I am filing this complaint against Dolbier Disaster Restoration (DDR ) for reasons that are listed…read morebelow. These events occurred while they were repairing our roof. A large tree limb fell onto our roof. It created holes in the shingles, sheeting and decking. The damages were covered by our home owner's insurance policy. The insurance adjuster allowed for replacing the shingles and sheeting on the entire roof and to repair the damaged decking. DDR was selected to do the repairs, they were provided with the adjusters' scope of damages--replace the entire roof and repair decking. I used the following terms to identify my view of the structure of a roof. Shingles are on top of the roof, sheeting goes between the shingles and the decking, we had two layers of sheeting, felt and titanium, decking are 4x8 sheets of wood that are attached to the rafters. The roof that was struck by the limb and authorized for repairs was one entire side of a gable roof. I happened to climb on to the roof and observed the roofers as they were working. This is what I observed-- 1. Approximately 1/3rd of the roof had been removed. The roofers were in the process of replacing this part of the roof. The balance of the roof was untouched. DDR was authorized by the insurance adjuster and myself to replace the entire roof. They arbitrarily opted to only do 1/3rd of the roof. Why would DDR replace 1/3rd when they were requested and authorized to replace the entire roof ? 2. I observed that the roofers were in the process of laying down felt paper. They were rolling the felt over a large hole. The hole was very noticeable- it was about six inches wide. A visual inspection showed the hole was also in the decking. The titanium was not present. It was very clear that the workers were going to cover the hole and not repair the decking. There were other holes in the roof. They had already covered these holes with the felt paper. There was no material on the roof to repair holes. It seems reasonable to assume that the other holes were not repaired-they were covered with felt. Later I found on the ground the piece of titanium paper that cover the hole, apparently the roofer cut it off and threw it over the side. It has a large tear where that the limb made I have this piece of titanium. I contacted DDR and advised them of this situation. A few days later a different crew arrived. They properly replaced and repaired the entire roof. A frightening thought --Without proper roof repairs, rain would continue to entered our home year after year. We all can envision the consequence of the damages this would have cause to our home. Thank goodness my 78-year-old body gave me the strength to climb onto the roof. I do wonder if this happened to a person unable to climb onto the roof, or assumes the repairing company would do what the insurance company felt necessary to properly repair their roof. Can you imagine what their life would be like when these defects was discovered ??? FYI, I've been in the property casualty and risk management insurance for over 40 years. My first job was a claims adjuster. I've worked with very honorable professionals. It is very difficult for me to imagine that companies can provide this type of service and walk away leaving the homeowner in a pickle while there were fully compensated. Thanks for taking time to review this matter. Regards, Tim Cummings, CPCU

The good- everyone we've dealt with has been pleasant. The cleanup was done quickly…read more The "not so good"- communication on when things would be taking place was poor. I reached out on a few occasions to try to get a timeline, and even so, the job site manager called on a Friday to see if he could come out Monday. This all took place in October. The leak occurred in July. We did decide to go with a harder to find flooring-so I can understand some delays there, however, between August 22nd and November 8th, we received almost no contact. The only communication we've received regularly is from home office asking for payment (we cannot get in touch with our adjuster-he fell off the face of the earth), and the jobsite "manager" texting to ask if we have made the payment yet. The things I found to be most frustrating, we were asked to clean and prime the bathroom, which they specified specific products. I purchased these out of pocket and did the work. The workers were late, which overall isn't a problem- I know the drive time was a lot-but we were never told if/when someone would be at the house say-to-day. If we didn't have to have a person there to ensure the animals didn't get out, it would have been okay. After the work was completed, I've found a couple of gashed in the floor, and the tub, and the transition strips that were placed are loose. Overall-the work got done. I wouldn't say I recommend them for a smaller job, or residential. Perhaps the commercial and larger jobs are done more efficiently and in a more timely manner, but as it stands, I ended up doing some work, and spent almost 4 entire months with a bathroom that was unusable and having to commute to shower.

DON'T USE ARBORCARE. I saw their sign on the road and decided to give them a call to get 1/2 cord…read moreof firewood. The call was answered by someone barely intelligible, who after hearing that I'd like to buy firewood told me to go online for prices and ordering. SO I go to their website and put in an order along with a few questions and my email address so they could contact me back. About a day later I received an email that didn't address my questions, but simply read "phone number?" So, frustrated but still in need of firewood, I email them with my phone number and soon after received a call in which they set up a delivery time for the next day, and I got the chance to get my original questions answered (they take cash only btw). The next day, they arrive on time, take the cash, and dump an amalgamation of soaked through wood, dirt, and gravel directly into my landlord's parking space. All that day and the next we spent carrying heavy, sodden, dirty wood down the hill to stash under the house and found that much of it was not cut to size width-wise, or was very oddly shaped, or was basically still a log. Some pieces looked like they were actually just clumped dirt, while others looked like they had been freshly split that day. We ended up buying an axe and now every day go out to split wet logs, and spend about three hours trying to get every fire started. DO NOT USE ARBORCARE.

They got it done and it seemed like it was going to work out great. However, it is now October and I still do not have a functional shower floor. After one use of the shower, the floor became soft and mushy in a few places. I asked them to come back and fix it. I will say, they did come back, but it took them 6 tries and the effort got worse each time. Eventually my "messages weren't going through" and on the 6th try when the shower floor still didnt look or work as it should, they stopped responding all together. I have patched 2 large holes on the floor myself with no experience, costing me more money, and they have worked great, because i actually used the right materials for the job and cared how it ended up, but every time I try and use it another part that they did gets mushy and I now understand the whole shower floor just needs to be redone and replaced, but guess who I can't get ahold of? Their motto is that their work is their word, but some of the work on this shower floor was laughable, one time trying to use liquid nails as grout I would change my review back to 5 stars I initially gave if they would replace the whole shower floor like they should have done 4 months ago, but until then I am most defiantly not satisfied.
