Terrible service. Two out of three employees were very rude and unprofessional. Overcharged for simple pvc parts. Will NOT recommend this company to anyone and will NOT use them for my own needs. read more

Beware of Bate and Switch I contacted Cooper Electric and explained I was calling around for quotes. I have to say that the woman I spoke to was very nice. This is exactly what I told her I needed done. We have a 17ft two story great room that we need to have someone replace the ceiling fan. You will need a minimum 15ft ladder to do the job. She explained that that was a special ladder and they would need to send an "apprentice" to help with the job at an extra cost per hour (he would need to hold ladder for tech). I told her I understood but need to know the price before I decide on a company. She quoted a total of $210.00 for one hour of work with two technicians (Tech and Apprentice) and special ladder for tall Ceilings. She even explained that we would be charge for the full hour so if they were to finish earlier than an hour I could have them change light bulbs in 17 ft ceiling. After work was complete the service tech went out side and brought in an invoice for $254.00. The Service Tech and Apprentice were very professional and polite. I explained the above to the tech and he said I would need to speak with the office. I ended my experience with speaking to the owner on speaker phone so the tech could hear. The owner is far from professional and extremely rude! After a very long confrontation he agreed to honor the $210.00 price and ended the conversation by telling me not to contact them for service again. Not a problem! Feel very sorry for anyone working for this man if this is how he treats customers. read more

Please do not hire this company. They were not accommodating to the requests of changing days and times. The man answering the phone was arrogant and couldn't be bothered. He was annoyed that they had to rearrange their schedule (mind you someone tested positive for covid so the appointment had to be rescheduled). He passed the phone off to the owner who told us we planned improperly, "put the cart before the horse", and "screwed up", therefore he cancelled our job with less than a day of notice. Beware of Cooper Electric. They are old timers who are out of touch. read more

Called to get a quote on some work for my house that I am remodeling and was told that they don't do work like that and that they were not even interested. I wasn't asked any questions about the size of the job or anything. From their website it says that they do residential and commercial work so I figured it wouldn't be an issue. So if you are looking for an electrician who will wire a single residence, you may want to look elsewhere despite their advertising. read more

Tops! We had Cooper Electric Install and Replace our Attic Fan. We also had them install and new grounded 3-prong outlet for our washer in the basement. The contractors at Cooper are very knowledgeable and really nice guys as well. We have had Cooper Electric do our electric off and on for years. read more

A delivery truck pulled the electric service cable off of the house. It was on Saturday 8/22/2020. Desperate to have the electric restored to the house, I called Cooper Electric. When the estimator showed up to look at the issue, I explained the issue and asked him to replace the downed wire (service cable) that goes into the house. He looked at the job and gave me an estimate of $ 3254.00. I was dumb founded. Then he explained to me that the only way he could fix the problem was to replace the existing circuit breaker box and install a new meter box and associated components. I explained several times that I just wanted the wire that came off the house replaced. This would cost only around $.400.00. But he insisted that the only way to fix it was to replace the Circuit breaker box. So being desperate for the power to come back on i said to complete the work. As I thought, when the inspector came to inspect the work I asked him if it was necessary to replace the breaker box and he was reluctant to talk about the contractor, but eventually told me that it was not necessary to replace the Breaker box. And then when Duke came out to reconnect the new electric service, the Duke representative also adamantly confirmed that it was not necessary to replace the breaker box, and that all that was needed to replace the downed wire was to install a new wire with the same type of wire. No inspection even needed. To conform my suspicions of being gauged I called Duke energy and and spoke to the electrical engineer from their service and installation department. He explained that all that was needed was to replace the down wire with the same kind of wire. He called it replacing "like to like". He also stated that that since the existing breaker box had been installed correctly and inspected and approved that there was no need to replace it. I feel that Cooper Electric took advantage of the situation and grossly over charged me for unnecessary work. I wonder how many other senior citizens on fixed incomes that they take advantage of. read more

Cooper Electric was great to work with. They put in a whole new electrical service at my mom's house earlier this month. The estimate was way better than another well known company in town and the final cost matched the estimate. The electricians showed up a little early ready to work, and finished in one day. They left the place clean and tidy. Very professional in every way. The city inspection took a couple to schedule but Gil worked with me to get it done before we had to close on the house. He even met the inspector there on my behalf using a key I had left for him because I had to be at work that day. I was so grateful for that help. Would use Cooper again no question. read more

I contacted this place to get an estimate. The length of my call was less than 1 minute, but the person on the other end was audibly irritated. He shared a quick quote and at my first follow-up question he cut me off and and told me he had 3 calls waiting and that if I need more information I could hold. It was off-putting. The first phone call is the "welcome mat" of the customer to the business. This mat said "Stay Away." read more

