I was told about it by a local who said "it's where the cool kids go" for coffee and to hang out. I figured it would be a dive of a coffee shop and not much else, but of course I was wrong. Instead it is an impressive French-themed café frequented by a thorough cross-section of both locals and tourists, going by my people-watching experiences there. The outside looks unimpressive, with a good-size parking lot, and then a partially covered patio along the front of the café where patrons can sit outside and enjoy the day while sipping their latte or eating one of their fantastic orders of food. Inside there are two rooms. Directly in front of you as you enter the place is the order counter and room to hang out as you wait for your takeaway coffee, with a few tables there as well. To the left is a large room with many tables and out of the way of the hubbub of the order counter and takeout customers. In between is a little kiosk for dropping off your dirty dishes. I had breakfast there twice, and both times I was absolutely satisfied with my impressive meal and coffees. Their signature dish is a bagel with toppings like ham, egg and smoked salmon with veg and vegan options. The presentation is top-notch with greens adorning the dish like it was some kind of a work-of-art. Gorgeous AND Delicious! The menu is simple and posted on the wall beside the order counter. I enjoyed myself there so much! Great place to people-watch with the variety of patrons, everything from business people, to people driving holiday exploration vehicles to students and laptop hounds. This is THE place to go in the area that I was in, which was not in the downtown strip, and instead was in their typical big box alley. Highly recommended!!

And they both make an awesome small sized frothy cappucino. Just a preface, I was vegan for almost three years and enjoyed eating that kind of food. I had been…read moreto Copper Branch in Montreal around two years ago and I remember being underwhelmed with the food I had ordered then. Since it came to Dieppe, I was super excited to try it again. However, my excitement was not met. I ordered the Copper Beet Burger with a side of Copper Cubes Poutine. My first thoughts were, "Hmm, this burger is extremely tiny," but that didn't bother me much. What bothered me was the taste of the burger. I am not a picky eater, by all means, I love food. But that burger tasted like you had just sprayed a cleaning agent into your mouth. There was no hint of beet or anything other than that god awful taste. I could only eat two bites of it before I stopped myself. The poutine was a little bit better, it was edible, but not great. The potato cubes were still hard and crunchy with barely any flavouring on them. And they were just smothered in a spicy (not hot) gravy. Super disappointed. This place is definitely not worth the price for the quality of food you get. I went with two other people and they didn't enjoy their meals either and the three of us are healthy eaters!! I mentioned to one of the workers that I didn't like my food and she gave me a refund. What was odd though was she asked me, "Did you expect your burger to taste like beet?" Kind of since it's a "beet" burger. Anyway, try this place with a grain of salt. I want to give it one more go, but I'm a little apprehensive now. p.s - I have never returned my food for a refund or have written a review before, but I feel like my experience should be known!

So, tonight, I went in there feeling very excited, because we now have a place that has both vegan and gluten-free options. I ordered two burgers, one black bean and one beet on gluten-free bread, and a salad, only to learn at supper time, that they were out of both gluten-free buns and gluten-free bread. So, I began ordering something else, but was told that I could get a collard green leaf wrap instead of the bun. I thought, Well then, that's great! I paid for my meal and waited for it to come up at the pick-up counter. It wasn't until I brought my food to the table f that I realized that I'd been charged extra for the collard green leaves. Not only were my burgers not reduced in price due to having no bread, but I was charged an extra $1.30 per leaf, without being told that this would happen. I felt so ripped off that I couldn't enjoy my supper. I didn't see anyone working that looked like a manager, so I went home disappointed that I'd paid 30 dollars for such little food.

I really like the Moncton Market. Located downtown, it has both outdoor and indoor vendors and…read moreseveral entrances. When we arrived it was extremely crowded, so for someone with social anxiety it was a bit stressful but I'm sure there are times that are not quite as busy which would make it easier. I noticed a lot of unique vendors and questioned a few about vegan options. Besides local produce and craftwares there wasn't a lot of vegan options but I did find a vendor "Red Earth Kitchen" that does gorgeous looking vegan desserts. As well, the area that we first came in seems to have some permanent food vendors. One had veggie springrolls and others had falafel and other middle eastern food that would be vegan. Another vendor from Sackville had some chocolates that were vegan safe and a gentleman selling cupcakes said he normally has vegan cupcakes first thing in the day but they sell out quickly. All and all I think it's an awesome farmer's market and I'd definitely like to visit again.

Whether you're on the hunt for cheese, fish, meat, fowl, baked goods, handcrafts or almost any other thing you can think of - the Moncton Market has it for you. Stop by Wright's Country Bakery for a cinnamon roll - worth the line up! Grab a coffee from Down East Coffee. If you're in a more substantial mood, you have options galore. La Crêperie Robinson tempts you with delectable fillings for crêpes, and Shangrilla provides a heartier fare. (Tip: Shangrilla, along with a few other vendors, also set-up for the lunch-time crowd Wednesday to Friday.) Browse through the crafts and artwork. In season, plants are plentiful and produce abounds. Check out the flower vendors for some truly amazing deals on cut flowers. Because I don't live in Moncton, my visits to the Market are rare. When we visit family, it's a must-see on Saturday mornings. I don't think I'll ever get tired of going to the Market!
