During the day this mall is bustling with folks young and old. The predominent younger crowd here sports names like Gucci, Prada, Armani and the like. During my younger days I used to come here often to shop and be seen. After realizing there is more to fashion than the 500 dollar purse I simply stopped. Impressive, multi-level indoor mall and in the heart of the financial district. I think it's the home of the only Barney's in town. The floors are shiny and the shops are spacious and new looking. It looks bigger than it actually is - there are only 75 stores and limited food options. But it's got Neiman Marcus, Gucci, Wolford, Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton and Jimmy Choo. It's definitely nicer than the Prudential Center. read more

Since I work PT at a store in Copley Place, I'm not going to chat about how fantastic my store is, or give you a list of the stores I like. Instead I'll just share some practical tips with you. 1) New Hours: as of 4/13/09 the mall closes at 8:00pm during the week (previously 9:00) 2) You can park your motorcycle/scooter for free on the sidewalk near the Huntington Ave Copley Place Parking Garage. 3) Stores will validate Copley Place Parking, not Prudential parking. 4) You can access Copley Place via tunnel from Back Bay T Platform - very nice in the winter. 5) Food is limited, as I'm not a big fan of ABP. Other options are the Starbucks in the Marriott or in the Westin, or Legal Seafood. I actually prefer the one in Copley to the one in the Pru - less tourists. 6) If you are looking to get some serious shopping done, visit on a weeknight. The mall is dead and you will get plenty of attention from the store employees. 7) Don't buy anything that's not on sale! Retailers are hurting right now, and they are practically giving stuff away. If something you want is not on sale today, it will be next week! Or just ask if they have any discounts or coupons available, but... 8) DO NOT open a store credit card to save 10 bucks on a pair of jeans! It may seem like a good idea at the time, but it will ultimately hurt your credit - its just not worth it. Especially in these difficult economic times, your credit score may be all you have to hang your hat on. That being said - get out there and stimulate the economy - happy shopping! read more

A soulless luxury shopping mall resembling something you'd find in Dubai or SIngapore and thoroughly cleansed of anything specific to Boston or New England. CP is a temple to excess and glittery bad taste frequented by foreigners cashing-in on the declining dollar and confused tourists looking for a bathroom break from the Freedom Trail. Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Bally, Barneys are only a few of a long list of high-end global brands lining the surprisingly empty concourses of this luxe "branditorum." To keep riff-raff out, seating is almost non-existent and the public bathrooms, though well maintained, are hidden and unmarked. For the record, there used to be a movie theater, international news stand and Rizzoli's bookstore here. Now: all are gone. read more

If you have a few 0000's to spend this this is your candyland. A very upscale mall in the city center that goes from the Westin Copley Place to the Prudential center and is connected to the Marriott Copely place also. No food court present but there is Starbucks and Au Bon pain near the Westin plus Legal Sea foods. Definitely haute couture and high end shopping for the 1% or those who aspire to the 1%. It serves as a good escape route in a rain or snowstorm as you can connect to the Back Bay MBTA station under Dartmouth St. Lots of downtown pedestrian traffic in the morning and night as people use it to scurry to and from work. If high end shopping is your game go visit here. read more

Despite the ugly architecture of the building, Copley is an awesome place for indoor shopping. I've spent A LOT of time here, and have always had a great time! I thought they were going down hill after the Westfield buyout (I think it was westfield), but they've added a lot of great stores! Notable places include: Neiman Marcus, Thomas Pink, Karen Millen (great UK designer, very hip), Barney's, Jimmy Choo, Dior, Ralph Lauren, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany (hate Tiffany, but thought it was worth mentioning), Mont Blanc, Swarovski and Crabtree & Evelyn. Grettacole Salon is awesome too! Can't find what you're looking for? Go through the connecting bridge to Prudential. You're likely to find it there! read more

I like this mall mostly because it was connected to the hotel I was staying in. Plus the skywalk is way better than crossing the street to Shaw's. Upscale mall aka mall with no food court. Typical upscale mall stores (Tiffany's, Saks, Barney's). This mall is usually not packed due to the price range. It's sort of connected to the mid-level mall Prudential Center. I really don't know what else to say about this mall. It's cute, perfect location and one of the best places to shop at in Boston besides Newbury street. read more

If you like to shop, Boston is your city. Copley Place has more of the upscale stores like Coach and Tiffany's, but also the Gap and Express, so there is something for everyone. There are also restaurants like Legal Sea Foods (yes, this one is in walking distance from the one at the Prudential Center...imagine that) and Au Bon Pain. For more food and shopping options, walk through the sky way to the Prudential Center. It's a shopping mecca! read more

Very reminiscent of all the nicest stores in King of Prussia in Philly: super quality and stylish stuff but wayy out of my price range. The fountain at the entrance to to mall is very serene and pretty and with names like Stuart Weitzman and Versace, this is a place that I would enjoy visiting when I have a real job and make real money. read more

I prefer Copley to Prudential any day. It always seems more empty and a lot less frenzied. The nice thing about Copley is that you have your big luxury stores- LV, Barney's, Dior as well as your traditional mall stores- Gap, Express, VS. It is lacking in terms of restaurants, (although, if you are intending on going to Legal for dinner and the one in the Prudential has a long wait pop over here, its usually shorter and it's a more intimate setting.) With the two department stores flanking a series of great smaller specialty shops you really can't go wrong. Oh, and I love the cheap garage parking. read more

