I wouldn't recommend Cool Bear to anyone. I have been very displeased with how many issues I've had during my AC replacement process. From leaks in my roof, missing wifi compatible thermostats, my incorrect email address not being updated in the system when applying for a county permit or when I was to receive my Costco card perk, pressure to release funds before the job was completed, canceled appointments when technicians have arrived with the incorrect size ladder. Too many canceled appointments due to a lack of preparedness on Cool Bear's part. My inspection was accidentally passed by the county after a canceled appointment because Cool Bear didn't have the correct size ladder. Cool Bear suggested that we have the inspector come back out to look things over without going through proper protocol of reversing the incorrectly passed inspection and filing for the permit/inspection again. I'm lucky, because I had a contact within the county to help me out, but I can only imagine what would happen to a customer without that contact. I had to take time from work, only for my issues to not be resolved time and time again. I could go on an on with how many problems I experienced working with Cool Bear, but I'm not spending a moment more thinking about the poor customer experience that I have had. Never will I recommend cool bear or do I want to work with them again. read more

an hour ago I wish I could say how the installation process went well but unfortunately I can't seem to get past the appointment process I scheduled an appointment many months ago in a Home Depot in which they never showed up we let that one go and continue using our window unit until its just too hot to deal with the window units and we're in the middle of a rehab on the house I called them on Friday and schedule an appointment for them to arrive today at noon and which I took the time off from work for a second time to be here and they did not show I called them at 12:10 to find out if they were maybe just running late or what time somebody would be there and I was told they didn't have an appointment scheduled for me and I explained to the girl I spoke to somebody on Friday and schedule an appointment for today at noon and this was the second time we were doing this even though they didn't show the first time we were willing to give them a second chance the girl on the phone told me to calm down which was completely unwarranted at no time was I loud rude or had anything negative to say whatsoever which definitely that upset me because why would she even say something like that she told me they didn't have any notes in the system on me so I didn't ask her what let me speak with a supervisor she told me there was none available for me to speak with I then asked her if I don't have an appointment scheduled why did you call me this morning at 7:59 a.m. and she stated because I saw your name on the board but there were no notes I told her the phone only rang one time and it was no voice message left so I just figured you guys called me by mistake so if I was on the board obviously I had an appointment scheduled for today I guess no notes that they forgot to enter in their system must mean cancle amd ignore the new customer it's completely irresponsible of them for me to take time off from work and have the company not show for the second time if this is any indication of what kind of work they do since the appointment process is so ridiculous I can only imagine what the installation process will be it would of been an easy job I needed a complete new AC and was ready to move foward today to get installed as quickly as possible I guess they don't need the business and don't like cash paying customers. Stay away. I bought a Lennox through Costco who partners with CoolBear in Florida. They showed up for the install on time, but the contract was missing items I paid for and had other mistakes. After they finished the install, I did not get the permit paper work or the Costco rebate. Turned out they mistyped my address. Finally got the permit paper work two months later, but failed inspection. Now they are not returning my calls. Also, the thermostat they put in does not have batteries so it resets whenever there is a power outage (frequently). read more

WORST COMPANY EVER. save your money. I bought a home back in December 2021 and it was just starting to get chilly out. there is no insulation so I am subject to weather conditions. I decided I wanted some kind of a/c in my home that would be able to warm us up because I'm skinny and my father has no thyroid and its very hard to stay comfortable in 56 degree living room and all we had was a little plastic heater. we looked around and found Cool Bear Services and they said we cannot do a central system so we will need a mini split system. they charged $8000 for an a/c that never worked a single day, leaks all over (my walls, cabinets, and floors), and doesn't heat or cool. my house is 87 degrees on a normal day with a window ac running. they sent out about 6 guys to come run tests to see how to fix it since we just spent 8 grand! they always told us it was not working and they ordered a certain part and we never saw the same person twice. I think it was defective or they put it too close to the ceiling I'm not sure but I never got a/c in my house. it beeps sometimes but I just use window a/c year round and heavy blankets next winter because I can't afford another mini split. they even signed a contract and got a permit. I am disappointed with Cool Bear. I had a brand new system installed a couple of years ago. There were a few minor issues with ordering the right parts for the installation but were resolved. At least 3 times I have had to call them due to the unit leaking but were resolved, I am not sure why a new unit should have leaked but it was fixed. On Friday, I called as the unit started leaking again, the last time was last October that I had to have it fixed for the same reason. The representative who answered checked my account and said I didn't have a warranty anymore and that it would cost me $159 to be paid up front for someone to come out after 4, so I said how about Saturday and she said after 4 it would be 159 as well and I asked "well, can you come out before 4 and she said they were all booked. Then, it occurred to me to ask well what about during the day say Monday and she said it would be $79 so I made an appt for Tuesday afternoon. I got off the phone and I was a little irritated that this rep. was not upfront about the price, she did not specify that the 159 was an after-hours price I presume. I decided to cancel the appt and go somewhere else. I just got the feeling that I would not be happy with the service. read more

