Dude, I can't believe I haven't given Cookie... Take a Bite some love yet! I came across them when I was trying to find some gnoshy desserty thing for our wedding. They had such great reviews, we decided to stop by to give it a try. We got a box of 20ish and brought it back to the fam -- we were sold. Everything was delicious. We ordered a couple of platters with a smorgasbord of amazing flavors. People loved it. We loved it. They have interesting flavors and choices for those with dietary restrictions, so that everyone could enjoy. We left paper bags out for people to take some home. My favorite flavor is probably the Peanut Butter and the Lemon Moon... but honestly, all of it is good. Never had a bad cookie from here. We ended up moving into the neighborhood a couple of years ago, and so we love coming here for an occasional treat and it always makes a great gift -- especially when you need to get a gift and don't know them well. Who doesn't love cookies?!? Also what's great: their pricing is reasonable. With everything so expensive nowadays, it's nice to get something high quality and priced reasonably. Delicious cookies, amazing customer service from the owner personally, & an incredible list of flavor choices (including multiple gluten free & Vegan options as well- all without compromising flavor!) We order 160 cookies with an array of flavors. Cookies arrived via delivery on time, and neatly packaged with a handwritten note labeling each flavor, and an ingredient list for every cookie. Cookies are the perfect cross between chewy and crispy. They are soft, fresh & not overly sweet. Would highly recommend this shop and can't wait to order from them again. I ordered yesterday through door dash for delivery today for my friends birthday. The DoorDash driver showed up and was informed they weren't "doing DoorDash today". I spoke w the employee on the DoorDashers phone and she essentially said I was SOL. I'd already paid for the order and the poor driver was there! At my urging she called her boss, who also said SOL, they decided to "turn off" DoorDash so supposedly couldn't see my order. I don't live in SR and have never been here in person and see they have great reviews and am so disappointed by this experience. I had my DoorDash email of proof of the order I wish they'd been able to do something about it and most of all I feel bad for the DoorDash driver for wasting his time as I know they aren't paid much. Every now and then I get a craving for tasty cookies. I want to "take a bite!" When I located the shop, I was having one of those days.... cookies, cookies, got to find some cookies. The shop is in a shopping center area, easily accessible. It's a cheerful shop with sparkling, gleaming counters, showcases, and kitchen area behind the counter. Pops of red, my favorite color for feeling great. My selections required a red box, and the young lady who served me was patient as I made my choices. The service altogether was friendly and fun. After trying their bagged cookies from a local pizzeria, we decided to order some for delivery. We wanted to try the Easter tin, my kids loved the egg shaped ones. More specifically the cookies all had great flavors, I'm glad I got the lemon ones twice because it was balanced sour and sweet, I want more and more. the triple chocolate were darker chocolate flavor which offset some of the more sugar coated ones. The snickerdoodle were more flaky instead of chewy in consistency. The classic chocolate chip was salty and sweet, making them irresistible. I appreciate the efforts from the owner for getting our order out to us & making some yummy recipes that inspire me to share these with people we know. Mattson is known for her creations that may be small in size, but they emphasize her creativity with quality organic ingredients. With her signature cookies she took inspiration from cafes and bakeries that one would see in Europe, with the ultimate goal of being to give customers her cookies that are not overly sweet or overwhelming in size. Following a weekend brunch activity, a friend and I were looking for a treat to satisfy our craving sweet tooth and my friend recommended Cookie...Take A Bite! after she went multiple times in the past to pick up not only treats for herself but treats for her dog as well. One of the many reasons she came back for multiple visits was the fact that the ingredients printed on the back of every back every bag were familiar ingredients that one would find in any grocery store. Located in the interior of the outdoor shopping center, parking is plentiful thanks to the large lot. Upon entry, one will notice that the storefront of Cookie...Take A Bite! is rather small as the majority of their actual shop is their cookie kitchen, of which it is used for both the creation of cookies for not only their shop, but for catering and packages for their cookie membership club. Once you open their front door, the first thing that greets you is their case of sweet little cookies. And on this day they had nine cookie varieties available. One of