The fire alarm's LED is so bright it shines a spotlight on the bed and casts enough light to cause shadows and keep you awake. If you go here, check the fan to make sure you get a quiet one, bring a piece of tape to cover the light on the fire alarm, and fix the shower curtain by untwisting it and reseat the blackout blinds so you can have a dark room.

I've become familiar with the hotel floor plan and I believe room 300 to be the most desirable room and I will list the reasons. Room 300 is the best because ... 1) it's on the top floor 2) it's not an adjoining room 3) there two beds in the room 4) it's a corner room 5) it has a full size fridge 6) the room is slightly larger then the others 7) it's furthest from elevator so it's quieter 8) it's right next to hallway trash/ recycle can 9) it faces parking lot yet still super quiet 10) it has black out curtains 11) has a recliner chair as well as a desk 12) has a stove to cook on 13) has adequate cookware plates utensils 14) laundry machine is FREE! There was plenty of free parking. It's only about a 10 minute drive to the grocery store ( Fred Meyer ) It has quick and easy access to I-5. So I found this Candlewood Suites Burlington on my hotels.com app and decided to book a night to stay here. This hotel was surprisingly very affordable for a Saturday evening with only being $129 (prior to tax) and offers quite a spacious room with a king size bed. The pet fee was only $20 and we were very happy to have found out that they offer complementary dryer and washer for use (you just have to use your own detergent and dryer sheets). This was very helpful, as we ended up doing a load in the washer and then divided our load into 2 dryers (since no one was using them and it is faster to dry jeans this way from your other clothes). There are 3 washers to use and 4 dryers available. We checked in around 6:15 pm by a friendly employee. She gave us our keys and then we unloaded our car (they have luggage dollies at the front) and headed to our room, which was on the first floor. We had a kitchen and a full size fridge and microwave in our room, a fairly good size bathroom with plenty of counter space (I always dislike when bathrooms have so little counter space), Dove brand bath products, Dove soap bar, TV and desk that I was able to set up my laptop. The WiFi was fast and very happy that it never dropped while I was taking a test to earn a certification in my profession (I only had one attempt and so I was little nervous wondering if I would get dropped but I never did. Oh and I did pass for anyone that is wondering). Although there is no breakfast provided, you do have a kitchen in your room that you can use, which we did. So that wasn't a problem for us. Now one thing I do want to mention is that the walls between rooms are thin, as I heard neighbors around us. Also there is a train that seems to run at all hours of the day and evening, as I heard them throughout the evening. I am a pretty light sleeper so I didn't sleep that well but my husband (who is a heaver sleeper) was just fine. I have stayed at a bed and breakfast in Texas where there was a train nearby and that train was incredibly loud. This train wasn't nearly as loud but do want to mention this for those that may find this to be a problem. Because of the train and the thin walls, I am a bit indifferent and not sure if I would stay here again. But to us, there does seem to be more pros than cons. Overall, I would still rate this hotel 4 stars.

The General Manager at that time was Karen, she always greeted us with a warm smile, remembering small details of prior conversations and just truly made sure we felt at home, had a great room at the hotel and whether we were hosting the event or coming as a guest, she was always there with her staff and made sure everything ran smoothly and according to plan. We have recently moved back to the area and honestly can't wait to go visit her and her staff. I would recommend this place a thousand times over. Karen worked with our budget , at first quite small, but she delivered an amazing experience for everyone.

The new contact for sales was lazy and did not have very good customer service skills. They ARE in the middle of renovation. There are multiple fire code violations, still painting the walls, restrooms not kept to the point the trash was over flowing, sticky floors, no toilet paper or hand towels and soap. When we arrived the room we rented was not even set up. the carpet had been ripped up and replaced with laminate flooring which made the acoustics for having meetings difficult. The coffee was cold and the water was murky. when parking our van for class we found two vehicles with there windows busted in. which resulted in us parking our van with equipment off site because of lack of security. In addition the building was not locked up in the evening after our class. And even though our contract said we had the use of the space for a certain period of time, somehow we aways had to go to the front desk to get the building open. This place has gone down hill and i would caution anyone who is thinking about using this space to reconsider.

Avenue Catering responded fast and professional-they even have tastings of their food before you actually book them! It was a small fee but well worth it! My son and his bride decided on the menu and it was absolutely perfect! The caterers were to arrive at 2:30 that afternoon- showed up exactly on time, went right to work setting up and everything went off without a hitch!