The only reason I love this mall is that it basically offers me a completely covered route to the Pour House. It's full of overpriced wares and people who walk too slow, and once a suit shoved me when I walked through the doors and I ended up breaking my pinky. I mean, I shop at Kohl's, okay? This is not the mall for me. That said, it's a nice looking mall, and there is something to be said for the fact that I saw two homeless men making love in this mall. I mean, it freaked out my boyfriend, but I had a pretty good laugh over it. It's not everyday you get to gaze into the complicated love lives of Boston's homeless. It's like Melrose Place, but with less bathing. read more

If there were any Boston celebrities who actually lived here, this is where the paparazzi would stalk them. Complete with a modern art fountain, marble floors and all of the designers from the glossy magazines, it's best to leave your wallet at home and stick to window shopping. read more

This store is super chic and nice, but sometimes it can get too busy and it can be hard to find someone to help you. I usually work with Marina and she is awesome. Always helpful and willing to find items from other stores. If you are serious about shopping and want immediate help, I highly recommend asking for her! read more

Huge shopping center within 1 of the biggest buildings in Boston, connected to the convention center. Super neat place with all kinds of neat retailers and also some nice restaurants. Highly recommend a stroll through this place if you are in downtown Boston, kind of a landmark area/building. read more

Yay for Copley! I do love to wander here, or stumble through with Natasha depending on the occasion. Obviously the usual culprits can be found here (designer stores, etc) and connects to the Pru, of course. My favorite thing here? That would be Legal Seafoods. Drool. read more

Not sure why you'd come here to shop. Filled with empty high end stores and broken escalators (literally always broken). Probably a real hit in the early 90s - wouldn't waste your time here. read more

Spent 3 nights on business and had planned in advance to stay one additional night on vacation. Beautiful old hotel. Logan Express shuttles you from the airport for $5 and drops you off right across the street. The hotel staff is excellent and the Concierge extremely helpful. The first night we arrived late and went to the bar because we were told they were still serving good. We sat for a long time but could not get waited on so we left and went to bed hungry since all the restaurants in Boston had closed for the evening. Room serve was extremely expensive so we decided to pass on that. We found a great restaurant for breakfast a few blocks away that was recommended by the Concierge. When you pay over $400 a night I expect the room to be meticulous. The shutters in the ladies room looked as though they have never been cleaned. The vanity in our bathroom has lots of chipped paint and the soap dish was badly chipped...actually it was broken and needed to be replaced. The air conditioner was noisy and the mattress needed to be replaced. I would not recommend this hotel and will not stay there again. Their resident dog, however, was awesome. read more

This mall is a high end shopping experience. So I was surprised and disgusted when I used the restroom. A mall that charges 600 for a purse should have a restroom that doesn't knock you over with urine smell when you open the door. A nice area in Boston, There are some great restaurants and 2 shopping malls (Copley Mall and The Pudential Mall). This is all 3-4 blocks away from newbury street and a couple blocks from the boston gardens. If you have a free weekend go check the area out. read more

I love going here! People here are friendly and there is always something going on by the big marble wall fountain thing. My mom and grandma go here to buy their bags, while I go around and get stuff for myself. I also got to sign up for the bone marrow registry here and its been something I have been meaning to do. The blue haired lady =) she helped me out with filling out the stuff and she is really nice, pretty too. I like this mall because it looks like something out of a movie. I like the way its set up and love the fountain there. Most of the stores here are very expensive so I must say I don't really shop here. Its a great place to people watch. The Legal Seafood here is the best one that I know of. Copley Place is high-end in my book. The mall itself looks like something from Vegas. There are few stores I like, like Williams-Sonoma and the Sony Style store. Other than that it's just another place to windowshop and wonder where the money comes from to buy the stuff in these stores. read more

When I visited this mall on one particular occassion in Spring 2009, my boyfriend and I sat on one of the marble benches in front of the Dior store. This elderly, pot bellied, white mustached mall cop tried to pick a fight with us. He told me to sit up properly that I was not at home. He then came around less than two minutes later and told us to leave the mall. We were very shocked as we were not doing anything to merit this attitude or this scolding. We were literally just sitting there, regularly dressed, there was no PDA or loud talking, we were merely relaxing as we had just gotten off a train at Back Bay. My boyfriend, a classical composer at the New England Conservatory, and myself, a neuroscience major at Brown University, tried our hardest to not argue with this man who clearly had something against us. We walked away as this guy was clearly having a bad day. Everytime I walk through this mall I see how the mall cops treat other patrons of this mall. I don't understand why we received this terrible treatment and why others (such as homeless who sit near the escalators) don't get hassled as we did. It just does not make any sense. I honestly hope that this elderly cop was fired as he clearly had anger issues and took them out on patrons of the mall. Aside from this, I have enjoyed shopping at the Louis Vuitton store - it is just divine. The Salvatore Ferragamo store has great service too. It's a lovely mall, very nice decor, just be wary of the hassling cops. Also, don't let your kids get too close to the fountain as the cops don't like this... I give it 4 stars because whenever I need something elegant, this is my go-to place. read more
