He asked great questions, looked at all possible places and issues that might be causing it and explained his thinking every step of the way. Oh, and Katt and Arlene were awesome in setting up an appointment quickly; both were so helpful and cheerful. Added bonus-- these are my kind of people; people who not only love their jobs but also love our animals...this month in lieu of a service charge they are collecting a $35 donation to Asheville Humane Society. How cool is that?!!

Roto Rooter was willing to come out that night, but we opted to wait till Sunday morning. There was NO EXTRA CHARGE for weekend service! What a blessing. The plumber arrived on time and worked diligently to clear the clog. He needed a 75' electric snake to get far enough down the pipes to reach the clog. He inserted and extracted the snake 3x to be sure he cleared it. It's been running better than ever! I would rate the plumber's work a solid 5. However... We were concerned about how much this fix would cost. Roto Rooter charges a $90 fee just to walk in the door. Then, they give you an estimate for the job. No problem thus far. The estimate was about what we expected (between $500-600); so we agreed to have him do the work. Here's why I'm only giving 3 stars... Once we agreed on the $500+ estimate, I went back to what I was doing before his arrival. Turns out, there was a second "deluxe" estimate presented to my husband, which included pouring a liquid enzyme down the drains "to help keep the pipes clear" going forward. This added over $100 to our bill, and my husband agreed to it! So now this visit was close to $700. I spent hours cleaning up the mess afterwards, so I can assure you every bit of liquid enzyme was washed right out to the sewer system. I felt scammed so am writing this to CAUTION you. BE ON GUARD AGAINST SCAM ADD-ONS!!! By the way, these plumbers work on commission!! Surprise!!!

I was recommended TPH by another plumber I know who mostly does install. They came out the next day. We had bought the house a few months ago and didn't really know anything about the system which is a grinder pump. They were pretty sure it was electrical but the access needed to be pumped. They took the initiative to coordinate with the septic pump firm and got them out that afternoon. Next day they fixed the issue in a manner of a few hours. In addition, Jason, Byron and Ronnie were so professional and just good dudes. My dog thought the same thing and he's pretty picky about who he warms up to. I see a few negative reviews about the hourly cost. That just seems out of touch. We've had other plumbers both here and in Dallas and TPH's rate is right in line and frankly better service. I'm canceling my other annual contract and will be using TPH.

Having worked with…read moremany different handymen, contractors and plumbers in the area I was starting to feel as if I didn't have much choice in my hire, and that I was destined to always get the same high priced, unreliable labor no matter who I turned to. Not the case with Goodman Plumbing! The experience with Goodman Plumbing was pretty much the exact opposite of all of my previous interactions with plumbers and contractors right from the start. My water stopped flowing from my well one morning, so I turned to google and yelp to try a new plumber. Within an hour of calling Goodman Jacob arrived for an emergency visit. He showed up right when he said he would and walked me through the troubleshooting and solutions with confidence and thorough knowledge. I know what you're thinking, "Okay great, a good plumber in the area, it's going to cost me an arm and a leg, isn't it?" His prices were incredibly fair, if not cheaper than what I expected for the job. His explanation of the pricing and estimate were clear and upfront, nothing surprising or questionable at all. You know when you meet someone and you can just instantly tell that they are an honest, good person? That's exactly what you get with Jacob. To say the least, I'm glad to have found my new plumber!

I called Plumb Pro of WNC around 9 a.m. Shane got me scheduled quickly, and Terry came out the same day after hours (a little before 6 p.m.) for the assessment. Terry was straightforward and professional. He suggested I dig to help locate the line and save on labor -- about $200 an hour. I dug a 30-inch-deep trench across the wet area. The next morning Terry and Bryan came out, found the break (I was only about two feet off), and repaired it. The line had failed at a PVC pipe junction. They finished around 12:30 p.m. Total cost was $930. I wasn't home during the repair, so they easily could have padded the bill, but the final price was fair and honest. Communication stayed clear and simple the whole way. I couldn't get another local plumber out quickly without going to a much larger, more expensive company. Plumb Pro of WNC handled it the next day at a reasonable price and let me reduce the cost by doing some of the digging myself. I would absolutely use them again.

To their credit, they refunded that amount after I brought it to their attention but I think they did it because they were CAUGHT. They quoted me DOUBLE what it actually costs. When I reported the overcharge, I was told the technician would be written up. He was only written up because he got CAUGHT. I have no doubt this kind of pricing is widespread across this company. Do NOT use All About Plumbing. I'll also be saving documentation of all of this.
