Sausage croissant sandwich, bacon bagel sandwich, iced lavender white chocolate latte
Sabrina N.

Cool Beans is a small, nice little shop across from Anna Maria pier. I always come here for iced coffee when I'm in Anna Maria Island. Today I tried their special of the day - Lavender white chocolate iced latte. It was great! Honestly whatever drink I've had here is good. But I also tried their sausage egg and cheese croissant which was also good.

Small inside but good food and the staff were very sweet. Would definitely recommend for breakfast!

This place is so overpriced. 7 dollars for a caramel latte? I didn't even sub the milk. The bagels were very clearly store bought, not fresh. Honestly I would give it 2 stars but the barista was kind and apologized for the wait. She was by herself taking orders and making the food and coffee until the owner came in late. AMI is in dire need of a good coffee shop.

delicious Apple Danish

I had an excellent first experience with an enthusiastic, friendly & dedicated barista who opened the door for me, made a great iced latte and served me some great pastries for the next couple days in my beach house. I like that they have their own roastery and great tasting espresso bean. Enjoyed an excellent $2 lemon mini-macaron. Both the cherry & the apple Danishes were made with canned fruit and excellent. Loved the raspberry cupcake. As for negatives, it's a weird lay-out, making it crowded, with 2 awkward entrances and a skinny passing space along one edge. They were out of a main product, fresh-squeezed o.j. They could've used two employees. They don't sell shirts that say "Cool Beans". They sell edible products with cannabis in them which I don't support in non-cannabis labeled stores, so not likely to return.)

Plastic bag bagels

Please do not waste your time here. Overpriced food and drinks that are literally store bought out of plastic bags. You will be eating Thomas bagels from the grocery store. Absolutely a shame this place is still open on such a nice strip of Anna Maria. This is a disgrace of a coffee shop to be selling 7$ bagels with cream cheese. To add to it they don't even put your cream cheese on, they come in little containers! - Customer service - Food - Drinks - Location

Friendly staff good coffee quick service. What else do you need? Much better than waiting an hour at some other places.

My sandwich was delicious BUT it was missing the avocado (which I went back and asked for separately). I also realized a little too late that I got someone else's order because I got American cheese not Swiss cheese. I think it would be helpful if they labeled the different sandwiches since there were three bagel sandwiches in our order. For my drink, I wanted to try the jewel flavoring (toffee nut and carameand I asked the staffer if it was better in a frappe or an iced latte and she advised the latter. The drink was so delicious that I think she was right. I also ordered a banana nut muffin, which I will have to come back and review as I have not tried it yet. However, I did try the crumble cake and it was too sweet for my liking. The place is really cute with art and merchandise but the music was too loud. However, we were lucky to find seating in the back. I have to say, the staff was nice and responsive. I know it is not easy managing a big party.

If you come during season, and on weekends, expect to wait. But it is worth it! The burrito was simply delicious. There was so much of it that you do feel like you're getting every penny you pay. Both were gluten free. Now I have to admit that the lox avocado toast was about 6.5/10 (as the avocado had that weird taste it develops when it sets out for too long), but the waffle was SUPER good, ESPECIALLY for a GF option. The coffee was decent. Customer service was good. Everybody was very friendly and attentive, from the cashier to the wait staff. I have to say that I also got an iced latte with coconut milk and I was ecstatic that they had the coconut milk option because I'm noticing that it's becoming less and less available. Now to the other things that I have tasted; I tried their chai chiller. Even though it was too sweet for my liking (I reckon it was made with chai syrup). However, I think it tasted great -and the spiciness really was coming through. Finally, the tried the morning glory baked item. It was good. The combination of coconut, carrots, cinnamon, and raisins worked well together. I also got an orange-something scone, but have not tried it yet. I will have to come back and update my review once I do. The place looks eclectic but it works! It also has a small gift shop at the entrance which is a good option if needed.

