Just a preface, I was vegan for almost three years and enjoyed eating that kind of food. I had been to Copper Branch in Montreal around two years ago and I remember being underwhelmed with the food I had ordered then.
Since it came to Dieppe, I was super excited to try it again. However, my excitement was not met. I ordered the Copper Beet Burger with a side of Copper Cubes Poutine. My first thoughts were, "Hmm, this burger is extremely tiny," but that didn't bother me much. What bothered me was the taste of the burger. I am not a picky eater, by all means, I love food. But that burger tasted like you had just sprayed a cleaning agent into your mouth. There was no hint of beet or anything other than that god awful taste. I could only eat two bites of it before I stopped myself.
The poutine was a little bit better, it was edible, but not great. The potato cubes were still hard and crunchy with barely any flavouring on them. And they were just smothered in a spicy (not hot) gravy. Super disappointed.
This place is definitely not worth the price for the quality of food you get. I went with two other people and they didn't enjoy their meals either and the three of us are healthy eaters!!
I mentioned to one of the workers that I didn't like my food and she gave me a refund. What was odd though was she asked me, "Did you expect your burger to taste like beet?" Kind of since it's a "beet" burger.
Anyway, try this place with a grain of salt. I want to give it one more go, but I'm a little apprehensive now.
