    Baywatch Island Tours

I came on a Dolphin tour with my GS troup over the summer, and this tour was a highlight of the…read moretrip. Baywatch Dolphin Tours is one of the most popular dolphin excursions on the island, taking guests out onto the Galveston Harbor on a fleet of four different pontoon boats with shaded seating and open sides for sightseeing. Dolphins often swim through Galveston Bay and are easy to spot on wildlife-watching outings from Pier 21, and as such, a dolphin-watching trip is a perfect excursion while staying at your Galveston. The outings last 45 minutes and cover 3 miles of waterfront, so they're easy to squeeze in on a busy day of sightseeing in the Downtown Historic Strand Seaport Area. On this tour, you'll be able to see Galveston's waterfront attractions, like Pier 21, 1877 Tall Ship ELISSA, and the S.S.Selma while learning about some of the harbor's history. As a veteran, I was most impressed with the history of the S.S. Selma. Fun facts: The Selma is a 7500 ton reinforced concrete tanker built in Mobile, Alabama, was launched on June 28, 1919. The ship was one of several concrete ships conceived and designed during World War 1. Construction was not completed until the war ended. The ship had a length 420 ft., a beam of 54 ft. and a draft with full cargo of 26 ft.. and loaded displacement was 13,000 tons. This vessel marked the first use of shale aggregate expanded in rotary kilns for lightweight structural concrete. The tour guides were both entertaining and knowledgeable. If in the area, this tour is definitely one to go on as it's for all ages and can please those like me who like to learn historical facts on trips, for those who love nature (the dolphins were very active during our tour) and for all those in between. * Tours happen rain or shine

My recent experience with Greatland Tours on a trip from Houston to L'Auberge was **shockingly…read moreunacceptable and completely contradictory to the polished "About Us" statement the company promotes.** For a business that claims to use top‑of‑the‑line vehicles, professionally trained drivers, and exceptional customer service, what we encountered was the exact opposite -- a trip that felt unsafe, disorganized, and downright disrespectful to the loyal riders who depend on this service. When passengers arrived at the pickup location at 7:45 AM, there was no staff member present--only a posted note instructing riders to pay the driver. The bus that eventually arrived was an extreme downgrade: a small, visibly dirty vehicle clearly not intended for long‑distance travel. The first step was broken, making it difficult and unsafe for elderly and disabled passengers to board. **I would bet that 80% of your ridership consists of elderly people, which makes the lack of accessibility even more unacceptable.** Inside, the conditions were equally unacceptable. Seats were cramped so tightly that passengers had to squeeze between rows. Several seats were broken, there were no footrests, and the peeling faux leather rubbed off onto passengers' clothing. To make matters worse, the bus had **no restroom**, forcing everyone to rush into a nearby Taco Bell before departure because there would be no stops during the 2‑hour, 10‑minute ride. Even a car trip of that distance typically requires a restroom break, let alone a bus filled with seniors. The bus held only 38 seats. The first pickup nearly filled it, the second left only a couple of seats open, and by the third stop, passengers with reservations were turned away. Tension rose quickly, and understandably so--loyal riders were shocked by the drastic downgrade in transportation and the lack of communication. Adding to the frustration, prices have increased to $25-$30 with a card and $35 without, yet perks upon arrival at the casino have been eliminated. Riders headed to the Golden Nugget are no longer dropped off there and must find their own way, even those using walkers, canes, or wheelchairs. All of this placed the new driver in an unfair and uncomfortable position, simply trying to follow instructions while passengers expressed justified concerns. In the end, we paid more only to receive deplorable service. It raises serious questions: Should this bus--or any like it--have been on the road? Did it even pass inspection for safely transporting passengers? This experience was inhumane, unsafe, and far below the standards Greatland Tours claims to uphold.

It's a neat thing to see. You can tour it on your own for about 30 minutes and see and do all there is to see and do. There's a guided tour which gives you a bit more history and what's going on today, like trying to finish some more rooms to use it as an event space or Airbnb. If you're looking for something to do that's different, and maybe something Instagram worthy, It's worth the $15. I'm sure kids would have a field day here. Just be aware of what you're getting.

I couldn't find my email of the place and when I called and left a voicemail, they immediately called me back and told me they were going to text me when they found my reservation. That all happened in a matter of 5 minutes and I got a text with a picture of my name on the reservation. When we arrived (we stayed the night in Brenham) there was a person with a list and we had paid a deposit for our tickets. She ran the rest and then we parked and walked in. It was a super cool experience because it's so random and also an hour and some change outside of Houston. My kid and my husband loved it and so did I.

Admittedly, tea tasting wasn't something I would have sought out on my own, but the experience was a revelation; it allowed me to discover a newfound appreciation for the complexity of different flavors. Beyond the tasting, there was something special about the atmosphere, dressing up, singing along to the music, and soaking in the local history of the city. It was the perfect blend of sophisticated and spirited fun. I cannot recommend this experience enough for a Galentine's outing or any meaningful gathering with friends.

DO NOT BOOK THIS BUS!!!! It is a scam with false…read moreadvertising. I usually do not give bad reviews because I believe every business has a chance for improvement but I was really hoping all the bad reviews I saw after I and my sisters booked this bus tour was untrue. Unfortunately there was no lies told as we also had our own fair share of experience which completely ruined my birthday experience, left a sour taste in my mouth and had me screaming NEVER AGAIN!!!!This experience caused me extreme sadness especially with our waitress Nathalie being overly rude. I can't believe they hire someone like that to work in their organization. Anyways it is a poorly managed company because, First of all we booked the 2:30 Luxe package for March 15 2026. This was part of my birthday weekend celebration. Please do not waste your time. Even if you insist on going don't waste your money on the Luxe package. It is a marketing scam. We got a text that morning that the take off time was rescheduled to 3pm. Anyways we arrived on time. And note that there is nothing like priority boarding. Everyone just gets in. Secondly the customized tumblers were not available neither were there take out plates as promised. There were only cheap styrofoam cups. When we asked our server Nathalie about the tumbler she was Extremely Rude to us. First she tried to offer us mocktails as compensation and we told her the mocktails are already included in the Luxe package. That is when she then proceeded to raise her voice at us. She basically told us that "she does not own the business, and we should not argue with her (which we did not at all), and we should decide if we want tea or not, answer her yes or no and she does not have time for this". We could not believe our ears we just stared at her. Of course we could not accept anything from her after that, who would? However the second waitress Imani was very professionally and polite. Even with the air conditioning in the bus not working right she was sweating and still making sure everybody was doing ok. She apologized for her colleagues behavior. Now, there was suppose to be some entertainment and a tour experience with narration. Yeah, there was nothing like that. No music, No singing. This was just a hot uncomfortable bus ride filled with rude staff, disappointment and false advertising. I will not recommend even to my enemy. Please note that there are other fun things to do in houston with $214.34. Plus we paid $30 for parking per car. Also we were suppose to get a 3 tier sandwich tray we only got 2. This was a total disaster. I need my refund from this terrible experience. Please read all the reviews before deciding. The good reviews are from a long time ago or those people are paid to write good reviews. Because every review from 2026 is as is. They need to do better or shut down this business.