I purchase a a/c unit from Cool bear about a year ago and also purchase a one year maintenance contract, since the installation I had to call them four different time to service the unit, that continue to shut down, and two of the appointments they never show up or call to say something. I purchase the unit thought Home depot and they recommend using Cool Bear. They need to REMOVE this company from their list as they are not doing satisfactory work. I hoping that the unit was install properly and all I need is to find a reparable company to service the unit. Please don't allow this company to continue to give unsatisfactory work. My tenant was having an issue with her condenser pump. Sent cool bear over to look at it. I never heard back from them at all, but tenant said that the tech found no issues and didnt charge me at all, all he did was remove a PVC pipe. 12 hours later my unit was leaking and puddling on the floor. When I called the company and complained their excuse was "well we didnt charge you" . . . They were not able to promise an appointment the next day, instead they were to call me back but unsurprisingly did not. We went with a different company who came out the very next day, diagnosed the problem quickly and fixed it on the spot read more

My Friend hired this company to install An AC through Home Depot. Not only did they not install an AC they did damage to his ceiling and Alarm in the house. They un hooked a pipe in the ceiling and never re hooked it up there when the installer came to check on it instead of walking on the beams came right through the ceiling. this company is a joke. I came to Cool Bear through Home Depot. I set up the consultation in the store, and got a confirmation call within a few hours, and got 2 more as well. Fernando arrived (he came early, called ahead to make sure it was OK) and took a look at everything. He gave me a price that was competitive with the others I had, so I accepted the proposal. They were able to install the very next day. They said between 8:00-10:00, and I saw the truck pull up at 7:45, but Vicks waited until 8:00 to knock on my door. Everything from the installation of the interior air handler to hoisting the condenser unit onto the roof with a crane seemed to go smoothly. The only small glitch was that the original unit I had ordered didn't quite fit in the closet, but Vicks had a workaround and it didn't delay anything, and so far everything is in working order. I'm hoping this great service continues throughout the life of the system! read more

