I have used cooks a couple times now. Once to help me get into my dad's home. He left the wrong key for me when he went on vacation and his dog was locked inside. And then I needed duplicate keys made for my RV. One of my keys they didn't have the exact match. So they tried cutting one for free and said try it and let us know if it works. Well it did! And we went back for another one. They are the nicest people to work with. Definitely recommend for all locksmith needs. read more

Last week I called Cook Locksmith and asked a very specific question" How much does it cost to program a key fob for 2015 Hyundai Azera? He asked if I needed the fob or do I have one. I told him I have a fob that has never been programmed. He gave me a price of $40.00. I drove to their shop and and after waiting 15 minutes for someone to talk to me, he proceeded to tell me it was $90.00 to program the fob and another $20.00 to cut the Key. I told him I did not need the key cut and that I had called and was given a price of $40.00. He said that was a different service and does no apply to the fob I have. If there are different services for different fobs, should he have known that when I identified my car in the phone call? I have used Cooks ay least 4 or 5 times over the years for different cars or locks, but I came away very disappointed. read more

Truly a full service locksmith for residential, commercial andautomotive needs. They also have safes and other products in showroom.

Will definitely recommend!! I needed another key fob made and the dealer wanted an exuberant amount of money. Cooks was recommend to me. Everyone was so friendly and knowledgeable. It literally took them about 20 mins that's it. They were easily $100 less than what the dealer wanted! I know each key fob is different, mine is a Lexus for reference. I know ow i can't say prices, but theu are worth it! read more

I broke a key in the lock of my front door while trying to unlock it so I could not get inside. I had the key for the deadbolt but that wasn't going to help until I got the handle lock fixed. I made a few calls to locksmiths and was told I would receive a call back to give me an idea of how much it would cost to come out and remedy my situation. One company did price it but it was very high so I had a ballpark figure to work with. While waiting for call backs I saw online Cook's Locksmith Services and gave them a call. The person who answered was so professional, courteous, pleasant and helpful, quite unlike the other services I spoke with. I was sold. And, even better, the cost was far less than quoted to me at the other place. Omar, the locksmith, arrived quickly, called to tell me his ETA, and was also a professional, courteous, pleasant and helpful person. He removed the broken key, made me a new key and fixed the lock in about 15 minutes time. I could not have been more pleased with the service I received and highly recommend Cook's Locksmith Services above all others listed online and would use them again if I ever need a locksmith. read more

I've been there twice and have never had a problem, plus the service was very quick and easy.

After a small problem regarding a cylinder installation in our front door , Dave was back first thing the next morning to rectify the situation. Very impressed with courtesy and professionalism. read more

Trustworthy is the most important thing to me for someone having access to all your possessions. Honesty is next and quick response in that order. This place excels in each of these categories. I used them from a business aspect and have used them on a personal level. They have never disappointed me. Would recommend them for anyone needing their expertise. And they are friendly and caring. Just can't say enough about them. read more

Guy that answered the phone was rude. Insisted on asking first what does AAA pay before telling me his charge which means he was altering the price. You should know your fees before asking what discount AAA gives. Also he was only making a key without a remote and had the gall to say $450 minus the $100 AAA would cover. Who in there Right mind would pay $350 for a plain key without a remote. Sir keep your keys and your rudeness during my emergency. I will make sure all of social media knows NOT to patronize this business and word of mouth goes along way. You sir got the right one today Cooks locksmith you just declined your business. read more

Shoutout to Trip at Cook's for the awesome and quick service. We had just moved into our new home and I locked myself out! Luckily, I called Cook's. Trip was there within the hour and he was super nice. He got me into my house quickly and waited for me to get my closing documents to prove that I owned the home. Totally worth the $95.00! read more

Has your son lost that key fob yet again??? Has the husband dropped the keys and then mowed right over them? Perhaps your sweet little Toto has chewed up yet another key fob! This is the place! I have replaced too many key fobs since my son became a driver. Fast service! Excellent service, and they very quickly were able to tell me if they could replace my fob, held it for me and then when I arrived I had a key cut and the fob programmed and BOOM, I was able to remote start my caddy again! Crucial in this cold weather! Fast friendly service and reasonable prices for fob and reprogramming! Especially if you drive a GM! Update..... looks like another visit necessary! Hubby washed his key fob when he didn't take the fob out of his pocket. Seriously, I think that makes like 6 fobs between son and hubby! read more

They were very friendly! Price was great, excellent value, professional. This will always be my go-to locksmith!

