but he said they were super busy and he'd take my name and number down for a simple small traditional butterfly tattoo that would "definitely need to have less detail" basically the guy at the front desk seemed like an asshole and like he didn't want to be there I never got a call that night or the next to see if I wanted to make an appointment at a later date as someone who's active duty military I always talk to new people who get stationed here and are looking for a new shop to get fresh work done at and trust me this will be a place I steer people away from read more