the best things about the cookies at Cookie...Take A Bite! is very inexpensive as it is recommended that you mix and match your cookie purchases and they sell them at 25 dollars for 36 cookies, 10 dollars for 14 cookies and 5 dollars for 6 cookies or 1 dollar each. I thought that the 14 cookies were just right for my appetite and there were seven cookies in their case that I wanted to double up on, so everything worked out. I decided to order two each of their Plum Jam Thumbprint cookies and their Oatmeal Raisin cookies, both of which were labeled as new. I also ordered two of their Tequila Lime Twist cookies, which won them a 2019 Best of Show Cookie award, two of their Classic Chocolate Chip cookies, two of their Triple Chocolate Threat, two of their Snickerdoodle Sugar cookies and two of their Roasted Peanut Butter cookies, which are also gluten-free. Packaged in a perfect carrying case made of red cardboard, once I got home I tore into one of my Triple Chocolate Threat cookies and I could instantly tell the quality ingredients that Mattson puts into every bite. After having a second cookie, I noticed how each bite consisted of a flavor that wasn't overly indulgent but managed to handily my craving for something on the sweeter side. A real star cookie to me was their Tequila Lime Twist, which had equal parts sweetness from the sugar and sourness from the lime to make for the perfect treat. This was so good, I can't wait to see what other special flavors they concoct at Cookie...Take A Bite! The fact that I got 14 cookies for only 10 dollars is the truly remarkable feat. My only regret is that I only decided to order only 14 cookies as I easily could have purchased an additional 6 cookies for 5 dollars. Obviously, Cookie...Take A Bite! is going to be a regular stop whenever I'm up in the Santa Rosa area, I can't think of a more perfect place to stop off before heading to a wine tasting north of there. Wine and cookies, could there be a better pairing? They are closed on Sundays, which means a Saturday visit is a must, but when we got there at about 2 p.m. they still had plenty of inventory left and as I write this, I am personally trying to figure out how to save up my inventory as each cookie that I try is tastier than the next. What a fabulous cookie bakery. My first visit was a complete joy. The staff is friendly , welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful. I loved the fact that their cookie menu is seasonal and imaginative. It was so good the first time I had to come back again and again! Plus I had to get my dog his treats as the first time I came they were sold out (they are popular). Tracy's cookies are so delicious, they have lots of flavor and are so moist. And when I say moist, I mean they are not hard the next day as they are still moist. I've tried many of Tracy's cookies from the Triple Chocolate Treat, Ginger Honey Snap, Chocolate Raspberry Splash, Classic Chocolate Chip (I tasted a hint of salt or maybe sea salt which gave it that extra yum factor), Peanut Butter, Thumb Print Jam, various Meringues (the espresso meringues was delicious!) and so many more. But I think absolute favorite, though I love them all, is the Tequila Lime Twist. This was so light and refreshing and the lime flavor just brought it all together. And the prices are just right. I've purchased the 14 for $10 and the 36 for $25 and considering my last trip was restaurant week, and purchased 36 cookies I got 3 extra as a restaurant week treat. And there are gluten free as well as vegan options. And one more thing that sets this place apart from others....they even make treats for your pooch. That's right, they make a pumpkin & parsley treat for your dog. It's a bag for $8 and I can tell you that my dog loves these treats! So there literally is something for everyone. You can even order tins of cookies online and have them delivered. They can have other services such as catering, special occasions and corporate gifts. They are taking all Covid precautions including only one customer or one party in at a time. Gloves and face masks are being worn by employees and customers are required to wear masks. Oh, my gosh. Freshly baked cookies, delivered within an hour and still warm upon arrival? With cookies this good this fast and easily, who needs lunch? We ordered the Catering Box, and chose Lemon Moon, Cranberry Oatmeal Crunch, and Sonoma Trekker, a vegan, gluten-free almond-cardamon concoction. All three were very tasty, but those first two are more like traditional cookies. Next time you crave cookies, place your order, then brew some fresh coffee or tea. Check out this cookie shop for the first time today and was immediately knocked off my feet with the amazing smell of freshly baked cookies. They had a large variety and were bring out fresh ones right as I came in. I love that they constantly carry vegan and gluten free items and are changing up some of the flavors they carry. The place was super clean and service was great. I got the dog treats (my dog inhaled these when I got home) 2 each of