I was missing a chicken quesadilla out of my order :( I was supposed to have 2 quesadillas with my 2 quesadilla tray.

I went through the drive-thru last night, 12-18-23. I ordered an egg nog cheesecake shake. I actually got tongue tied when I said it and ended up saying it twice. The gentleman who took my order was pleasant, but he must've only heard egg nog. No cheesecake in my shake. Also, I noticed that there was back splash from someone else's soda on the lid of my cup. In the area and decided to try this place out since our local friends rave about it. Sadly the food was subpar. The burger was average but the fries and nuggets were non-eventful. One of the nuggets were fried beyond consumption. I tried the wife's chicken quesadilla and it didn't taste like anything. I will admit for the price you get a ton of food for the kids meal. The only thing good here is the milkshakes which is nearly impossible to botch since they use fake ice cream that isn't made by them. It's an extremely cheap product which is the only thing bringing ppl through thier doors. Everything else they sell is dirt cheap for a reason. It tastes and looks like school food. Food is decent but not very consistent, sometimes it's perfect sometimes it's obviously old or stale. Employees are amazing though, super fast and friendly. The speaker and mic they use to take your order could definitely use improvement, I go to order the same 4 items every time and sometimes they hear 1, 2, or 3 even though I always say 4 so they definitely have a hard time hearing your order because of it and it's also very difficult to understand them. My family decided to try for the first time this fast food chain as we heard folks talking about it. The drive thru line was long so we tried the walk up window. It was slow around 12:30pm today as it looked like they were under staffed. When ordering, we learned that you need to know what options you would like to put in your burger such as pickles and cheese, etc. I tried their peanut butter banana shake, and mint you they have out tons of options. My cheeseburger and fries were served in a styrofoam. The shake was also in a styrofoam cup. The cheeseburger tasted okay, the fries on a soggy side. The shake is very thick and definitely need spoon at first. The shake taste good! This location is very busy with cars so getting in and out of the parking need patience. There are ample of parking spots though. Crew wear masks. Overall this fast food is a decent place to grab basic burger at a economical price. read more

Worst Cookout ever. Never gets my order correct and I always have to wait forever whether it's drive thru or inside - no matter what time of day it is. Tonight I ordered a chicken strips tray with my sides as onion rings and hush puppies. Recieved 3 sad excuses for chicken strips and fries. Beware of this location! I complained several weeks ago and then made a complaint to corporate, they assured me they would address this location. So, tonight we thought we'd try again. We have family in town and headed to Sonic for ice cream. We arrived and were told only drive through orders. So we went to drive through line, the two cars in front of us waited 15 mins and left. So, we drove to the order station. Waited... waited ... nothing. So we went back to a stall. Pressed the red button and the girl on the intercom screamed at us and said "drive through only"!! Never been yelled at in any restaurant by an employee. So, we went back to drive thru. Waited for 10 more mins... zero cars at this restaurant btw. My wife finally called. They said they were to busy to take orders and hung up on my wife. I know this sounds ridic, but this has been the culture of this Sonic for a couple years. We officially give up on this Sonic. This cookout used to be okay but the past 6 times I've been has been absolute trash. Employees are rude, act like you killed their dog when you want more than one tray, treat you like you're their dad that took off when you ask for honey mustard, and basically throw ingredients into aluminum foil and give it to you with a look on their face that says "I hope you choke on this and die". No words, just pure hatred. I went tonight and as soon as I took a bite of my chicken wrap I had to spit it out. Tastes like they marinate the chicken in urine and tears of customers who never received the extra pickles they ordered. Could've been my tears though because I did not get my pickles. I like a good burger. This is fast food, not fine dining. I get it. The drive through is hard to access and not be blocking the road. We thought we would try the walk up window. To get to the window, you have to navigate walking through larger river rocks. The only place to wait for your order is in the river rocks...or the parking lot. Service was fine. Food? Meh. Fries undercooked. Hot dog buns not able to handle their contents. My burger? Turned out to be a BLT... glad we stayed on premises to eat. It was easily replaced. Will I go there again??? I just had a terrible experience last night at this location. I understand this is fast food but if you all insist on rushing customers in the drive thru when there is a long line you could at the very least do it with a decent attitude and effectively. I could not hear anything through the staticky intercom so when I arrived at the window I asked the young lady to repeat my order for accuracy. She rolled her eyes and huffed about it then proceeded to repeat it so quickly I couldn't even understand what she was saying. She also reluctantly gave me honey mustard for the 5 piece chicken nuggets that was actually left out of my bag. That wasn't even the worst part. When I received my order, the two cups of coleslaw (with broken lids) were turned over in a smaller bag with the contents completely soaking through the paper dripping into the trays and the plastic bag below. I was given no napkins to even attempt to clean this massive mess so I took my entire order inside to rectify the issue. The gentlemen working the counter was seemingly pleasant and of assistance (although very smug) while the girl who worked the window offered no help or apology. She rushed over only to gawk and scrutinize the ordeal. Luckily my onion rings and hushpuppies in the trays were not soggy due to having coleslaw drip on them but the whole order needed to be re-bagged. Had more time and care been taken while preparing the order this would not have occurred causing such an inconvenience. Moreover, the quality of the food was not up to par per usual standards. As aforementioned, the 5 piece chicken nugget was left out of my bag, the chicken in the quesadilla was burnt, my burger was dry, crumbly, and completely cut in half making it unenjoyable to eat on the bun, and lastly the bbq was drenched in hot sauce rendering it almost inedible. I have never received such poor service from a Cookout hence the reason for my review. I hope this location improves in the foreseeable future. read more

