Cookie 39 is a new cookie establishment located in the heart of the Yale University area. As soon as I walked in the establishment it was very clean and smelled like an abundance of cookies. As I walked in, I was greeted by the lovely staff and the owner. The owner is really is outgoing and he told me the cookie recipes came from his mother. I would have to say he's making his mother really proud with these outstanding cookies. I ordered the Sugar, Chocolate Chip, Cookies and Cream, and Chocolate cookies. All the cookies were fabulous. They freshly baked, soft, and tasted homemade. These cookies are really the real deal. Also, between the hours of two to five there is a happy hour special where you can buy two cookies and get one for free. What a deal!!. The cookies are huge, delicious, homemade, and decadent. The customer service was amazing and I would definitely be back again.

The store is so aesthetic and filled with the fresh baked cookie scent which is extremely tempting and makes you hungry! The location is right in the busiest part of new haven and very easily reachable. There are ample amount of choices of cookies and the service was excellent and quick. Perfect for picking up some cookies for some dessert cravings. The cookies are perfectly soft and gooey on the inside and crispy on the outside. The cookies are huge and filling.

I have heard that a balanced diet is achieved by having a cookie in each hand, and Cookie 39 is a place to make that happen. I simply could not resist trying the flavor of the month cookie, the lemon blueberry. This cookie looked beautiful and summery and tasted fantastic with hints of lemon combining with the blueberry topping. My other hand held the triple chocolate cookie which sold me on the first bite! My friend loved both the sugar cookie with buttercream and the triple chocolate. All cookies were moist, not overly sweet, and tasted just out of the oven fresh! The cookies are large and will satisfy that cookie yearning. At least temporarily. And yes, they have milk along with other beverage options. Cookie Happy hour is a genius and irresistible idea and both myself and my friend jumped at the chance to buy 2 cookies and get one free! There are 7 cookie choices available, 1 being the flavor of the month cookie. Cookies are $4 each. The interior is immaculately clean and tidy and the staff was most friendly and happy to explain all about Cookie 39. This is a great spot to stop in before after perusing the shops at Yale and surrounding establishments in New Haven. There is on street parking or a lot right across the street, 75 cents per half hour I believe. I will return and highly recommend.

Very friendly staff greeted as soon as I walked in. Was shown the cookie menu, would've like to been able to see what they looked like in a display case just to get an idea. I got the chocolate chip, the cookies and cream, sugar cookie with the buttercream frosting and the peanut butter cup. The cookies are a nice size also a bit deceiving, I thought they looked a bit thin but they were actually pretty big and thick cookies. The sugar cookie was my favorite. The buttercream wasn't overly sweet my least favorite was the cookies and cream. It was a chocolate and white chocolate chip cookie. Very sweet and not very good. The other 2 were good. It was very clean inside and you can see into the area where they are making the cookies. Overall the cookies were good just not sure I would go out of my way to return. Not a lot of choices of cookies and a bit expensive.

This building is absolutely gorgeous. It smells like cookie heaven. I ordered four cookies. Two chocolate chip, one sugar and one cookies and cream. The employees and owners were super nice. It's got a great location with a lot of short term parking nearby. I will 100% be back. I love cookies and this place is the bomb !!

Loved both flavors, but the Almond with Toasted Coconuts really stole my heart...and tastebuds. One of the best flavors of ice cream I've ever had...period! ++++ Strawberry and Cranberry with Dark Chocolate Chunk - Once again, so creamy for ice cream. These fruity flavors were phenomenal! Not too sweet and so natural tasting. No "artifical-ness" whatsoever. Being the hugely obsessive strawberry ice cream fanatic that I consider myself to be, this might have been the best strawberry ice cream I've ever tasted. + Menu consist of some very delicious-sounding and interesting flavors, including the Almond and Sweet Cream ones mentioned above, Pumpkin with Ginger Molasses and Eggnog. + Two employees were very friendly, engaging and informative about the most popular flavors. + Taste-testing is certainly allowed. + Two benches for customers to sit on inside, but there is plenty of standing room to walk around and admire the farm cow photos on the wall. THE NOT SO GOOD ---------------------------- - Like most ice cream shops, there was no restroom available for customers, so make sure to empty those tanks below the belt before arriving. MIXED THOUGHTS --------------------------- = Nada. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- = Even on a chilly March Saturday evening at around 6 PM, there were PLENTY of folks willing to freeze their tastebuds off here, so that tells you enough about how good the ice cream is here. = Conveniently located right around the corner from the Yale University campus, so you can enjoy your delicious ice cream with some of the world's brightest minds in your company. = According to their story, all of the ice cream served here is naturally produced from the milk of some of their 300 cows, which are housed at Arethusa Farm near Litchfield, CT, hence why their ice cream is so naturally smoooooooth and refreshing and doesn't have a hint of artificial taste in them. Nuff' said!

There were packaged items, hot items and cold items as well. I ordered a honey lavender macchiato and it was absolutely delicious. They took my order and then called me when it was ready. It was a little bit loud in there so I didn't head her call my name but it was still hot when I went and checked to see if she called me. That was not her fault. I could have stayed closer. You need a code for the restroom and there is only one single stall. The code is on the bottom of your receipt. I really like that each thing lists ingredients and calories. I love when places do that!

Most chairs were up on tables, but a few tables had chairs down and people sat at chairs in the front. When we went up to the register, my friend got excited because they were playing a song she really liked. The employee told her to "calm down" multiple times in a very rude tone. We bought a piece of cake, it was a bit expensive for a small slice ($7.75) but we noticed a student discount with proof of Student ID. One of my friends had her student ID on her so she showed it, my friends also got excited about the discount and we were told to "calm down" again. Then another employee told us that the discount didn't apply to cake or macarons?? Weird. Seems convenient, since those were the only things left in the case. Anyway, we bought the cake at full price, and my friend went to find forks for the group. She asked one of the employees behind the counter and he very rudely said, "Have you tried looking behind you?" So rude. I asked for a plate to make it easier for us to split the cake slice, and the first employee told me they were closed for eating. No mention of that or signs about it before we purchased. We had to leave with our cake and ended up eating it outside on the street. I'm not happy with this place, it looked so cute at first but honestly not even worth the trouble or the money.

Good break to take a short stroll outside while waiting. The store was full with many people waiting, mostly students. One Crêpe can be shared by two medium built people after dinner because it's very filling. The chocolate nut party was a party in my mouth- gelato was good, mouse truffles were great, nuts were sufficient and the Crêpe itself very fresh. The syrup on the gelato was avoidable. Pocky sticks are fun too. Definitely going to be back here to try the savory versions, and I wish they open a store near Hartford.