I have worked with the folks at Cooper Electric for about 2 years. In my mind, they have the best electricians cincinnati has to offer. The owner Greg is extremely honest and puts customers #1. If you need a electrical contractor, industrial electrical work, or even thermography or thermographic inspection work - I'd highly recommend. read more

Our family has used Cooper Electric for several years. We have come to rely on the company for all of our electrical needs. Their technicians are always on time, or the company will call to explain that there has been a delay and work with us on either rescheduling the appointment, or how long the delay will be if we want to wait. The work is done correctly the first time (a good thing with electricity!) and the prices are reasonable for the quality of work you will receive. They are the only electrical company that we use. read more

I have been using Cooper Electric for my residential needs over the past three years. They have completed a variety of jobs in my home. My home is over 80 years old and has all the challenges older homes present. Most of my jobs have been complicated because of the house's age. I originally called by fluke out of sheer emergency, following a lightening strike. I would not call any other company after my initial experience. Cooper Electric besides doing good work is always accommodating to your schedule, show up on time, clean up after themselves, work quickly, always polite (the techs must accommodate my pets) and I believe the pricing to be very fair. I generally ask for the same tech (Dave McGrath) he's the best you may want to ask for him too. read more

Do not call on this company. The person who came to give us an estimate was not very pleasant and had little patience. I was looking for a quote to replace electrical box to upgrade on a house I was purchasing in less than a week. This information was clearly stated in our conversations many times. They came in with the idea I was looking to try to get more money from the seller and charged me extra for the estimate. When I spoke with the owner he had nothing to say but "That is our policy. We don't do estimates for free if you don't own the home." I wish they would have told me that the estimate would be free if I owned the home. I would have waited 1 week. Communication is not their strongest suit. read more

Don't ever use Cooper Electric! The president of the company, Greg H, will cancel jobs last minute with no notice or care to you or any affected parties. He also will call and literally shout at you over the phone, and use harsh/foul language. He is one of the most unprofessional and awkward business managers/owners I've ever had to work with. Save the stress, and take your time and money elsewhere. read more

Horrible customer service. I tried to get assistance with my lighting system and Greg, the president of the company returned my call. Unfortunately, he was extremely rude and clearly did not want to help me because of the age of my system. I was working with a home warranty and he didn't want to bill them directly (which, while annoying is fine). However, when I explained that I would need to have his electrician call and verify that the work would be covered so that I could get reimbursed, he said he would decline the call for assistance and did not want to work with me. I have never had such bad customer service from someone so high up in the company. My suggestion; don't bother calling unless you want someone to lecture you on how inconvenient it is to call their company and request help on a Saturday! read more

I called Cooper Electric to work on my house which was built in 1969 and has aluminum wiring. They showed up exactly on time, were courteous, knowledgeable, neat and thorough. And the estimate they gave me was accurate and for the amount of work, very reasonable. Will especially was incredible. I am very grateful for their work read more

We contacted Cooper Electric for some projects in our residence and the individual was not very friendly and actually seemed aggravated that I wanted an estimate from his company. He was not very willing to give me an estimate for the projects and just said it depended on how long it would take. He ended the conversation with an approximate figure which is considerably higher than other quotes we received & I am not sure I even would have selected this company anyway because of the lack of professionalism this person demonstrated. read more

I contacted Cooper Electric to have a Hazardous Federal Pacific Electrical Box removed and have it replaced with new and updated parts along with having some additional updated repairs and electrical work done. We had an estimate done by their Craftsman of the Electrical Trade and we requested all new equipment to be installed and updated and he assured us that we would have that. Once all the repairs were completed we paid in full $5,280.75 and was instructed by the electrician that the next step would be the inspector would come out and approve the work, then contact Duke Energy to make the final approval. We were told it would take 5 days for the inspector to arrive which it took a month and when he arrived he told us that we had an outdated meter based box and that Cooper Electric had been notified the first of the year to discontinue using them and that Duke Energy required an updated box. The inspector specifically told my husband that Cooper continues to put him in the middle of all these complaints and he is just the middle man and Cooper Electric was trying to use up all their inventory of old meter based boxes that Duke Energy may not approve our box. We have contacted Cooper Electric several times and they are refusing to replace this box with an updated box that is required from Duke Energy to pass inspection. We have spent over $5,000 for what we thought to be updated equipment repairs and they are still using outdated equipment. We were updating a fire hazard Electrical wiring only to get updated repairs done with outdated equipment.. read more