Went to this cookout after work to get myself and my coworkers some food, it was a order of three BBQ sandwich cook-out trays... all the same. You'd think that'd be easy but I ended up having to go back three times because they forgot fries on one order and buns for all.. went back the second time and told them that I was missing a fry and all my buns- no problem. They come back and give me a bag, I go back to my car to see I'm STILL missing two out of three buns! I go back for that and finally get headed back to work, when I get there they had just thrown my coleslaws into a bag and it had leaked everywhere so the paperbag was soggy and when I picked it up my slaw it fell out into the parking lot and busted. So I had this huge mess to clean up inside and outside of my car and it was overall an upsetting experience with this cookout. read more

She's very picky but loves the flavor... reminiscent of the summer time cook outs in the backyard growing up... dad on the grill sweatin' and cussin', mom in the kitchen preparing the potato salad and entertaining guests, Uncle George drinking way too much and throwing up on the next door neighbor's kid.... Good times. Good cheap food, quick & on the fly... Tasty burgers, dogs, chicken, fries, and o-rings but haven't tried the BBQ yet. Something like 40 varieties of milkshakes & a few seasonal flavors as well (like egg nog in winter & watermelon in summer) Most Cook-Outs are simply drive-thru only, but this location has a dining room. I think the dining room is open until 10pm and the drive thru is open until like 2am. The only bad thing I can say about Cook-Out is that their menu is sketchier than Chinese arithmetic. No flow or continuity... just looks like Carl Childers from Slingblade was in charge of this layout. The term 'hot mess' is applicable. Overall, a solid place to pick up some pretty good & cheap eats... and are open late for those late night appetites. Try 'em out sometime. read more

Stopped here yesterday for lunch while house-hunting in the area. I had never been to the chain before, but I had heard it was good. Not only was the food high quality, but the price is ridiculously low. They have burgers, hot dogs, and bbq. My wife and I each had a burger. You tell them what size you want (1/4 or 1/3) and then they ask you what you want on it, so you get to fully customize it. No need to ask if there's tomatoes on it, and if there are to ask to take them off, or to go back to your seat and pick them off yourself. Their combo meals are also insane, as you get a burger, drink and two side items. The sides range from what you would expect (fries and onion rings) to the unexpected, like hush puppies, corn dogs, and chicken or bacon wraps. The best part? The burger combo cost only $4 and change. There was so much that my wife just got a burger, and we split the sides from my combo and had plenty to eat. We ended up spending less than $8 for the two of us to eat lunch. As far as the burger goes, it was good, but not the best. I find the burger quality at Sonics and some other fast food joints to be slightly better, but it doesn't mean this burger was the worst I ever had. For the price and the novelty of selecting from various odd sides, as well as the ability to order one of over 30 milkshake flavors if you so choose, it was a decent place to grab a burger on the go. read more

One of the nicest Cook Outs I've been to, this one in Matthews off 74 has a place to eat inside. One very important note: They have Quesadillas. That might sound silly, but if you've grown to love them at Cook Out, some don't carry it (cough Huntersville cough).