After buying a new home with a variety of keys, I was ready to get locks changed/fixed. I reached out to Cook's through Yelp and got very prompt responses. There was a very specific lock I decided I wanted, and they confirmed they can install that. Once that came in, I set up a time with them to come to my house (again, all through Yelp! Yay!). My mom was actually the one who met them there. She said they were super friendly and very helpful. They gave feedback and helped make sure I got exactly what I needed. I also asked my mom what she would give them on Yelp, and she also said five stars. I am very pleased with everything and would use Cook's in the future for my lock needs. read more

I went to Cook's to see how much a new fob will cost for my Toyota. Travis was the sales rep that waited on me when I got there.I informed Travis that I was told I needed a new fob according to a "Batteries " establishment. Travis, being a CONSCIENTIOUS rep, took my fob and recheck the battery and replaced it with a new one. Miraculously my fob worked, it cost me $6.35 instead of $175. I will drive from St Matthews to Cook's anytime to get a job done!!!!! read more

We have an old house in the highlands. I believe the front door to the house is the original one. It has a beautiful weathered brass handle & decor on the front along with a mail slot. After approx 70 years, the door handle gave up. I called Cook's (highly recommended by everyone in my neighborhood) and I have not had customer service, knowledgeable people, on time ... forever until Cook's. They exceeded every expectation. I highly recommend them for any key problems you might have. Thank you Cook's. Keep up the great work. They don't make them like you anymore!!! read more

Cook's was recommended to us when we moved into a new home. The great customer service was apparent from the first phone call. I was able to get a quote and schedule an appointment quickly. Of course, plans had to change slightly due to the seller moving out later than anticipated and Cook's was easily able to accommodate our request. The service tech, David, called us 45 minutes before he arrived so we were able to go about our day without worrying about having to rush back to the house. We got 3 locks changed for about $140. We would recommend them to anyone. read more

They will respond very quickly to text thru Yelp. They came to my house quickly and charged what I think is a very reasonable price to rekey the locks. They were honest about what they could do, what they could not do, and gave me recommendations based on what my budget was then let me decide. These are very hard-working and honest people who will give you options. read more

The team members at Cook's Locksmith are warm, courteous, and above all, genuine. Hannah worked with me over two days to solve a very specific and at times complex issue. Throughout the process she was patient, understanding, and as determined as I was to address every aspect of my concerns. I walked away from the experience refreshed and stress-free thanks to the superb service at Cook's Locksmith. Highly, highly recommend! read more

My 150k miles Honda's ignition locked up. I towed to my usual mechanic who tried but said not in their wheelhouse & I'd likely have to go dealer route and expect $$$ and waiting for parts. After reading dealer reviews, I started calling around and was referred to Cooks' as excellent and service oriented. They were! Towed car there and they replaced tumblers without replacing whole ignition lock assembly and had my car ready to go same day! Good people, and saved me $$ and headaches of dealers. Thx. read more

Needed several deadbolts changed at our home. Sent a message through Yelp and got an immediate response with helpful questions and information. Service was performed within two days (probably could've been sooner but my schedule was the limiting factor), and the technician was extremely professional, nice, and informative. I visited the Jeffersonville store for the first and second time today and was very happy with the service and prices. First I got a spare key for my daughters 2000 Toyota Solara for a little more than $3 then I came back and got a couple different house keys made, 2 each for less than a couple dollars each. The store craftsman was very friendly and professional. I plan on going back to have some other keys duplicated too. Great location, service and quality. read more

Locked my keys in my car trying to get home for the evening and not only did the tech get to my condo in less than 20 minutes but by the time I got downstairs and out the building he already had the car unlocked for me! He was a pleasure to talk to the entire time as well! This has to not only be the best locksmiths in Louisville but I feel comfortable saying they are the best in Kentucky. My father in-law had locked his keys in his trunk on Christmas Eve and they were there in under 30 min to help him. I have used them several times over the past 35 yrs and they always come through. A fair and honest company well deserving of the 5 start review. read more

These guys are awesome! We recently moved and have had them both out to the house, and worked on problems with auto locks. Everyone we've met is friendly, extremely knowledgeable and fantastic to deal with! Dropping my car off after approving over $100 labor to disable my car door panel, and they called to tell me they determined it wasn't "really needed" , provided a fix and total bill was only $39 for a new precision key ( mine had worn down). Highly recommend for anything lock related! read more

Don't call this place. They are over priced and get smart over the phone. I tried to get a key cut for a 2001 Ford Taurus and I received 2 other quotes at $130 - $140. After losing my only Jeep key for almost a week before finding it again, i decided it would be wise to get another made. I called around and received the best quote from Cook's. Tony G. Was extremely patient with my questions and went out of his way to make sure that I was happy. With such reasonable prices, I was able to get exactly what I wanted instead of the bare bones. Thank you so much. Cook's will definitely be the first place I call next time I need a locksmith. read more

I wish I could give more than 5 stars. I have used Cooks locksmith many times and they have always taken care of me. I locked me keys in car and someone was immediately there to get me in. Technician are very knowledgeable and friendly. I have recommended to many friends and all were truly very happy with this company.Thank you so much Cooks!!! read more

I called their after hours number (it's a Saturday), when the voice message picked up, I hung up the phone. Simple as that. Someone told me of a better service to call, and I'm glad I hung up on the voice message. 10 minutes later I receive a text message from the Cooks after hour number being passive aggressive saying they appreciated how disrespectful I was. Completely unprofessional. I wasn't disrespectful at all- I called and chose not to leave a message. I called another locksmith who answered the phone, is on the way, and it's childish sending rude texts to potential customers. I would never use or recommend Cooks services. Very immature and unprofessional. read more