chocolate chip, double chocolate, chocolate raspberry, lemon moon and snickerdoodle. I WAS MOT DISAPPOINTED! This is a Goldilocks and the Three Bears kind of a business: Some cookie businesses make gigantic cookies that are so overly sweet they should come with a Type 2 Diabetes warning, some businesses make cookies that are on the dry side and lack flavor, and then there is Cookie... Take a Bite!, which offers perfectly sized cookies, moist on the inside and crisp on the outside, which are just sweet enough, without overwhelming your palate. I read all the great reviews, and I needed to bring a dessert item to an event last night, so I went in and bought two cookies, went outside to try them, and immediately went back in to order a tray of 36 cookies, 6 different flavors. I chose Snickerdoodle Sugar, Chocolate Chip, Lemon Moon, Chocolate Raspberry, Peanut Butter and Biscotti. The cookies were a hit at the meeting, and many people who tried them complimented me on my homemade cookies, until I told them about this great business. They really do taste like something your grandma just took out of the oven. The peanut butter cookie is the best I've ever had, not too crumbly, perfectly moist and chewy, and a rich, delicious flavor. The chocolate chip cookies and the lemon cookies were especially popular at the event, and the biscotti I brought to my mother was devoured with a cup of coffee and a declaration that it was the best biscotti she'd ever tasted. This is an exceptional business that clearly puts a lot of love and effort into their creations. Also, I was struck by the reasonable prices and the excellent packaging. They taste like your grandma's homemade cookies, not stock piled mass produced ones. My current favorite is the lemon blueberry - so good! My sister and I were craving some sweet treats and we are so pleased we found this little gem. We ordered the classic chocolate chip, snickerdoodle sugar, and peanut butter drop. There is no way he could resist a little B&E (Breaking and Eating). This is an amazing operation, from their impressive daily selection of unique and tasty treats to their cool open kitchen where you can watch the bakers hard at work turning out the 1-2 bite delights. The staff are super friendly and helpful with detailed descriptions of the currently available cookies, some of which are gluten free. I picked up a 14 cookie selection which was beautifully packed with tissue paper in a cute red box. I loved all the ones I tried but the traditional peanut butter cookies and the Aztec chocolate were my favorites. They are small, two or three bite cookies, so you can get a variety without feeling like you've gone overboard. They come in cute little boxes with a handle on top, and they are all so delicious. It's been a little while since I've been here, which means it's time to stop by, but I remember all the cookies being the perfect texture. The peanut butter and the ginger cookies are both chewy, exactly how they should be. The meringue was light and fluffy on top, chewy on the bottom. The lemon cookie is light and delicious. We got delicious cookies for a family get together from this place recently. Every cookie was very good, including the pumpkin biscotti, which I just enjoyed with my morning coffee. My favorite cookie was the chocolate one that was smeared on one side with peppermint flavored icing. Yum! Our two dogs got complimentary home made bite-sized dog biscuits too. Honestly, the cookies were even better than a new business I tried recently--no names mentioned. At the other place you get ONE big cookie for $5 in a pink box. At Cookie...Take a Bite for $5 you get 6 smaller cookies that come in a cute red box. I prefer being able to choose six different flavors rather than just one. I like variety. When I bring the red box back to fill up (and I will!!) I'll get an additional complimentary cookie. Try this place out and skip those other pink boxes. These cookies are just like home made and you can try a variety. You can buy individual cookies if you want a small, tasty treat or you can fill up three different sized boxes. Couldn't resist the pics of those luscious cookies and I was lucky enough to have the winning bid! I finally got around to cashing in my gift certificate and it was a very pleasant "no muss, no fuss" experience. Tracy was very friendly in answering all my questions and got my prize off in the mail on the date I requested. So - customer service was excellent! Now - for the cookies - like little bites of heaven. I've only had 3 kinds so far, and each was just as delicious as the one before it. This is a wonderful bakery tucked away in the Larkfield Shopping Center. The cookie selection is rotating/seasonal, and always has something to suit everyone in our family. Honestly I wanted to like the cookies but I don't... the snickerdoodle needs more sugar and cinnamon. Just takes like flour. The chocolate chip isn't very sweet, and I think should be made with salted butter, and the mocha doesn't taste like mocha... the store bought toll house are better.