Horrible customer service!! Scheduled a cleaning and we got a time block of 11am-1pm. No one showed up! We called and was told that the technician had an emergency and they will be at our house within an hour and a half. Got a call back saying we need to reschedule. Now it's Saturday and our appointment this time was from 10-12. Guess what?!? Again a NO show, so we called again! This time they can't come out because of the weather!! As we all know our life has changed for worse after covid19.But still are some organization ,and Companies they are trying their best to get back on their routine ,and one of them is Cool Bear.They changed both our units on Jan/2018. WE could not ask for more professionalisms, it was outstanding, and because of their action we started using their maintenance since then.To be honest there is not any reason for me to pass such a outstanding service. On June 4/2021 I made appointment for yearly Service, again they were responsible enough to call and let me know day advance that tech has family problem.Mr Roger came next day instead and service both units.I can not ask for any better service ,he was in so much detail, he was very professional very considered came with mask, and bootie.We appreciated Cool Bear for outstanding service ,and outstanding staff.We will see you next year with god,s welling. I called Home Depot to schedule A/C services for a tune up. They informed me that their closest provider to me was Cool Bear. I explain to the lady at Home Depot I needed an A/C coil cleaning. She gave me cool Bear's contact info and I called them. The lady that answered the phone was very nice, I proceeded to tell her my Dad was 75 years old and he has been without an A/C since last night and it was 94 degrees outside and it was even worst inside the house, so I was worried for his safety due to his age. She said she was going to help me out and talk with the techs and they will give me a call. 4:30pm and no call, so I decided to call them back. The lady who took care of me so another very nice lady tried to work with me and help me out. She said it will be 189.00 for the after hour service I was asking. I explain my situation to her and she tried he very best to help me. She said they will be there by 8pm. I received a call back from saying that the tech was on the way and that because I didn't get a call back from them it will be 89.00. I thank her and she said if I need anything to call her back tomorrow. At last the tech (Wesley) get here so I explained to him what I needed and he told me no one told him it was for a coil cleaning and that the 89.00 dollar was just to diagnose the A/C unit. So I told him what was told the price was for a coil cleaning. He calls his manager and his manager told him to take pictures of the unit for him to quote the coil cleaning. Wesley takes the pictures and sends them and his manager says the price is 875.00 for a coil cleaning. He also stated because is an older unit they did not guarantee the work and were not responsible if something went wrong with the unit. I told Wesley I can get a new A/C with a little more for the price they were charging me. I said to him I would not use their services. Got on you tube and did my research, which in fact was very helpful. I proceeded to buy the thing they suggested I get from Home Depot, 1) Web coil clean foam 2) spray bottle 3) small brush. I sprayed the foam waited 20 minutes twice, scrub the coil and rinsed it from top to bottom twice and voila A/C is working perfectly. Total cost 15.00. I just saved me 860.00. Do not use this people they are scammers they told me it was going to take 5 hours to do it and I did in less than an hour. If I did it and I am female on my own so can you. They quote you a price and that is only a diagnostic fee, even if you know what your unit needs. I will be contacting consumer affairs and the Better Business about them, they do not need to charge 875.00 for a coil cleaning average price is 160.00. Too bad they don't have 0 stars in here, even 1 star is too much for this scammers. I will also let Home Depot know about them. Consumer Beware of this company. Let me start by saying that the initial experience with Cool Bear was fantastic. From the time Costco sent them the referral, to the initial appointment, to the installation. Everything was great. It wasn't until after the installation that the issues started. Shortly after installation I was noticing a severely high pitched electrical whine while the system was running, that could be heard inside and outside. I began to contact the job manager for this immediately, asking what the issue was, was it normal, what could be done, etc., as this was having a detrimental effects on my tinnitus after over a decade of military service. It was making it so I couldn't sleep, constant migraines, and IS still affecting every facet of my day to day life. I was told that this is normal, but after having lived with and used Air Conditioners of all makes, models, and types, in the United States and abroad, I know this is a fallacy. No manufacturer would intentionally sell a system, knowing it's going INSIDE of people's homes, that makes a sound that can be heard from over 30ft away, through walls, and over the sound of daily activities. Now imagine when you're sleeping and there is no sound, except the electrical scream from the AC. Weeks would go by without a single response. It has been a month since my last email asking for more information regarding options. Removing the current system, downgrading, etc. All of which has been completely ignored. They want to set up an appointment to get it permitted, but I won't do it until they can fix the system. Still to this day I have not received an email, phone call, or letter, regarding a solution to this problem. I haven't demanded this situation be resolved immediately, but to be kept informed of what was going on. If they can't even communicate with their customers, they don't deserve your business. I am currently in the process of discussions with CostCo for remedies, but if they are unable to provide one, I will be filing a lawsuit. Their current business model is get it in quickly, then forget about it and the consumer. Don't trust them to follow through with their 10 year warranty if they can't even remedy a system a week old. read more

My Lennox air conditioner stopped working 1 year and 1 day after installation by Cool Bear. Cool Bear was unwilling to discount labor costs despite the one(1) day post labor warranty expiration. Their customer service representative continuously restated the fact that the warranty expired yesterday. I did not dispute the expiration I simply requested consideration of the one(1) day factor in this situation. Despite my request for any assistance(discount) to reduce this cost I was provided nothing but an apology. There was a complete disregard for maintaining a positive existing customer relationship or providing any offer to keep my business. My final call to Cool Bear Services to speak with their office manager/supervisor prompted a will call back response, a call that I did not receive. Cool Bear gave me no other choice but to take my business elsewhere. read more
