We asked Luke to take a look at some household things we neglected during the pandemic. We'd done a pretty miserable DIY repair to our chandelier that looked awful - Luke corrected our work and made it look like new! None of our fans were working and had been poorly installed by the previous owner - he replaced two of them and managed to repair the third. All of our recessed kitchen lights had stopped working - Luke helped me pick the best bulbs for my family and it totally changed the vibe of our kitchen. We can't say enough good things about Luke's work. We replaced our microwave/vent combination with a taller one, so we needed the cabinets and doors above the microwave shortened. After contacting numerous cabinet companies, handymen and woodworkers, no one was willing to bother with shorting the existing doors; they all wanted us to order new doors. Since we couldn't find new doors that matched the rest, we kept looking. Fortunately, we found Luke's listing on Yelp. He not only successfully modified our existing doors, but shortened the cabinet, painted everything, rehung the microwave and attached the vent... by himself and all in one day. He told us upfront his assessment of the job- what he knew he could do and what he was willing to try but could not guarantee, and our options. I dug a hole to plant a new fruit tree and saw that the soil was hard and dry as far as I could dig. So I soaked the hole that day and the next and planted the tree. I also watched when the sprinklers came on and apparently one zone (the one near the tree) didn't come on. I thought maybe it was time to consider a drip system because a section of the other zone of sprinklers didn't water very well ever since the landscaping was installed nearly six years ago. So I called Luke's dad, who has been my fantastic handyman/finishing carpenter/you-name-it for that long. I didn't know about Luke, but dad was busy. Luke surveyed the situation and not only fixed the first zone of sprinklers but found and repaired a substantial leak at the other end of my yard on the other zone, cleaned out dirty sprinkler pipes, and suggested I didn't need to change the system. He also reset the sprinkler timer because it, too, was out of whack. Now all the sprinklers work beautifully, even the ones at the ends of the zones. Luke was friendly, punctual, professional, efficient, knowledgeable, and skillful and left the work area neater and cleaner than before he came! And his fees were reasonable. He also answered my questions patiently and taught me a lot about sprinkler systems. Such a pleasure to work with. Did I mention that he used to be an inspector?
