Roto Rooter was willing to come out that night, but we opted to wait till Sunday morning. There was NO EXTRA CHARGE for weekend service! What a blessing. The plumber arrived on time and worked diligently to clear the clog. He needed a 75' electric snake to get far enough down the pipes to reach the clog. He inserted and extracted the snake 3x to be sure he cleared it. It's been running better than ever! I would rate the plumber's work a solid 5. However... We were concerned about how much this fix would cost. Roto Rooter charges a $90 fee just to walk in the door. Then, they give you an estimate for the job. No problem thus far. The estimate was about what we expected (between $500-600); so we agreed to have him do the work. Here's why I'm only giving 3 stars... Once we agreed on the $500+ estimate, I went back to what I was doing before his arrival. Turns out, there was a second "deluxe" estimate presented to my husband, which included pouring a liquid enzyme down the drains "to help keep the pipes clear" going forward. This added over $100 to our bill, and my husband agreed to it! So now this visit was close to $700. I spent hours cleaning up the mess afterwards, so I can assure you every bit of liquid enzyme was washed right out to the sewer system. I felt scammed so am writing this to CAUTION you. BE ON GUARD AGAINST SCAM ADD-ONS!!! By the way, these plumbers work on commission!! Surprise!!!

We had bought the house a few months ago and didn't really know anything about the system which is a grinder pump. They were pretty sure it was electrical but the access needed to be pumped. They took the initiative to coordinate with the septic pump firm and got them out that afternoon. Next day they fixed the issue in a manner of a few hours. In addition, Jason, Byron and Ronnie were so professional and just good dudes. My dog thought the same thing and he's pretty picky about who he warms up to. I see a few negative reviews about the hourly cost. That just seems out of touch. We've had other plumbers both here and in Dallas and TPH's rate is right in line and frankly better service. I'm canceling my other annual contract and will be using TPH.
