Although our wait time, to place our order and receive food took longer than expected (30ish minutes), the food was pretty good. We were pretty simple in our orders in that we had two double cheeseburgers, fries and two shakes. While our food was fine, I would not go out of my way to dine or pick up food from here. This review is from a woman who likes food with nutritional value. I did not see anything including the "sad" salad I ordered that I would recommend to anyone. Bummed out for the children eating here. The food is straight out of a SYSCO bag with very little additional flavorings. The meat appears and tastes like it is of poor quality. The wings needed to be covered in sauce that was full of sugar in order to chuck them down. I ate what I ordered because I paid for it not because I enjoyed it. I am not proud of myself. I am 100 percent sure that at least 95 percent of the people that came in when I did left pleased. The food is take-out preservative filled fast food. Nothing extremely appealing but great after a high s hool or college game food. The restaurant was clean and the decor was cute. It is not my kind of place but I am not in their target market. My favorite Cook-Out of all I've been to. Came here the first week it opened. Has indoor seating and two lines for drive thru. I like to eat inside. I always get the Cook-Out tray with banana milkshake, chicken wrap with honey mustard, and corndog. Get honey mustard sauce on the side too. I like their cheeseburgers too. I like to get mine all the way. Quesadillas aren't bad either. They have every sauce you can think of here even hot sauce. I went to this location since I haven't been to a cookout restaurant in a while and I have to say it was about the same as the last time I went. (I went to the battlefield blvd. location) The fries were about the only good thing in the meal. I had a spicy chicken sandwich which was about the driest thing I've ever eaten and couldn't even finish. My husband had there barbecue sandwich whish I should have gotten because it tasted way better than what I got. I don't think I'll be back at this location for a while. read more

I really enjoyed this place! My sister recommended that I check it out for the great prices and food quality. I'm glad I took up on her advice. I chose a tray: Cajun chicken, hush puppies, and cole slaw. I'm a huge cole slaw fan. I can eat it for dayyys. I will judge you if you have bad cole slaw. Theirs was just right. You really can't go wrong with Cook out. My favorite thing to get is the fries they are always piping hot and make sure to ask for seasoned salt makes it that much better. If I'm craving anything it's usually the fries lol. While I'm there I'll typically grab one of the milkshakes (which they are known for). They are definitely yummy they are super thick and can taste the ingredients. There are so many options deciding on what kind of milkshake you want that is probably the hardest part. The burgers are pretty good I like they have the different options. Overall I've never been disappointed here. Service is friendly and fast. Prices are pretty cheap for the amount of food you get which is why I think that's why most people come here. First time to eat here. The very crowded drive through at 10:00 pm caught my eye. Prices were very reasonable and the food did not disappoint. The BBQ, while definitely not the southern fare I am used to, was delicious. After I adjusted to the shock (I'm used to sweet BBQ) I was thoroughly impressed. Very flavorful and the amount of foo that came with the $3.99 price was quite abundant. My daughter ordered a corn dog, priced at 99 cents. We ordered two in case they were extremely small. They were regular sized corn dogs and she said they were delicious. My husband ordered a hamburger and was very pleased as well. But the shakes. OH!! the shakes! They were so thick and delicious. The pros from my recent visit to this Norfolk Virginia Cookout location via military highway less than 7 days ago was that the bacon cheddar hot dog I ordered was made for me pretty quick and I received a pleasant surprise of finding out from another employee that some mystery person paid for my order when I was ready to pay for it which gave the additional benefit that I unexpectedly received (free food). I'm thankful for the free meal even with the hot dog tasting different than I expected (for instance the cheese had a different texture than I expected though it could have also been because of the timing of my visit). If I ever visit there again I would show up at a different earlier timeframe in the day to see if maybe it was because of the time that I showed up to try the food (my most recent visit and first visit to this place was later in the evening which might have influenced the texture of my food order). read more

First we had to ask the guy on the drive through mic to slow down a few times and repeat what he said because he was going too fast and could not be understood. They repeated our order again so It was right. Once we went to the window to pick it up, not only did they not charge us for an item despite repeating it in the order. Stopped in for the first time and ordered the cheddar double burger with double fries and a club chicken sandwich. I have to say that I am disappointed in the results. The 'huge' burgers were smaller than the palm of my hand, the bacon was on the edge of being burnt, and my girlfriend tells me that the chicken was dry and tasteless. The 'double' fries were equal the a single medium order at any other fast food place, the only saving grace for the fries is that they were half again longer than a standard fast food fry. This is a regular stop for me whenever I visit NSU. Choices are many & everything has been good everytime I've been there. Shake flavors are massive it makes it hard to choose one!