The seating area was really nice with plenty of seats and tables. Wish someone was willing down the tables as there were a number of tables that were sticky. The line was long, but moved quickly. The setup to order was oddly positioned, but seems like you'd order where the line forms and then pickup closer to the street, however the set up isn't that way. Went to get some shirts but the lady working was simply rude and we left. Overall, not a bad place to grab a bowl, smoothie or coffee.

The aesthetic of the store is really pretty, there is no inside so you order from a window and wait for your order outside. The person inside yells out your name for you to pick up your order. The backyard has pretty white gravel rocks and a seating area. The line although long, moved fairly quickly, the girl at the cashier was friendly and welcoming she also recommend a few things etc. Now on to the food - the Açaí bowls are really big definitely shareable. I ordered the açaí bowl, which on the menu says açaí , strawberry, blueberry and mango... unfortunately that is not the bowl I received, my bowl had strawberries and bananas and almond butter.. no mango, no blueberry. If there was a shortage or not available I'd expect for the staff to communicate that when placing my order .. which was disappointing. I also ordered a croissant but that tasted like a bjs Costco croissant lol idk why I expected homemade lol. The bowl was also very watery nothing like coconut water, it didn't have much flavor in the açaí base itself which was disappointing as well. Overall I wouldn't return. there other places nearby with better ratings.

I dream of a Minnie's Breakfast at home in Maryland during the cold winter months. The staff is amazing. You can't find nicer people to start off your day. All I have to say is come hungry because their portions are HUGE (I started getting the kids meal/ half portions because the adult servings are way too much for me) and the prices are great. It's a beach style restaurant not a 5 star Michelin restaurant. At times there is a little wait when they are busy and it's understandable because there is 1 cook and a helper and being only 2 people in the back the food always comes out fast and perfect. It's AMI and they have chairs and benches so enjoy the slow paced lifestyle of the island. They are a small family owned business who have had to close for a few days over the years at no fault of theirs due to construction, re-pavement of the shopping center, hurricane damage and a few days for health reasons for the owner/cook which they update in a timely manner on their social media pages or in person if you are a regular. I started reading some of the reviews and it broke my heart how entitled people can be and I had to write my own because I'm thinking these people are either really miserable in life or NO ONE can please them so if you read the 1 star reviews just imagine the type of people by their complaints. I recommend Minnie's Beach cafe to everyone and anyone who asks. I have friends who drive from Lakewood Ranch and Osprey every other weekend just to eat breakfast here. If you are looking for a beach atmosphere with great customer service and delicious food look no further. THIS is the place you want to get a hearty breakfast that will last you throughout the day.

I really wanted to enjoy this place, but unfortunately our experience started in a way that left me…read morein tears at the table. We waited about 40 minutes outside before being called in. While waiting, I noticed the woman greeting other guests very warmly, with things like "come on in, baby." When our table was called, she mispronounced my husband Tony's name. He simply corrected her and said, "Tony," and her response was, "whatever." As we approached the entrance, she was standing in the doorway and I finally asked, "Can we come in? It's hot out here." Her demeanor immediately changed and she silently moved aside and led us to our table. I'll be honest: once I sat down, I cried for about five minutes out of anger. I'm pregnant, I was hungry, my two young children were with us, and after waiting so long I didn't feel like I could simply pick everyone up and start over somewhere else. I also didn't want to have an argument in front of my children, so I swallowed a lot of what I wanted to say. I can't say what motivated the difference in treatment, but as a Latina woman, I noticed it and it made me uncomfortable--especially when I later watched difficult interactions happen with two other Latino tables as well. I was glad to see apologies and much warmer treatment afterward, but our initial interaction had already affected what should have been a nice family breakfast. Thankfully, a second server eventually took care of us and our experience with her was much better. We ultimately waited around another 40 minutes for our food. I'm not writing this because I expect special treatment. I expect the same basic courtesy given to every other guest. Whatever the reason for the initial behavior, responding "whatever" when a customer politely tells you his name is disrespectful and unnecessary. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, because no guest should leave a breakfast table wondering why their family seemed to be treated differently.
